Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: Dance Ruckus

Chapter 45: Dance Ruckus

"Thank you to Mary Jane's Band for their wonderful performance. Let's give them a round of applause."

The host, Harry Osborn, actively stirred up the atmosphere, leading the applause.

Actually, he didn't even need to intervene; the atmosphere was already pushed to its peak by Mary Jane's Band's explosive stage presence.

"I knew you guys were the best!"

"Midtown Band's rookies are no match for you!"

"I love you, Mary Jane!"

The sudden declaration of love caused a stir in the venue. American teenagers, who sought excitement and liked to defy convention, sent their blessings to the brave suitor.

"It's Thompson!" "I knew he liked Mary Jane."

"But isn't Mary Jane with Peter?" "Everyone knows Peter and Thompson are at odds. This is going to be good."

"Where's Peter? Has anyone seen Peter?" "Shhh! Don't get involved."

Normally, at this point, the host of the Party would either stabilize the audience and skillfully divert the topic, or seize the opportunity to hype up the atmosphere and play matchmaker. But these were clearly not options for Harry.

"Look who it is? It's the crybaby Flash Thompson! Wake up, no one likes a loser who cries after getting beat up."

Seeing someone trying to woo his good Friend's girl, Harry directly opened his mic and started roasting. He really opened the Microphone, and everyone in the Venue could hear what Harry said.

The most painful way to insult someone is to expose their weakness. Being beaten to tears by Peter could be said to be the shame of Thompson's entire High School career. During that time, anyone could step on him. If it weren't for his performance in the Football Team that salvaged some dignity, he might have become the lowest rung on the School's social ladder, a target of Bullying.

Thompson, whose sore spot was touched, turned red with Anger and started cursing without restraint.

"FK! Who are you calling a crybaby, you a**hole!"

Simple-minded Thompson only knew how to say curse words that children shouldn't hear, but these obviously didn't faze Harry. Harry opened his mouth again with another round of sarcasm.

"Oh~ It seems I need to take back what I said, otherwise crybaby Thompson is going to cry again~"

Harry deliberately used a funny tone and gestures, causing the students in the Venue to burst into laughter.

The students were happy, but the teachers frowned. Male teachers began to squeeze towards the Stage, preparing to stop this farce, otherwise the verbal dispute might escalate into physical conflict.

Thompson, already angry from Harry's repeated mockery, became even more enraged after hearing the surrounding laughter, pushing away the people around him and trying to rush onto the Stage to punch Harry.

Harry seemed fearless, but he had already secretly clenched the Microphone in his hand, preparing to give Thompson a big one.

Seeing that Thompson had lost his mind, the teachers immediately warned loudly, while also pushing forward more forcefully. However, to allow the students to be more at ease, the teachers were basically on the periphery of the Venue, and their speed couldn't compare to Thompson, who had occupied a prime location for his confession. At this moment, he had already jumped onto the Stage.

Just as the teachers despaired and the students watched excitedly, a Figure stood between Harry and Thompson.

It was Mary Jane. Mary Jane stopped the angry Thompson.

"I think Peter will definitely like to see what happens next." Yang Le, who had already put away the Recorder, saw this scene and took out the Recorder again, starting a new round of Video Recording.

"Get out of the way, Mary Jane, this is between us."

Thompson was already furious, but he still stopped when he saw the woman he admired in front of him.

"I'm going to beat him up!"

"Wow! I'm so scared, so scared I'm about to cry, but I might not cry very well, can you teach me, crybaby?"

Harry once again mocked Thompson with sarcasm, and also amplified it through the speakers, causing a new wave of laughter.

"Okay, Harry, don't provoke him anymore." Mary Jane turned her head and said helplessly. Thompson on the opposite side was so angry that his hair was about to stand on end.

"Thank you for your affection, Thompson, but I already have someone I like."

"Why? Is it really like the rumors say, you like that bean sprout?"

All of Harry's previous sarcasm might not have been as lethal as this sentence. Thompson, already red-faced with rage, was accurately broken by Mary Jane.

"Take back what you just said, Thompson." This time it wasn't Mary Jane who spoke, but Gwen. Unknowingly, the other members of Mary Jane's Band had stood beside Mary Jane, all glaring at him.

Let me mention that Harry was also one of them, but he was blocked by the girls, and no one could see him.

"Shut up, Stacy, I wasn't asking you!" Thompson roared.

"Crack."

The Recorder in Yang Le's hand made a strange noise. Yang Le felt that Thompson might need some extracurricular tutoring, the intense kind.

"Apologize to my Friend, Thompson." After Thompson roared at Gwen, Mary Jane completely lost her patience with him, and no longer cared about Thompson's face.

"Why! What do I lack compared to him?" Thompson, losing his mind, questioned Mary Jane again.

"Sorry, that would be a long story, and I'm not prepared to waste Time on you." Mary Jane said coldly.

"Wow!" "That sentence is too harsh."

"Too cool, Mary Jane!" "I want to be your fan for life!"

"Get off the Stage, Thompson!" "Yeah! Get off! No one wants to see a Clown outside of a Circus!"

"Clown!" "Clown!" "Clown!"

"Shut up! Shut up!" Thompson turned around and roared at the audience. "I said! Shut up!"

The teachers who wanted to stop all this were even more desperate. The students had already consciously formed a human wall to stop them from passing. Their warnings were also drowned out by the voices of the crowd. They could only helplessly watch everything happening before their Eyes.

"I'm done for." This was the collective thought of the teachers present.

Thompson looked very angry on the surface, but in fact, he was already scared. Now he had completely become the bottom of the School's social hierarchy. He had stood on the opposite side of all the students in the School. No one would be Friends with him anymore. He had now become the bullied.

And the cause of all this was Peter Parker, and Mary Jane!

Thompson looked at Mary Jane resentfully, who had already turned her Back to pack up her instruments. It was all because of Mary Jane. Why didn't she accept his confession? If she had accepted, none of this would have happened. Even because of this confession, he would have become a popular Figure in the School. No! He was supposed to be a popular Figure!

Not a Clown who was laughed at!

"Why…" Thompson murmured with his head down, slowly moving his feet towards Mary Jane.

"Why!"

Thompson suddenly erupted and pounced towards Mary Jane.

"Careful!"

People in the front row shouted loudly to remind her, but their voices were drowned out by the deafening shouts of "Clown."

Thompson's Eyes were full of resentment. He stared fixedly at Mary Jane's Back. Just as he was about to reach her, accompanied by a dizzying spin, he found himself falling to the ground.

"You're under arrest, Thompson." Gwen looked at Thompson lying on the ground with heroic spirit.

"Sheriff Stacy said so."

(Didn't expect it, did you? I didn't ghost, but this is another kind of ghosting.)
