"Ariadne".Nathan yelled as Stephan held him back.but he rushed to my aid.
"My king be careful".stephan yelled as he followed him.everywhere was clouded with smoke.
"Ariadne please wake up, Stephan call the doctor".nathan cried as he carried me in arms.
"Yes my king".stephan said.
"Ariadne don't worry I will save you okay, everything will be fine".He cried as he took me to his room. he laid me on the bed.
"My king greetings".the doctor said as she came in while stephan stood watch at the door.
"Doctor please save ariadne don't let anything happen to her".nathan said.
"My king, everything will be fine please wait outside".she said as she closed the doors.
"Nathan what's going in, I heard an explosion".lady Isabelle said as walked in.
"Ariadne's room exploded".Nathan said as he wiped his tears.
"How did that happen,who did this to my hero". Humphrey said as he rushed in. the rest of the family came.
"I hope nothing bad happens to her". Milan said.
"I hope she is safe"., Humphrey cried.
"I hope nothing bad happens to her womb, we cannot afford that to happen,stop being so dramatic Humphrey and leave ". Lady Isabelle said worriedly.and he left.
"How could you be so selfish and cruel lady Isabelle aren't you even worried about her".Nathan said angrily.
"My king stop acting like you care for her". prince clayford said.
"I may not care for her as a wife but I do care for her as a human being".Nathan said angrily.
"My king you should calm down".prince martins said.
"Don't tell me to calm down,just pray she gets better or else I will deal with all of you myself".Nathan said angrily.
"How did the explosion happen,I mean who would want to kill the queen". Louise said.
"How can this possibly happen when they are guards everywhere,thank goodness nothing bad happened to you,My king".lydia said.
"My king just calm down okay everything will be fine". Milan said reassuringly.
"Milan I cannot be calm, the explosion happened right in front of my eyes".he said worriedly.
"You know you aren't strong, you need to calm down". Milan said, she wanted to hug him but he refused.
"Milan I am fine".Nathan said.
"What has come over you my king, you need to control yourself please milan take him to your room, he needs to rest".Lady Isabelle said.
"I am fine mother, everybody leave".Nathan said angrily. everyone left except milan.
"My king you should relax okay,you look pale".milan said.
"I am fine milan".he said dismissively.
"I am going to prepare your medicine".she said.
"There is no need for that milan,I would like to be left alone".Nathan said.
"As you wish my king".milan said and left.
"Did you see the way your son misbehaved with us".prince clayford said as lady Isabelle walked downstairs.
"Don't be ridiculous clayford,he is just scared".lady Isabelle said.
"Really mother, he doesn't respect us because he is king,we are older than him you know that mother and yet you said nothing to him".prince Martin said angrily.
"He disrespected me as well and what's the bickering about".lady Isabelle defended.
"Mother did you know that your son's wife created a scene today at the royal court,she embarrassed all the lords today she totally deserves what happened to her".prince clayford said angrily.
"She is trouble I agree, but I won't stand quiet and watch both of you harm her".lady Isabelle said.
"Mother don't be ridiculous, We didn't do this and honestly we don't want to be caught in your web of suspicion and manipulation ".prince martins said.
"I know my son's very well and both you better not mess with me,if anything goes wrong you all will face my wrath".she said while pointing a finger at them.
"Stop it mother,I won't let you threaten me for no reason".prince clayford said while glaring at her.
"Excuse me".she said and left.
Nathan waited outside the door patiently and anxiously till dusk.
"My king greetings ,everyone has been waiting patiently at the dinning hall for you, please we are hungry". Louise said as walked in.
"You all can eat without me I am not hungry".Nathan said weakly.
"My king you look stressed and hungry please come downstairs for the sake of my unborn child". Louise said.
"My king she is right you need to eat and they have all been waiting for you". Stephan said.
"Fine I will be down shortly".nathan said.
"Thank you my king". Louise said and left.
"Stephan I am worried what if something bad happens to ariadne".nathan said as he stood up.
"My king nothing bad will happen to her, she is a strong woman".stephan said reassuringly.
"I think ariadne knew something was wrong that was why she told us to move very far from the door,she saved us".Nathan said.
"Yes she did save us my king,we must find out who did this to her".stephan said.
"Stephan,you will have to find out who did this to her for me, let's go downstairs".Nathan said and they left.
"Greetings my king".they all said while standing as Nathan entered the dining hall.
"Greetings everyone".Nathan said.they all waited for him to sit down before they sat down.
"My king you should apologize to us, we have been waiting here for one hour and you know my wife is pregnant".prince Martin said as the food was being served.
"My apologies everyone,but aren't you all being insensitive".nathan said calmly.
"My king,you don't have to get worked up, ariadne will be fine".milan said.
"How are we being insensitive My king,". Prince clayford said.
"A person was caught up in an explosion and you all act as if nothing happened, you know what it's fine".nathan said as he folded his hands.
"What are you doing my king".lady Isabelle said.
"I am not hungry,all of you can eat I will seat here and watch".nathan said.
"It's seems as if only the king and Humphrey care about the queen I guess since both of you have decided not to eat". prince martins said mockingly.
"Well what if.....".
"Here comes the queen".the spokesman yelled as I entered.they were all surprised to see me.
FLASH BACK...
I opened my eyes as soon Nathan left the room.
"My queen you are....".
"Lock the door and not another word".I said weakly and she locked the door.
"My queen".she said as she rushed to my aid.and I fainted.the doctor cleaned me up, changed my clothes and bandaged my injuries.
I woke up feeling better but still weak.
"My queen you are awake are you okay".the doctor said happily.
"I am much better".I said as she helped me sat up.
"My queen take this, it's lime juice and it's not poisoned".she said as she gave me a glass.
"Thank you".I said and I drank it in one gulp.
"My queen how did were you...."
"I am a warrior and I know how to manuveur myself so that I don't sustain too many injuries".I said and coughed.
"Bravo my queen, well you sustained an injury at back of head, your left shoulder, your feet and your right hand but it would have been worse considering the explosion."she said.
"Thank you doctor,where is the king".I said.
"The king left for the dinning hall a while ago".She said.
"Take me there". I said.
"But you aren't dressed properly you wearing the king's shirt and trousers and they look too big and....."
"Take me there".I said stubbornly. She opened the door and Humphrey ran in.
"My queen you are alive,I knew you would be fine". Humphrey said smiling as he stood beside me.
"Look at how puffy your eyes are, stop behaving like a baby".I said smiling,he reminded me of my younger sister.
"Okay my queen promise me you won't do this again".he said.
"Stop being silly help me up".I said.
"Where are we going".he said.
"To meet the king". the doctor said. They both helped me stand up.
"Ouch".I said as my feet touched the ground.I was in so much pain.
"Should we stay".the doctor said.
"No let's go".I said.
PRESENT.
"Ariadne".nathan said smiling as he stood up.they helped me sit down.
"Greetings everyone,why are all of shocked".I said mockingly.they were all surprised.
"My queen we are happy to see that you are well but you should have stayed in bed or better still put on decent clothing".lady Isabelle said.
"Lady Isabelle,I am perfectly fine I don't need bed rest and am also wearing my husband's clothes I see no problem with that".I said glaring at all of them.
"She looks scary".louise whispered.
"If looks could kill". Lydia whispered.
"My queen I had never imagined that you will recover so quickly".prince clayford said anxiously.
"You all wanted me dead but I will return the favour to the person that tried to kill me today".I said.
"My queen please calm down you are still recovering".milan said.
"With all due respect,Why are you accusing us for your misfortune my queen".prince Martins said.
"What".Nathan said angrily.
" My king I can handle him,as for you Prince martins If my misfortune were to fall on you, you wouldn't survive it and am not accusing anyone falsely or am I?".I said.
"You have no manners what's so ever".lady Isabelle said glaring at me.
"Oh please,you all don't deserve my respect at all and don't you ever make the mistake of thinking that I will sit still and let all have it your way,I ariadne will deal with anyone that stands in my way,I have my eyes on all of you".I said angrily.they were all scared and shocked. My mission had been accomplished,I wanted to instill fear in them for a while.
"Calm down ariadne you know let's go". Nathan said.
"You can't carry me".I said as he pulled out the chair.
"Stop being so stubborn".he said as he carried me in his arms.
"Wow you are actually agile".I said as as I placed my hand around his neck and we left.
