As the Zonal sports meet was taking priority, the school had given Attendance Pass to him, so he could train more. Jacob seeing a chance to make a one in a lifetime athlete in his life. He gave all his might in coaching. He did not give him rest, Jacob has his target set at 4x100 Relay, and 100 m sprint for Kumar.
Kumar did not relax in anyway, he knew despite having his System and high Stat, he would bot be able to win if he is not in peak confition. For each practice he had created Quest and Reward to be Usain Bolts Training Method in Lucid Dream. Thus despite following Jacob in training. His form and posture everything was of international standard.
He had improved tremendously in the sprint, he did not thought that he would be able to improve much beyond this level for a while as he made a estimate at first his 50 m took him 7 seconds but when it came to 100 m it took him 15 seconds more than double. So then he started his training and increased his speed and agility as mad including his stamina.
And yet after all his increase in Current Stats he had barely achieved the time of 12.5 seconds. He knew that to further down his time he need to grow more and reach th inhuman level of stats in all forms. He also needs to upgrade his Sports equipment. Further reducing each milli second would take blood and sweat.
So he needs sponsers to improve, as for the current tournament his current timing is more than enough as long as he is keeping up with his training. Jacob also did not force more training to Kumar as he knew that he is still a Kid. As that the day of Zonal Sports meet arrived. It was a pre qualifier for District level Sports meet. After that will be state level but that starts from only Under 14 category which for sure Kumar cannot win with 100% guarantee.
At present he is participating in Under 12 Category. He has his relay partners Cibi (7th Grade), Denaikar (7th Grade), Kamalesh (7th Grade) and Kumar (3rd Grade). They are the best runners in the school under 12 category. Jacob and everyone went to Jawarhalal Nehru Stadium early morning.
The participating school members are all warming up in the morning and have their body at peak condition. Kumar knew that it is really a peak level of Sports meet as the intensity is more. Many of the talented athletes are not able to move Nationals were minorly due to Politics and major reason is Less Time and Funds to continue the endeavour.
He can still remember the Cricketer Ashwin, said about why there are less Cricketers in Tamil Nadu, is it Caste politics or some other reason. It was the same reason, they needed funds to keep up the training regimen and full hearted dedication. It is true that there is politics in the play. But it is not to the absurd level shown in the movies completely denying the people's efforts.
It was the start with Under 12 Sprint, and the intense Age groups would follow later. Perumal and Eshwari had brought Devi to Nehru stadium to watch the Race. Kumar stood at the Starting line in Athletics Position like a Beast that is ready to strike. He imagined himself as a Race Car that is Throttled to the maximum waiting for the green Light.
He then heard a Gunshot, as if a greenlight is striked, he went running, his arms movement, his leg strides are on a perfect form level, Kumar kept a considerable gap between other contestants. He broke the Air resistance which is being teared down the Air, he completed the time in 12.10 seconds setting a National Record in Under 12 category.
This is the best result that has been done at the time. This is added to the fact that Kumar broke that record at the tender age of 7. And chance that by the age of 12 he could break that record again, and with the timing he could even participate in Nationals under 14.
After that he entered the Under 12 Category 4x100 m Relay, He and his team started with Cibi and then Denaikar, third with Kamalesh and final completing the race is Kumar. Kumar knew despite his individual performance if the team fails the Baton then they would lose. So he made a quest of having a team cheer up, and Quest Reward is to have moral and Concentration at peak condition.
With that he trusted the system and he placed the reward for Quest Reward for Relay is Leadership Skill which would make the others trust in Kumar. Then the Relay race same started with the Gun Shot. Cibi took a considerable run matching with another contestant and gave the Baton to Denaikar, Denaikar got behind slightly as his Nearby opponent is a good runner but the distance is not much barely millisecond difference.
Then Denaikar gave it to Kamalesh, Kamalesh barely able to maintain the same level and then the Baton was passed to Kumar. As soon as Kumar got it he took the lead with a considerable distance. they did not break the record but still the Zonal Gold is theirs.
Kumar saw the two Quests in his Panel as it is time for the Seniors turn for Zonals, kumar closed his eyes and concentrated on the Quest Maker Panel.
Quest 5: Win Gold Medal Under age 12 category Sprint Zonal match.
Reward: Physique All Stat +0.05, Running Skill Experience Level Increase, Skill Laser Focus
Punishment: Cancelation of Scholorship, Charm -5.0, Charisma -5.0
Quest 9: Win Gold Medal Under age 12 Relay 4x100 relay Zonal Match.
Reward: Running Skill Experience Increase, Leadership Skill Lv 0, all Physique Stat +0.05, Increased Scholorship
Punishment: Losing Trust of Team, Losing Scholorship, All Stat -4.0.
Now that he has acquired the reward, despite the huge event and difficult Quest, the increase in Stat is still very less. On the bright side his Quest Point for these two Quests are around 67 points where his menial quests give him pitiful 7 or 8 points. After the events have been completed.
Kumar was called for the Podium for his Medal, The Announcer " Let us welcome the Gold Medalist who is still age of 7 and achieved the National Record 12.10 seconds, let us give our warm cheer up for the young champion. All welcome Master Kumar. "
Perumal and Eshwari were so joyful, their heart is full of pride, they were so happy. Their son changed altogether as if he got blessed by God. It can be said that their daughter's arrival had brought a great change to their life. As from that moment on all the plans that Kumar had placed for him gone crashing down by his huge improvement.
