And with that, the night finally fell and the forest came alive as if a beast waking up from its slumber, hungry and mad. The roars came from all side, visibility lowereed. Constant crunching of dried leaves, sounds of heavy footsteps, some running, most walking could be heard from every where. A chill ran through Arthur's spine and he crouched down to become less visible. Few things he knew after watching zombie movies were to remain out of sight, make less sound and keep moving.
Slowly he started moving, lowering the sound by him as much as he can while searching for the tallest tree to climb and call it a night. He had lots of experience sneaking around in his previous world. The constant running, hiding, chasing, tailing people and lock picking. It takes a lot of work just to kill a person, not like in games where you got mission and the target appears on the map and, BOOM, the mission is complete...well...at last the games he played. Just when he was about to start climbing, Nux interjected
[That's not gong to work.]
'Why? Don't tell me they can climb too?'
[Yes they do, and faster then normal people. Not to mention some can fly, and some can use weapons.]
"Fuck...we need to have a serious talk about this." Arthur started to understand the danger he was into and couldn't help ask "If night is this dangerous, then how can you be so sure that the stone room will hold?"
[Don't worry, almost nothing can break the stone walls.]
"You said 'almost'." Arthur inquired, his lips started twitching at the random info dumps this system is giving out of nowhere judging by the situation he was in.
[Stop talking and start moving. Or you can still deploy stone room here.]
'Why does it sound like you are more eager for the room than me? Do you think this is the right and safe place?'
[Nowhere is safe host, if you want a safer place then you should just deploy the room.]
Arthur started pondering about whether to deploy it or not. Regardless, he continued moving, not wishing to stay in one place more than necessary. On one hand, deploying it here will grant him a best place to stay because let's be honest, having a shelter can decide life and death in this kind of world. On the other hand, if once deployed, Arthur knew he can't take it back. Having a shelter in a compromised area is too risky and wasteful.
Taking a deep breath Arthur finally made up his mind, in the worst case scenario, he will have no choice but to deploy. He just have to make sure to delay that as much as possible.
With his mind made up, Arthur sharpened his senses as much as he could. It wasn't long when he felt movement up ahead. There they were, the walking dead, also known as corrupted, but one particular caught his attention and no, it wasn't a gory, tall, broad one with jagged teeth and sharp claws, what differentiated him was it's clothes, light pink full sleeve shirt , dark brown trouser and a crimson sleeveless vest, probably a firm believer of 'dying in fashion'.
But it wasn't alone, few more just like it but what could be considered 'farmer's clothes' surrounded it. Arthur was intrigued by it's fashion sense, a part of him mulling whether to kill it or not. Just as he was about to give up, Nux chimed in,
[You should hunt them. It is not common to see such small group everyday, and also, you know, gain some experience? And some clothes too, I mean, how much longer you wish to roam around naked?]
