Chapter 8 - CELEBRATIONS

CELEBRATIONS

"What a debut man!" Batalla said, patting Andersons back.

The manager had just finished his debrief where Anderson earned a well earned pat on the back much to his surprise. He could still hear the glowing words.

"Good job of the bench Anderson. That's what I expect from everyone. Play like you mean it, chase the ball down, press. That's all I expect. We have an even tougher opponent next week so start getting prepared."

It wasn't much but it meant a lot to Anderson.

"It was also your debut, remember, don't get too cocky," Anderson said with a laugh.

"Yeahhh we need to celebrate. Text me your address and I'll come pick you up."

"Bu…"

"You don't forget okay," then he was gone.

Anderson wanted to tell him that it was probably not possible. They hadn't told him anything but he was sure his family had planned something. Aaagh! He would text him and see how things went.

Anderson arrived home to a dark house. Could they make it anymore obvious? Still he went bravely to the door and knocked. No answer obviously. He knocked again then opened the door.

"Supriiiiiiiseee!!!"

Just as he had predicted there was a party. In a minute he was covered in green and white confetti. A big green and white cake with the words 'congratulations on your debut' written on the top was center stage.

He looked around, most of his extended family was here, even a few family friends. A warm glow filled his heart. The family needed this.
