Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Seizing Opportunities

Silence filled the room as Zack stared at Mustafa, waiting to hear the solution that could save the United States from crisis. This was not just an economic solution—it was a matter of survival. America's global dominance was at risk, and for the first time, it had no choice but to cooperate with Egypt.

Mustafa, on the other hand, observed him calmly, as if reading his thoughts and fully aware of the pressure he was under in Washington. With a confident smile, he said:

"Don't worry, Mr. Zack. Our Egyptian scientists have already found a way to transfer energy to you without relying on Russia or traditional transportation via power stations and seas."

Zack's eyes widened slightly in skepticism. His country had attempted similar solutions before, but all had ended in failure. That was why America had reconsidered its relationship with Egypt and sought to compensate for past mistakes. However, one truth was now clear: Egypt was not a country to be underestimated.

Mustafa continued, capitalizing on Zack's growing tension:

"And you know, Mr. Zack, that scientists' efforts must be appreciated. Since Egypt is helping the United States counter the Sino-Russian alliance, it is only natural that there should be an agreement that guarantees the rights of all parties."

Zack felt the pressure mounting. Mustafa had turned the situation in his favor, using diplomacy and economics with surgical precision. Zack wanted to strangle the man sitting in front of him, but instead, he forced a diplomatic smile and said:

"Of course, Mr. Mustafa. We greatly value the work of Egyptian scientists and understand the importance of cooperation. So, what do you propose as fair compensation for them and for Egypt?"

Mustafa stroked his chin thoughtfully, as if he had been expecting this exact question, and then smiled lightly.

"Don't worry, we're not asking for much, and we won't impose impossible conditions on our partner, the United States."

Then, in a calm tone, he continued:

"You know that true scientists do not seek wealth or fame; they seek knowledge. Our scientists work hard—not for awards or recognition, but for Egypt and the world."

Zack stared at him in surprise, his thoughts racing.

"Who said he's not a skilled politician? This man is more dangerous than any diplomat I've met. He's not offering a deal... he's imposing a reality!"

Trying to regain his composure, Zack said:

"I respect such dedication, Mr. Mustafa. So, what do you think would be appropriate for these scientists?"

Mustafa did not hide his satisfaction. He had been steering the conversation toward this moment all along. With a composed expression, he finally said:

"Since they love science, we ask only for the right technological support. We want the United States to allow Egypt to establish microchip manufacturing plants, provide access to the latest artificial intelligence technologies, and ensure an open exchange of technological advancements to support our scientists' research."

Silence followed. Zack raised an eyebrow as he processed what he had just heard.

"Microchips... Artificial intelligence... Damn it! Does he think I'm an idiot?!"

Zack's mind raced.

"If Egypt gains access to these technologies, it will become an economic and scientific powerhouse. Microchip production alone generates billions of dollars daily—what if they also harness Pyramid Energy? This won't just make them an advanced country… it will make them unstoppable!"

But retreating was not an option. Taking a deep breath, Zack asked:

"And what about Egypt? How do we properly acknowledge its contributions?"

Mustafa smiled as if they had finally arrived at the most crucial part of the negotiations.

"Don't worry, Mr. Zack. Egypt doesn't ask for much. We believe in peace and don't exploit others. However, we do want a few simple things: We want the United States to withdraw completely from the Middle East and stop interfering in regional affairs. We also want a permanent seat on the UN Security Council… and finally, permission to develop nuclear weapons to protect our interests."

Zack felt the room spinning. "This is not a simple request… this is madness!"

He now understood that Mustafa wasn't just pushing Egypt forward—he was positioning it as a global superpower on par with America, Russia, and China. Refusing the deal wasn't easy either. Time was not on the United States' side. If Egypt turned to Russia and China, America would be pushed out of the equation entirely.

Zack exhaled slowly and, keeping his face neutral, said:

"Agreed, Mr. Mustafa. This is the position Egypt and its scientists deserve."

Yet despite his words, he knew his country had just lost this round.

A subtle smile appeared on Mustafa's face as he said:

"Excellent. We'll draft the agreement first, and then I'll reveal the solution to your energy problem. Of course, we trust you, but we must ensure our rights as allies."

Zack had no choice but to comply. Once the agreement between Egypt and the United States was officially signed, he could no longer hold back his curiosity. With barely contained eagerness, he asked:

"Now, tell me… what is the solution?"

Mustafa looked at him with the smile of a victor and simply said:

"We will transfer energy via satellites… just like the internet."

Zack's eyes widened in genuine shock. "How did we not think of that?!"

But he immediately realized that this was no coincidence. Egypt had planned this all along!
