Chapter 138 - Chapter 136: The Seal Awakens

---

Chirag stared at the stone monument, the strange energy still humming beneath his fingertips. It was as though the very earth was alive, pulsing with power. His instincts told him something was wrong—something had been disturbed.

Siya and Kael joined him at the monument, their expressions serious. "What is it?" Siya asked, her voice soft but filled with concern.

"I think this is a seal," Chirag said, stepping back. "But it's not like any seal I've seen before. This one feels ancient—dangerous."

Kael frowned. "Dangerous how?"

Before Chirag could answer, the ground beneath their feet trembled. A low rumble echoed through the valley, and the sky above darkened, as though a storm was coming. The air grew thick, heavy with tension.

Chirag took a step back. "The seal is awakening."

The monument before them began to glow, faint lines of light tracing across the stone, pulsing in rhythm with the tremors. The energy felt familiar, yet different—something old, something forgotten, and something that should have stayed buried.

Siya's gaze hardened. "We need to stop this. If whatever's inside is released, it could destroy everything we've worked for."

Chirag nodded. "We can't let that happen."

Kael gripped his sword tightly. "Then let's do this."

---

They tried everything they could think of to stop the monument from fully activating. Chirag summoned his fire, attempting to burn the glowing lines, but they only flickered, unaffected by the flames. Siya called upon her wind, trying to blow away the energy, but it was too strong, too ancient to be moved.

The tremors grew stronger, and the ground cracked open in several places. The villagers had begun to gather, watching from a distance, their faces filled with fear and uncertainty. The sky above them was now fully covered with dark clouds, and the wind howled through the trees.

"We're running out of time," Chirag said, desperation creeping into his voice. "If we can't stop this, we'll all be caught in the destruction."

Siya's eyes narrowed. "There must be a way. There always is."

"Then let's find it," Kael said, determination in his voice. He stepped forward, eyes focused on the glowing lines of the seal. "What if we try to reverse the flow of power? Disrupt the energy from within?"

Chirag thought for a moment. "It's risky, but it might work. We'll need to act fast."

The three of them stood in front of the monument, ready to take action. Chirag focused his fire, not to burn, but to redirect the energy flowing through the seal. Siya summoned her wind, not to blow it away, but to guide the flow. And Kael, with his strength and precision, used his sword to strike at the lines of light, trying to sever the connection.

The seal flickered violently, as if it resisted their efforts. The energy surged, pushing back against them, forcing them to step back. Chirag felt the heat of the flames growing stronger, but he fought to keep control. His heart raced as the monument pulsed with greater intensity.

Then, with one final burst of power, the seal cracked open.

A burst of light exploded from the monument, blinding them all for a moment. Chirag's heart pounded in his chest as he shielded his eyes. When the light faded, he slowly lowered his hand, looking up at the sight before him.

A figure stood where the monument once was—tall, imposing, and cloaked in shadows. Its eyes glowed with an eerie, unnatural light. The air around it was thick with power, the kind of power that made even Chirag's flame feel small in comparison.

Siya's eyes widened. "What is that?"

Kael unsheathed his sword, ready to fight. "We didn't release something harmless, did we?"

The figure stepped forward, its voice low and menacing. "You've awakened me, mortals. And for that, you will pay the price."

---

Chirag's pulse quickened, but he remained calm. "We didn't come here to destroy. We came to protect."

The figure laughed, a cold, hollow sound. "Protect? There is no protection from me. I am the past. I am what you have tried to bury. And now, I will take what is mine."

Chirag stepped forward, his fire burning brighter as he faced the figure. "We won't let you take anything."

The figure's glowing eyes fixed on Chirag. "You are the one who dares to challenge the past? You, a mere mortal? You are nothing."

Siya's wind swirled around them, forming a protective barrier. "We may not be gods, but we are stronger than you think. We stand united."

Kael gripped his sword tightly, his stance firm. "We've faced worse than you."

The figure's smile twisted into a cruel grin. "Then come. Let's see how strong you really are."

---

Without warning, the figure unleashed a wave of dark energy, sending them all stumbling back. Chirag barely managed to hold onto his flame, but the force of the attack was overwhelming. Siya's wind struggled to block the blow, and Kael was thrown to the ground.

But even in the face of this terrifying force, Chirag refused to give up. His flames flared brighter, pushing back against the dark energy. Siya's wind swirled around her, creating a shield of protection, while Kael stood back up, determination in his eyes.

"We can't let this creature control us," Chirag said, his voice steady. "We have to fight together."

With a roar, Chirag launched himself at the figure, his flames blazing in a powerful attack. Siya and Kael followed, each using their abilities to support him. The figure retaliated, sending waves of energy crashing down upon them, but they held their ground.

They knew this fight wasn't just about defeating the figure. It was about standing against the past—against the darkness that threatened to consume everything they had fought for. Together, they could overcome this.
