Going back to the facility, a few hours ago...
Yuruki watched Yoku leave, waving lazily."Oh, he's leaving... well, whatever."
She turned to Adam."So... Adam, do you think all of this is a coincidence? You, something—no, an organism—with no ancestor from this planet, as if you didn't exist at all...?"
Her eyes stared straight into him.
Adam shifted uncomfortably, a bead of sweat running down his head.Damn... how much does this woman know?
She smiled."Anyway, 'coincidence'... it's just a word, right?" She motioned him to follow.
They walked deeper into the branching halls of the facility. Finally, she opened a door—
It was a colorful room filled with blinking lights and headsets, dozens of old PCs scattered around. Decorations dangled everywhere, cobbled together with whatever scraps she could find.
Yuruki smirked."Well, I did a little bit of designing."
Without warning, she dove headfirst onto a futon and yanked a headset onto her head.
Adam blinked.-_- She's a gamer. Not what he expected at all, not in a dying world. Not that he minded... he used to watch U-tube videos of indie games all the time.
It had been his dream once — but dreams needed money, equipment, things he never had.All he had was a 16GB phone, 2GB RAM... barely enough to run anything.Even worse, most games needed money to buy.He gave up before he could even start — just a fan, a watcher.
He walked closer. There were titles he vaguely recognized: Little Darkness, Omoki, Yumi Noku, One-Try, Underquest.
Games... eerily familiar.
Yuruki giggled and began explaining them, one after another."There's this one where a person falls underground and tries to climb their way back up... but I can't decide which is my favorite."
She patted the pillow next to her, inviting him to join. She had already played them all.
And so it went on for hours: Adam getting pummeled, dying over and over. How do those YouTubers do this without getting angry? He groaned internally.
Yuruki smiles as he was annihilated by a funny-looking skeleton boss."Well... trial and repeat, right?"
She smiled brightly.
"This... if only I lived in the Ancients' time," she said wistfully."I'd make music, create games, write novels...!"
She clapped her hands together, her eyes sparkling with imagination.
Then, another idea struck her — she dragged Adam down another hallway. He just sighed and followed.But... this is fun. This is life.
They entered a room filled with robots organizing expired foods, spices, and additives.Yuruki threw on a PPE suit and shouted,
"NOW! My next dream—become a chef!"
She began slicing and dicing meat, onions, garlic, ginger. The smell of vinegar, soy sauce, and spices filled the air.
Adam found himself helping, lifting a giant rice bag onto a metal table.
The sizzling sounds... the smell...Why am I doing this...?But it smells so good...
Rice crackled in the pan, meat seared to perfection.Yuruki, huffing and sweaty, smiled proudly.
"Oh, that's not all!" she beamed.
Next came baking — mixing flour, powdered milk, sugar, salt, yeast, water. She pounded the dough, annoyed when it stubbornly refused to cooperate.Adam helped knead and shape it into better form.
Then he accidentally drops it on the ground... "Whoops"
Yuruki in a calm expression, "Well dont worry, I always like doing it again..." as she scoops up the dirty dough to the recycling dumpster, hoping it could be used by the AI
Minutes later — a feast.Soft bread, sizzling chicken and beef, golden fried rice.
Adam ate slowly, savoring every bite. The meat broke apart tenderly. The rice crunched lightly. The bread was sticky and soft in his mouth.
Yuruki watched him silently, her chin resting in her hand, smiling gently. She barely ate herself — just a few bites. taking the urge to not eat it all
A few hours on going around and having fun of the facility, music room, playground and there's even a battleground, and different other
As she said "The Mya always have many hobbites and curiosity on everything so thats why there's many different branches on the facility specifically to not get bored"
Yuruki stretch out her hands "Alright, i think its time for me to work..."
Adam felt a bit weirded as if somethings gonna happen... "Yeah, i think ill be heading out... your really not gonna leave this place"
...Silence
"No, i have a duty to fullfill..." as she smirks "Beside this place is the best"
As she heads back to the main room, analyzing and transcripting codes of gene of information of different animals, and humans, trying to find a way to find a solution to the decay of organisms.
While Adam got out of the facility alone, he was lying there alone as there were no vehicles to transport him... "Ugh yoku!" is he gonna walk kilometers away off the settlement? Heck no.
Sigh im so stupid why did i forgot...thinking to himself there has to be a way
