Chapter 20 - Unsent Letters

Alea sat by her bedroom window, the moonlight casting silver shadows on her desk.

Her fingers trembled slightlyas she stared at the blank page in front of her.

She had started and crumpled this letter four times already. This would be the fifth.

She wasn't even sure why she was writing it.Maybe to feel lighter.Maybe to feel… heard.

"Dear Rayzen,"

The pen paused.

"I know you probably think I hate you.And… maybe I did.Maybe I still do.A little."

She smiled to herself—soft, broken.

"But you're everywhere.Loud.Annoying.And somehow…always there when I'm about to fall."

She looked out the window, the night was calm. But her heart wasn't.

"I don't want to like someone like you.I don't want to get involved in your world. It's too dark.Too close to the pain I've been running from."

Her pen slowed.

"But you make it hard."

She exhaled deeply.

"You're reckless.But kind.Dangerous.But safe."

She folded the paper neatly.

Didn't sign it.Didn't seal it.

Just tucked it beneath her pillow—where it would stay.

Because words like theseweren't meant to be heard.

Not yet.
