Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

"But how do you guys even use these eyes? Dig them out again and just... put them back in?"

Hatake Satoru leaned on Shisui's shoulder and reached out to grab the bottle.

"?"

Shisui gave him a weird look, unsure if Hatake Satoru was joking or actually being serious.

He pulled the bottle away and held it to the side, just in case the guy actually tried to snatch it.

"I mean, we're talking about eye removal here. Why does it sound so casual coming from you?"

Just hearing the word "dig" made Shisui's eye sockets throb a little.

These weren't just any eyes—they didn't fall out on their own.

Back then, he'd made that decision with the thought of dying.

But now, it was a completely different situation.

"Aren't Uchiha eyes kind of like USB sticks anyway? Plug and play. Swap and go."

Hatake Satoru grinned and waved his fingers in front of his eyepatch, making gestures to match his words.

What a jerk.

Shisui didn't know what a USB stick was, but based on the hand movements, he got the idea.

That was such a rude way to talk about someone's eyes.

And he basically insulted the entire Uchiha clan with one sentence.

Shisui tilted his head and sighed deeply.

"That's not how it works at all! And even if it were, it's not something that should come out of someone who doesn't even show their own eyes!"

"Pfft."

Right as Shisui and Hatake Satoru were bickering about how to use the eye, Itachi suddenly let out a laugh beside them.

Both of them turned to look at him.

Itachi still had a slight smile on his face and gave a fake little cough.

Hatake Satoru nodded knowingly and exchanged a look with Shisui.

"Got it. Someone wants to offer up their eyes voluntarily."

"Should've said so, Mr. One-vs-Seven."

Seeing the two about to team up and mess with him, Itachi quickly took two steps back.

A burst of black feathers suddenly scattered from his body.

Feathers fell from the sky, and a crow landed neatly on Itachi's hand.

The beady black eyes of the crow spun around, changing into a bright red Mangekyou Sharingan.

"Just store it in the crow," Itachi explained helpfully to Hatake Satoru.

"That's so cool. Why'd you keep it in a bottle?"

Hatake Satoru nudged Shisui with his elbow.

"...Can you please act normal for once? Your personality is seriously the worst!"

Shisui liked to think he was pretty patient, but anyone with a normal brain would probably lose ten years of their life just dealing with someone like Hatake Satoru.

He started syncing the crow with the Sharingan.

Even though he was the one doing it, this method—putting his eye in a crow—wasn't what he was used to.

And this time, it wasn't just about casting Genjutsu on a few Uchiha.

This time, it was aimed at the entire village!

The Hokage, Danzo, the Anbu, Root—whether elite ninja or regular civilians.

Shisui was going to use Kotoamatsukami to rewrite everyone's memories!

How full of himself would someone have to be to even come up with a plan like that?

Shisui glanced at Hatake Satoru, who stood there like it was no big deal.

But thinking about it another way, maybe it was a kind of trust.

Hatake Satoru believed in his power enough to let him try something this crazy.

Once he accepted that idea, Shisui started to feel a little fired up.

Two eyes using Kotoamatsukami at the same time…

Hatake Satoru rubbed his chin, looking excited.

In the anime, it had always just been one eye.

Even though it was highly praised, the power had dropped a lot—besides, the ones using it weren't Shisui himself.

He was really looking forward to this huge Genjutsu setup.

Don't let me down, Shisui.

While Hatake Satoru was half-thinking about all this, his Six Eyes suddenly picked up a moving light.

The Root and Anbu agents had already left, and judging by the body type and movement—

A wicked smile suddenly spread across Hatake Satoru's face. Right away, Itachi and Shisui both had a bad feeling about it.

This guy! He's definitely up to something again.

"I've got a little gift for your brother."

Hatake Satoru turned his head slightly, put his hand up to his mouth, and whispered something to Itachi.

Itachi raised his eyebrows a few times while listening, then hesitantly looked at Hatake Satoru.

"Like this...?"

"Do we really have a better plan than this?"

"It's all for your brother's growth!"

With a classic scheming grin on his face, Hatake Satoru got a small nod from Itachi.

"Alright, should we start now?"

A crow stood on Shisui's hand, its Sharingan perfectly aligned with his eye.

Hatake Satoru tilted his head back and gave Shisui an "OK" sign.

"Kotoamatsukami!"

The Mangekyou Sharingan in the crow's eye instantly began to spin. Blood tears started pouring out from its wide, straining eyes.

The crow flapped its wings and took off, shaking loose a feather that split into hundreds, then thousands of crows.

The swarm let out hoarse, chilling cries as they shot toward the village like a black wave.

The dark sky and the bright moon were both stained blood-red.

Sleeping villagers, Anbu and Root agents rushing through the streets—none of them noticed a thing.

The crows kept flying closer and closer to the center of the village, slowly circling around the Hokage's office.

Suddenly, a young and startled voice broke the eerie silence hanging over the Uchiha district.

"Nii-san! All those bodies outside…"

Sasuke froze in place. Most of Itachi's face was hidden in the dim shadows.

Hatake Satoru stood beside him, holding a blood-dripping mask in one hand, wearing a mocking smile as he looked straight at Sasuke.

Even without Itachi saying a word, the scene already explained everything.

The entrance to the district was littered with bodies. The whole area was a mess.

He hadn't even made it home yet when he saw the three figures standing not far away.

Itachi's narrow eyes lowered slightly, and the Sharingan spinning in his pupils stared directly at Sasuke.

A blood-red sky stretched overhead, the ground covered in corpses.

All the nearby houses were dark. The silence and darkness swallowed everything.

Sasuke watched helplessly as Itachi raised and swung his blade over and over again, cutting down familiar faces one by one.

Wide-open eyes. Blood pouring out without stopping.

Sasuke could almost feel the warm blood splashing onto his own face.

He couldn't run. Couldn't hide.

"Ahhhh—!"

Clutching his head, Sasuke shut his eyes tight and dropped to his knees with a thud.

His throat kept choking out the sounds of vomiting. Tears and drool dripped steadily onto the ground.

Even with his eyes closed and his ears covered, the Genjutsu kept forcing those images into his mind.

The shaky point of view rushed through his home, passing by one empty bedroom after another.

Through the wooden front door—

A flash of cold light swept across, and the sharp smell of blood burst from Fugaku and Mikoto, who were kneeling on the floor.

Their bodies swayed slightly before falling straight to the ground.

There were no signs of life left. Blood flowed from their wounds, slowly forming a pool on the floor.

Just like before, Itachi slowly turned his head.

The kind, gentle look he once had was gone. Itachi stared down at him with a blank face, the three-tomoe Sharingan in his eyes still and cold.

Blood was still dripping from the katana in his hand.

"No!! Dad! Mom!!"

Sasuke suddenly stood up, eyes wide open, the black in his eyes turning blood red.
