Chapter 67 - Living Next Door

After walking out of Fengming Palace, Li Tian said to Zhang Yuhe,"Junior brother, I'm going to go back and pack up first. I'll meet you at your place later."

"Good," Zhang Yuhe replied.

With that, the two of them parted ways.

A little while later, Zhang Yuhe arrived at the mountain gate and welcomed Wang Guofeng into the sect. Then, he went to Yinhe Peak to pack his things before flying to his new cave on the mountain.

"This place is really nice," Zhang Yuhe said as he stood above a huge lake, gazing at the two mountains in the distance. A feeling of happiness spread through him.

The surrounding environment seemed peaceful at first glance. He had always preferred living in places with both mountains and water. What was Shanshui Villa compared to this? It seemed trivial in comparison.

The two mountains stood side by side, about the same size, separated by a distance of several dozen miles. The small islands they were on each had a radius of hundreds of miles. Compared to his old cave at Galaxy Peak, this place was much larger—worthy of being the residence of an elder.

Zhang Yuhe took Wang Guofeng and flew to the small island on the left. This was the mountain he had chosen, still named Yinhe Peak. The small island on the right, by contrast, was Li Tian's cave, called Wangxian Peak.

Li Tian might appear arrogant, but he was actually not difficult to get along with, and Zhang Yuhe admired him. From the name of the mountain, it was clear that Li Tian was a cultivator who truly aspired to immortality. After all, it was no small feat to break through to the Void Refinement Realm in less than nine hundred years.

Although Li Tian's talent far exceeded that of ordinary people, in the history of Daosheng Sect, many disciples had extraordinary potential, yet only a few had actually succeeded in the end. Zhang Yuhe was very optimistic about Li Tian and believed that he had a great chance of surviving the great calamity and ascending to the immortal world. Perhaps, one day, they would cross paths in the fairyland.

As for Zhang Yuhe, he had never worried about his own ascension. For him, transcending the tribulation and ascending to the heavens was just a matter of time.

Zhang Yuhe took Wang Guofeng and flew swiftly to the top of Yinhe Peak. At the summit, there were pavilions and terraces, all in perfect condition. It was a far cry from when he had first entered the inner gate and had to build his own house. Back then, he would have had to sleep outdoors if no residence had been provided.

Now, as a sect elder, his treatment was far superior to that of an inner disciple. Although no one had lived here before, people still came periodically to maintain it. This was part of the duties assigned to the outer disciples.

Zhang Yuhe took in the surroundings for a moment before he came to an open space at the top of the mountain. He turned to Wang Guofeng and said,"Go find a big stone and erect a monument here."

"Yes, senior." Wang Guofeng quickly turned into a stream of light and searched for a suitable stone near the mountainside.

After a short time, he returned carrying a huge stone. Zhang Yuhe waved his right hand, and the stone was instantly shaped into a stone tablet. He then summoned his sword light, which surged out and began carving the words into the stone.

Soon, the three large characters "Yinhe Peak" appeared on the stone tablet, glowing as if the sword light within them might burst forth at any moment.

"Milky Way," Zhang Yuhe muttered to himself. Then, he suddenly turned around and asked Wang Guofeng,"Have you ever flown deep into space on Blue Planet?"

Space was vast and boundless, but a cultivator's flying speed was far from comparable to the speed of a rocket. Even a Jindan cultivator like Wang Guofeng could not match the speed of a spacecraft. Exploring space in the flesh was no small task.

Wang Guofeng had always been more focused on his cultivation than on exploring the mysteries of the universe. Aside from a trip to the moon, he hadn't ventured farther.

He answered,"I haven't tried it, but I heard that a fellow Taoist from Blue Star once flew to Mars. However, he didn't find anything special there."

Zhang Yuhe nodded. He was only asking out of curiosity.

As his cultivation level grew, he had developed his own understanding of the connections between worlds. He believed that Blue Star, Yu Fantian, the Demon Realm, and the Immortal World must exist in separate universes or dimensions. If the Demon Realm and Yu Fantian were in the same universe, the demons would have used spaceships to invade rather than opening a portal between worlds.

As Zhang Yuhe was lost in these thoughts, a streak of light suddenly flashed from a distance. An exquisite flying boat soon arrived at the top of Yinhe Peak. Along with Li Tian, there were four other people on the boat.

Judging by their attire, it was clear they weren't disciples of Daosheng Sect. Like Wang Guofeng, they were likely followers brought into the sect by Li Tian.

Li Tian, as an elder of Daosheng Sect, needed help managing various tasks. It would have been unacceptable for him to handle everything on his own. Zhang Yuhe had heard that some elders had many wives and concubines in their caves, living like miniature kingdoms.

The flying boat landed, and Li Tian said to the four followers,"This is Elder Zhang. Come and greet him."

The four followers, all dressed in blue, greeted Zhang Yuhe in unison,"Meet Elder Zhang."

Zhang Yuhe waved his hand in acknowledgment and gestured to Wang Guofeng,"This is Elder Li Tianli. You've met him."

After introductions were made, Li Tian and his followers left. The main purpose of their visit was simply to say hello and allow their followers to get acquainted. In the future, when traveling within the sect, they could look out for each other.

After all, Li Tian and Zhang Yuhe would likely spend most of their time cultivating, and their followers would handle the more mundane tasks. It made sense for the followers to know one another, as they could exchange information and take care of each other.

The names of Li Tian's followers were easy to remember and rather amusing: Wind, Rain, Thunder, and Lightning.

They were all descendants of Li Tian's family, and their cultivation levels were not as high as Wang Guofeng's. All of them were still in the Foundation Establishment stage. However, it was normal to expect this. Jindan cultivators were rare, and they weren't easily found in every corner of Yufantian.

To be honest, it almost felt like a waste of Wang Guofeng's talent to have him serve as one of their followers. But of course, Wang Guofeng didn't mind. He would not lose out by following Li Tian.

Once everything was settled, Zhang Yuhe turned to Wang Guofeng and said,"Just find a place to stay near the mountain."

He then took out a jade bottle and handed it to Wang Guofeng."This is the Nascent Soul Pill. Practice hard and strive to break through to the Nascent Soul stage as soon as possible."

"Thank you for your cultivation, senior." Wang Guofeng took the jade bottle, his excitement evident.

The Nascent Soul Pill was an important elixir that assisted Jindan cultivators in breaking through to the Nascent Soul stage. Normally, these pills were only available through major sects, and even if players tried to buy them with spirit stones, they would struggle to find any.

But for Zhang Yuhe, it was just a casual item.

"Okay, go and practice on your own," Zhang Yuhe said. "I'll need you to do something in a few days."

With that, he walked toward the cave at the center of the mountain top.
