Chapter 35 - Thriller Bark

Gojo Satoru, shirtless, had just left Shoko, still dazed from their intense exchange. His skin was glistening with sweat, his white hair disheveled, and a smug smile played on his lips. He approached the Snailphone, dialing Mei Mei's number.

The Snailphone emitted a guttural sound, then Mei Mei's voice echoed, warm and cheerful. "Gojo-taichou! Already missing me?"

Her teasing tone brought a amused smirk to Gojo's face. He could almost see her sly smile, her lips painted in a deep red.

"Mei-chan, always so direct," he replied, his voice low and drawling, tinged with a hint of seduction. He leaned against the wall. "But this time, it's serious."

Gojo's tone, though light, carried a gravity that Mei Mei immediately grasped. On the other end of the line, Mei Mei was lounging on a purple velvet couch, one leg elegantly crossed over the other. Her long hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her slightly open silk kimono revealed the delicate curve of her collarbone.

"Hmm, serious, you say?" she murmured, her voice sliding like honey. She sat up slightly, her kimono sliding further, revealing the creamy skin of her thigh. "Tell me everything, taichou. I love it when you talk business..." She let out a soft, almost provocative laugh, playing with a strand of hair wrapped around her finger.

Gojo, sensing the implication, couldn't help but smile. He ran a hand through his hair, his fingers grazing his still warm neck. "Always so insatiable, Mei-chan. But listen carefully..."

He explained the situation: a Thriller Bark attack on one of their convoys, a significant loss of resources, and a direct insult to their authority. His voice, although calm, was marked with irritation.

On her end, Mei Mei listened attentively, analyzing the situation. She had risen from her couch, her kimono brushing the floor with a rustle. She approached a large window overlooking the ocean, her hips swaying slightly with each step. "I see..." she murmured, her voice deeper. "Thriller Bark dared to. How arrogant."

She paused, then added, "For this mission, I want double the value lost, taichou."

Gojo burst into a hearty laugh. "As always, Mei-chan. Always negotiating, even with me." He stopped, then continued, "But you know I never refuse a good deal. Especially when you're the one proposing it."

At these words, Mei Mei smiled, her lips stretching into a sensual curve. She leaned against the window sill, her body slightly arched, the fabric of her kimono hugging her curves. "Oh, Gojo-taichou, you know how to talk to women," she whispered. "But tell me..." She lowered her voice, adopting a more intimate, almost whispered tone. "If I do you this favor, what do I get in return?"

Gojo raised an eyebrow, his smile widening. "When all this is settled, come to the main island. We'll discuss... your reward."

A laugh escaped Mei Mei, resonating like a melody in the room. "I love these kinds of promises, taichou. Consider it a deal." She turned away from the window, going to sit at her desk.

The conversation ended with a discreet click of the Snailphone. Mei Mei replaced the receiver, her lips stretching into a satisfied smile. Without further delay, she dialed another number, and a detached voice answered almost immediately.

"Mei? What's up?" The nonchalant voice belonged to a man evidently lounging somewhere on a secluded island in the Grand Line, probably surrounded by empty bottles and warm sand.

"Gojo-taichou has a mission for you," Mei Mei replied, her tone returning to professional, though tinged with a hint of amusement. She relayed the details, each word carefully weighed to ensure no mistakes would be made. When she hung up, she felt a presence behind her.

Ui Ui, her younger brother, appeared, holding a steaming cup of tea. His hair, similar to his sister's, sparkled in the candlelight. "Those idiots from Thriller Bark," he commented as he poured the tea with precision. "Attacking us... What a mistake on their part."

Mei Mei took the cup, her fingers brushing against Ui Ui's. "They underestimated Gojo-taichou. And us." She brought the cup to her lips, savoring the floral aroma of the tea. "We could have claimed Moria's bounty of 320,000,000 Berries, that's not nothing," she sighed, her pragmatism taking over. "But his status as a Warlord complicates things. It will have to wait for another time."

Ui Ui nodded, sitting across from her. "I hope nothing serious happens, knowing his personality?"

Mei Mei smiled, her eyes sparkling with a mischievous gleam. "Oh, don't worry. Thriller Bark will learn the cost of defying Gojo's crew."

Meanwhile, on the main island, Gojo had stepped away from the laboratory. He stopped near a cliff overlooking the sea, the wind playing with his hair. His thoughts drifted for a moment to Mei Mei – her boldness, her intelligence, and the way she always got what she wanted. A sly smile stretched his lips. "Cunning Mei-chan," he murmured to himself. Then, his gaze hardened, turning towards the horizon. Thriller Bark would pay. And he would ensure that the message was etched in the memories of all, including the World Government.
