Chapter 19 - THE HIDDEN DRAGON

CHEN YU'S VILLA — PRIVATE STUDY — NIGHT

Chen Yu sat alone at his desk, a dim lamp casting a sharp glow over the documents spread out before him.

Acquisition plans. Investment strategies. Corporate war maps.

He tapped a pen against the table, lost in thought.

"Titan Corporation suddenly pulled back... Zhao Conglomerate's defenses are falling apart... But why? I didn't even make my move yet."

He narrowed his eyes, sensing something off.

No matter how smart or fast he was, it shouldn't have been this easy to unsettle monsters like Qin Yuze.

"Did someone clear the path for me...?"

But no name came to mind. Chen Yu chuckled coldly to himself.

"No. Impossible. I have no family, no backing. It's just luck."

He leaned back in his chair, staring up at the ceiling.

"Or maybe..."

"I'm simply better than all of them."

The thought made him grin.

He picked up a different file — his next target: Han Financial Group, a mid-tier conglomerate with deep political ties.

If he could take them down, his influence would surge even further.

Ruxue knocked gently on the door.

"Yu-ge, it's late. Come rest."

He glanced over at her, her soft smile making some of the coldness in his heart ease.

Meiyun was close behind her, holding two glasses of warm milk.

"You'll burn out if you keep pushing," Meiyun said, her voice light but concerned.

Chen Yu closed the file and smiled slightly.

"Alright. One night of peace."

The three of them moved to the cozy lounge area. The soft hum of the city below seemed distant, insignificant compared to the small, warm world they shared here.

But deep inside Chen Yu's mind, the fire never stopped burning.

"Empire first," he thought. "Then everything else."

MEANWHILE — SOMEWHERE IN A SECRET LOCATION

Inside a hidden ancestral hall decorated with ancient calligraphy and ancestral tablets, an elder of the Chen Family sat sipping tea.

A younger man knelt before him, head bowed.

"Grand Elder, Chen Yu remains unaware of our existence," the young man reported. "We intervened in the Titan Corporation case. No traces lead back to us."

The Grand Elder nodded calmly.

"Good. Let him grow through hardship. Let him struggle, fight, and rise. A dragon raised in a cage is weak. A dragon raised in the wild... is invincible."

His eyes gleamed with ancient wisdom.

"When the Event comes, only the true dragons will soar. And Chen Yu... must soar higher than anyone."

BACK TO CHEN YU — THE NEXT DAY

The morning sun broke over Tianxu City.

Chen Yu stood on the balcony again, coffee in hand, suit sharp, expression even sharper.

A new day.

A new war.

A new step toward the throne.

"Come at me," he whispered to the world. "I'll tear you all apart if I have to."

He had no idea that far beyond his sight, forces were already moving — watching, guiding, preparing...

For a destiny greater than he could ever imagine.

QIN FAMILY MAIN HALL — SECRET MEETING

The grand hall of the Qin Family exuded a silent authority — ancient wooden beams, intricate dragon carvings, and a massive golden plaque that read: "Honor Above All."

Seated at the head of a long, polished table was Qin Zhengyang, the current Patriarch of the Qin Family.

Powerful elders and core family members sat on either side, their expressions grave.

At the center of the table, a projection displayed Chen Yu's photo — young, calm, with eyes that didn't match his age.

"This boy..." one of the elders muttered, tapping the table lightly, "has started shaking the core industries of Tianxu City."

Qin Zhengyang remained silent for a moment, fingers steepled under his chin.

Then he spoke, his voice deep and commanding:

"He is not an ordinary player. He took down Titan Corporation's defenses without even moving directly."

A sharp silence fell over the room.

One of the younger Qin family heirs couldn't help but blurt out:

"Grandfather, shall we suppress him early? Before he grows too big to handle?"

Another elder shook his head slowly.

"We tried. We moved through Qin Yuze. And yet… someone even bigger intervened."

Everyone turned tense.

"Who?" the Patriarch asked sharply.

"The Chen Family."

A heavy weight seemed to press into the hall.

The Chen Family — their only true equals in hidden power. Silent, dominant, and utterly ruthless when protecting their own.

Qin Zhengyang's face remained stoic, but his eyes flashed coldly.

"So... he belongs to the Chen Family?"

"We don't know for sure," the intelligence head said cautiously. "But the Chen Family made it clear. No one is to touch him."

"Tch. Another hidden dragon," one elder sneered under his breath.

"More importantly," Qin Zhengyang said slowly, tapping the table, "he's not relying on the Chen Family. He's building everything with his own hands."

That made the room fall into a deeper silence.

A dragon without a cage…

A wolf growing without a leash...

Such a figure was dangerous — not just to their enemies — but even to themselves.

"Prepare two plans," Qin Zhengyang finally commanded.

"One, if he remains neutral — we rope him in."

"Two, if he becomes hostile—" His gaze sharpened like a blade.

"—we crush him before he matures."

The meeting adjourned with silent nods.

But deep inside the heart of the Qin Family, a rare sense of caution had taken root.

They had faced countless enemies before.

But Chen Yu...

Chen Yu was not just an enemy in the making.

He was a future king.

And kings were far harder to kill once they wore their crowns.

(Meanwhile, back at Chen Yu's side — he continues working, unaware that the true giants of China are already watching and planning around him.)
