Chapter 13 - Ceremony Concludes.

Drekk didn't have to wait long because Byung rejoined them and the orcs hanging on his arms were smitten by him.

"This energy…!" Murkfang thought, surprised that the orcs showed public affection to another species.

Especially a goblin, one of the most despicable races to grace this earth due to their weakness, and orcs were big on strength.

This showed Byung had somehow conquered these women or they wouldn't be doing this in the first place.

The proof of this was the other goblins who all came out alone, and 008 was the only one who didn't look jealous among their ranks.

Murkfang was more surprised than anything but this wasn't good for Byung because Drekk had seen it firsthand.

They were chatting and giggling. Byung looked flustered by the attention he was getting because every other species in there had eyes on them.

They finally let Byung go but gave him an invitation to come back whenever he pleased and were willing to offer their service to him for free.

Murkfang understood this was a big deal because it took a lot for them to get laid, even with his sweet mouth involved.

008 rushed towards Byung with a smile on his face; he was impressed by his new friend and knew that it would do more good to him if he got along well with him.

There was something about him and 008 knew there was no downside in being friends with him.

Envy would be a silly thing to harbour, but the other two goblins looked irritated.

"Congratulations!" 008 said. Byung didn't know how to react to this.

"Thank you," Byung let out a whimper.

He wondered if all of them had the same experience and was eager to tell them what the orcs said to him but had to monitor things further.

Byung's eyes glanced around the room and knew Drekk was bad news without being introduced.

Murkfang's body language supported this claim.

"Look at you…" Drekk said, walking towards Byung with an eerie smile plastered across his face.

008 instantly took a step back so Drekk would have an uninterrupted passage to Byung.

Byung was uncomfortable, and who could blame him?

Drekk leaned and sniffed Byung like some sort of animal.

"What the hell is his deal?" Byung thought to himself. He dared not utter these words.

Drekk glanced over his shoulder and glared at Murkfang with intent.

The air instantly became heavy, and Byung trembled despite him not being the recipient of this intent.

"Murkfang, you have quite the goblin here. Did you not plan to tell me about him?" Drekk knew the answer to this question, and if it was a favourable one, he wouldn't have done what he did to Gribnox.

"I-I did," Murkfang's voice trembled in fear.

"I was just promoted and I do not know if this is important, but I just met my boss tonight," Byung lied out of his tooth to Murkfang's surprise.

"We just met, and he might be trying to protect me, but I got into trouble earlier," Byung added, but this caught Drekk's attention.

"Trouble?" Drekk responded, and Byung could tell he might have made a mistake.

"Yes, I ventured deeper into the mine—" Byung felt a hand wrap around his neck, cutting his sentence short.

"I-I can't breathe!" Byung thought to himself.

This goblin was strong; this had to be superhuman strength at this point.

Everyone watched in horror because they knew there was nothing they could do.

"Why do you speak to me casually?" Drekk asked, watching Byung fight for his life.

"Or do you want me to keep a part of you instead? Your head, perhaps," Drekk added.

Byung could feel his eyes rolling to the back of his head, but the rush of oxygen soon granted him some relief.

He dropped to his knees, gasping for air with tears welling up in his eyes.

The rules still existed; they weren't allowed to kill other goblins, and this was a rule Drekk followed.

However, he had other means to make them compliant.

"Murkfang, send me your report first thing in the morning. I don't think I need to tell you what will happen if you don't, do I?" Drekk threatened him outright.

"U-Understood, sir," Murkfang nodded. Drekk left soon after, leaving the goblins with a bittersweet feeling.

Byung was still on the floor before 008 rushed to his aid and helped him to his feet.

But Byung had taken a very important step with his relationship with Murkfang.

He stuck his head out for him, another trait not known amongst goblins as they would always put themselves first.

"Why did you do that?" Murkfang asked Byung.

"Because I knew you were in trouble," Byung responded, prompting a wave of silence to follow.

This was all temporary as they would all be relocated the following day.

This was rather fast, but they had all successfully become adults with Byung being one of the youngest they had seen in quite some time.

This showed he was either a prodigy or something a lot more dangerous due to his high intellect.

But Murkfang was the only one with this knowledge; he couldn't allow the others to know this either.
