Everyone was gasping for breath, the signs of their escape still clearly etched on their faces, but Mohamed did not allow fear to take hold of them.
Five of Jeros' creatures burst into the house with savage speed. Their twisted and deformed bodies moved in an almost animalistic way, their red eyes gleaming with a merciless madness.
They leapt over tables and walls, moving with shocking fluidity.
Mustafa (shouting as he fends off a creature):
"They're too fast!"
Mohamed (striking a creature with his sword and pushing it away):
"Aim for the heart or the head! Don't waste your strength on the limbs!"
Jacky (retreating backwards):
"They don't feel pain!!"
As the battle raged violently, Jeros stood at the entrance of the house, leaning on a twisted staff, watching the scene unfold with a wicked smile curling his lips.
Jeros (mockingly):
"Where is the brave warrior who sold everything for fleeting power? Mohamed, do you remember Youssef... and the others? You left them to die just to become a leader!"
Mohamed (slashing at another creature with force, shouting):
"I did what I had to do so the others could survive!"
Jeros (narrowing his eyes):
"You lied... and you will pay the price here... in this house."
As the sounds of battle escalated, Mohamed advanced toward Jeros, his eyes burning with rage that had been building for years.
Mohamed, his sword gleaming under the flickering light, charged at Jeros with unshakable determination, a roaring cry erupting straight from his heart:
Mohamed (shouting as he swings his sword):
"Youssef... Today, we'll leave together forever!!"
Jeros smiled coldly, raising his twisted staff to block the first blow. Sword and staff clashed, releasing a burst of sparks that tore through the surrounding darkness.
Jeros (grinning as he shoves Mohamed back):
"I have waited so long for this moment... To die alongside a friend of the past... and an enemy of the present. What a fitting end!"
Mohamed lunged again, unleashing a whirlwind of rapid, furious strikes. He attacked relentlessly, with all the rage and grief bottled up inside him.
Yet Jeros, armed with the experience of countless years, danced around him with eerie grace, deflecting each blow, parrying each thrust as if they were locked in a deadly waltz.
Every clash, every cry, carried the scent of old betrayals and unspoken regrets.
The scene briefly shifted to the others ,
Mustafa fought fiercely against two of the monstrous creatures.
Adam shielded Sara and Omar, who frantically searched for a way out.
Meanwhile, Rayan stood still, watching Mohamed and Jeros battle, his eyes filled with dread and sorrow.
Mustafa (yelling as he impales a creature):
"Mohamed needs us!"
Adam (smashing a creature's head with a heavy bat):
"No! This is his fight alone!"
The focus snapped back to Mohamed and Jeros.
Jeros (circling around Mohamed):
"Tell me, Mohamed... Do you dream of them every night? Do you hear the screams of those you left behind?"
Mohamed (voice shaking as he strikes):
"Every night... Until I memorized their screams more than my prayers!"
Jeros let out a deep, dark laugh, then lunged with his staff, nearly breaking through Mohamed's defenses.
But Mohamed spun swiftly, counterattacking and slashing a deep wound across Jeros's arm.
Jeros (gritting his teeth but smiling):
"Well done... murderer!"
The battle intensified, every second bringing them closer to the inevitable end.
A-midst the blood and heavy breaths, Mustafa stood swaying, blood streaming from a deep wound on his shoulder. Omar, Sarah, Adam, and Rayan, along with two other survivors , Fahd and Layla , gathered around, panting heavily as they watched the bodies of Jeros' followers fall one after another.
They had won... but the cost was devastating.
Only six of them remained from the once-large team.
Omar approached Mohamed, shouting with a hoarse voice:
Omar (trying to smile):
"Show them, father... Show them who you are!"
Sarah (her eyes tearing up as she screamed):
"Kill him! Show no mercy, just as he showed us none!"
Adam (shouting angrily):
"Burn his heart like he burned ours!"
Fahd (gripping his bleeding side):
"That dog betrayed us all! Don't hesitate!"
Layla (gasping through her sobs):
"You are our last hope, Mohamed!"
Focus returns to Mohamed and Jeros' battle.
Mohamed charged with his sword, launching savage, relentless attacks.
Jeros barely managed to block them, each strike carrying the weight of pain, anger, and buried regrets.
Jeros (screaming as he parried):
"You were one of us, Mohamed! You were my brother! You betrayed us! You betrayed everyone! You betrayed me!"
Mohamed (attacking wildly):
"I betrayed myself before I betrayed any of you...!"
Jeros (circling, dodging the blows):
"All those who died... they died for your empty dreams of power!! Do you remember my blood on your hands?!"
Mohamed (voice filled with sorrow and rage):
"I carry their blood within my soul!"
In a sudden, deceptive move, Mohamed feinted towards Jeros' chest, then struck him with a brutal stab to the leg.
Jeros (screaming as he fell to the ground):
"Aaargh!!"
Jeros sat on the ground, breathing heavily, raising his hand toward Mohamed.
Jeros (with a broken voice):
"Please... kill me... end this suffering..."
Everyone shouted together:
Sarah, Omar, Adam, Rayan, Fahd, Layla (in unison):
"Kill him!! Show no mercy!!"
But Mohamed shocked them all by lowering his sword and saying with a hoarse, sorrowful voice:
Mohamed (his voice cracking):
"No... I won't kill my friend and brother... I will die with him..."
He lifted his gaze toward the sky, his eyes shining:
Mohamed (whispering deeply):
"Go, Yusuf... prepare yourself... I can already smell the scent of Paradise..."
Jeros, barely able to stand, leaned on his twisted staff and rose slowly.
Jeros (weakly):
"We will meet again, Mohamed... but before I go, there is something you must know..."
Everyone fell silent, their hearts pounding.
Jeros (laughing with bitter sarcasm):
"The leader of the People of the Last Silence is planning to attack all the sectors here... and seize them completely."
Then, Jeros stumbled out of the house, disappearing into the shadows.
Everyone was stunned.
Omar (shocked):
"All the sectors...?!"
Sarah (gripping Mohamed's hand):
"Impossible... If that happens... no one will survive..."
Adam (staggering):
"It means we were only the beginning..."
Rayan (in a low, grim voice):
"We are not ready for this war..."
Mohamed (slowly lowering his head):
"Yes... yes, Rayan... This isn't the end... it's just the beginning of the end."
A heavy silence fell over them, and the air grew heavier, as if it carried the ominous scent of an impending catastrophe.،
