Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: “The Message That Shouldn’t Exist”

Sunday – 10:17 AM

Yuuki's morning started like any other.

Lazy stretch.Half-opened eyes.Phone buzzing with a few random notifications.

Nothing special.

Until he saw it.

Unknown Number:"Since you like broken things so much, here's what you're really holding onto."

Attached was a file.

Yuuki hesitated.

Then tapped it.

His chest caved in.

Photos. Screenshots. Chat logs.

Arisa's old rental profile.Rates. Availability. Reviews.Private notes between her and clients — cold, emotionless, transactional.

It felt like swallowing glass.

It wasn't just the idea that she had a past.It was seeing it.

The business behind the girl who smiled at him like he was her world.

And worse—

Another message.

Unknown Number:"Still think you're the first one she made feel special?"

Yuuki's hands shook.

Not from anger.

From fear.

Because he wanted to believe none of it mattered.Because he knew Arisa now.Because the girl who sat by his side yesterday, laughing over bad manga and cheap ice cream, wasn't the same girl on those receipts.

But the images wouldn't leave his head.

That Afternoon – Arisa's Apartment

He stood outside her door for twenty minutes.

Just breathing.

Just breaking.

Finally, he knocked.

The door swung open almost instantly.Arisa, hoodie too big, eyes bright like always.

"Hey, you—" she stopped.

She saw it in his face. The hurt. The walls.

"What happened?" she whispered.

Yuuki didn't answer.

He just held up his phone.

Showed her the message.

Watched the light drain from her eyes.

She covered her mouth, staggered back a step, like the ground had just cracked under her.

"I didn't— I didn't want you to see it like that," she choked out.

Yuuki's voice was low. Broken."Were you ever going to tell me?"

She opened her mouth.

Closed it.

Tears gathered at the corners of her eyes.

And Yuuki hated himself for how much he still wanted to wipe them away.
