Chapter 9 - Tangle in the night.

The waiter placed the dishes down gently.—with quiet elegance.

Sooyaa stared at her plate. It looked too perfect. Almost unreal.

"Should I eat it or frame it?" she mumbled, half to herself.

Taehyung leaned back in his seat. "Your choice."

She shot him a side glance but couldn't stop a small smile. Taking a careful bite of the soufflé, her eyes widened. It was rich, delicate—nothing like the convenience store meals she was used to.

"This… is actually amazing," she admitted.

"You think I'd bring you somewhere average huhhh ...?" he said, watching her reaction.

" Mr kim You had brought me here to talk about the proposal," she reminded, though her focus stayed on the food.

"I did."

Still, neither of them mentioned the proposal again. Silence hovered between them—not awkward, just heavy with something unspoken.

She took another bite, then asked, "Do you always drive around in your sports car, collecting lost employees at bus stops Mr kim?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

He chuckled lightly. "Only when they look like they might cry from missing a bus."

he replied coolly.

She gave him a glare. "I wasn't—"

He didn't respond, just smirked again.

Meanwhile, back at the apartment complex, Choi Yeonjun made his way downstairs to toss out the garbage. He muttered to himself, dragging the heavy trash bag behind him.

"Tae-hyung really goes wild in the kitchen… so much mess just for one bowl of pasta. But I have to admit—he really cooks like a professional chef."

As he tied the bag and tossed it into the dust bin, something caught his eye.

There, under the dim streetlight, was a woman sitting slumped on a bench. Her head nodded forward like she was dozing off.

Yeonjun laughed softly. "Who's sitting drunk alone at this hour?"

He stepped closer—and then paused. His eyes widened in recognition.

"Kang Hye-jin…?" he said under his breath.

She looked up at the sound of his voice, eyes hazy and cheeks flushed.

"Ohhh… Mr. Secretary!" she slurred, smiling wide. "You're here! Where's Mr kim tae hyung? You two are always glued together… Let me find him!"

She stood up abruptly, swaying as she looked around with exaggerated determination. "Mr kim! Mr kim tae hyung!....."

She squinted around dramatically, waving her arms like a kid playing hide and seek.

Watching Kang Hye-jin doing this cute things while drunk,

Yeonjun's eyes softened, despite the chaos around him.

"Where's your other half, huh? Where's Mr Kim Tae-hyung? You two are always stuck together with each other.! Like… conjoined twins! Like peanut butter and jelly!"

She turned in a wobbly circle, eyes scanning the shadows. "Mr kim tae hyung! Come out! I know you're hiding behind something expensive!"

She pouted her lips out and said,

"He's not here... hmmm."

Yeonjun chuckled, unable to stop the small laugh that escaped his lips. But as she turned, she stumbled. Before she could fall, he caught her by the shoulders—steadying her.

Their eyes met. Then she have sweet scent from yeonjun and says you smell really nice ....it's comforting.

For just a second, everything stilled. The street noise faded. Her perfume mixed with the night air. His hands lingered gently on her arms.

Then suddenly—

"Urgh…"

"Oh no—"

Before Yeonjun could move, Hye-jin leaned forward and… threw up (vomit). Right onto his shirt.

He blinked. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, looking embarrassed and half-conscious.

"Oops."

She began walking away—limping slightly.

Yeonjun's eyes dropped to her feet. One of her heels was bent at an awkward angle, and she was clearly in pain.

He sighed,

went over to her, knelt down without a word.

Carefully, he slipped off her heels, set them aside, and removed his own slippers. Gently, he slid them onto her feet.

She blinked down at him, half-drunk, half-shocked.

"There," he said softly. "Walk easier now."

 End of chapter 9*

Author's Thought:

Ohhh, our Yeonjun is such a green forest—so pure, so warm! Giving away his own slippers and walking barefoot without a second thought... A true gentleman in the middle of this chaotic night.

Yeonjun could've easily walked away, but no—he just had to get dragged into Hye-jin's drunk mess. Honestly, he probably thinks it's hilarious but cute at same time. Can you guys even imagine how cute Kang Hye-jin looked, pouting her lips out like that? I can't stop imaging this scene... ; ;)

Watching her stumble around, acting like a drama queen—who wouldn't find that entertaining? But of course, he steps in like the hero he thinks he is. Now he's stuck with a ruined shirt and that smug little smirk of his. Guess he didn't realize this night would come with a lot more than he signed up for.

Stay tuned .....for next chapter . I am sure you will love it..... ;)

 Thank you
