Laura's POV—
"Your words are meaningless. No matter how good your attempt is, it's useless here. Do you remember these words? You... once said these words to my face."
I sighed loudly. Shaking my head, I replied, "Look, I don't know who you are. Honestly, I don't care. A grudge only holds its value if your enemy remembers you. And trust me, I don't want to remember you. Also, I am not a killer. Maybe you have mistaken with someone else. So, it would be better for us to just forget this. My presence in this train won't hamper your 'group.' And you all can work together to do whatever you want."
"I am a policewoman, remember?" taunted Susan.
"Yeah, you are. But these people are not blind. They are watching. You are trying to take revenge on me, and I understand it very well. Human beings tend to lose themselves in the thrill of revenge," I replied in reasoning tone.
These people are on her side, and appeasing them will be next to impossible. They are ready to believe Susan's words without raising any question. Her allegation is a damn lie, and she knows it. But revenge makes a person blind. If I was a madwoman who killed countless people, then why had no one ever seen me once in a news channel? Or, any other media source? Why will I kill countless people for no reason.
Susan is lying and everyone knows it. Although these idiots know the truth, none of them will come forward to help me. On top of that, I am branded a 'madwoman.' Also, my 'stats' aren't helping me at all.
Disadvantage. I am at a complete disadvantage. Louie and Gabriel are meaningless.
"Do you honestly believe her?" I asked this question once again. Like before, no one answered me.
Susan chuckled, "It's not about believing me or not. Laura, it seems your brain has aged a bit. Its not working to its full limit. Can you tell us what your profession was before you got unemployed?"
I flinched hearing her question. Taking a step back unconsciously, I looked at the screen.
Occupation: Jobless
Physical Capability: 15/100
Mental Capability: 0/100
I am unemployed, and I will always be unemployed. My 'past' is past. It no longer exists. And it's better for me to forget it.
"Tell us! Or, will you lie again?" Susan's words broke my patience.
"Unemployed. I was a bum who spent my parents' money after their death. Okay? Are you happy now?" I yelled. My tone contained a hint of anger which I tried my best to suppress it.
Susan leaned back in her seat, and observed my reaction intently. She asked, "You are lying. But knowing you, I am not surprised. You will never reveal your real profession, right? So, let me help you."
My eyes widened in shock. Her words made me panic. She is bluffing, isn't she? There is no one left alive to know my real profession. But looking at her, I can tell she wasn't bluffing. Her eyes were looking at me with full of mockery.
A shiver ran down my spine. I subconsciously took a few steps back again. My hands were trembling, and I pleaded, "Don't… p-please…"
The words that came out of my mouth were like a mosquito. No one heard it expect Susan.
She smirked, "Pleading won't help you this time. You should know that I have no intention of sparing you. But I want to ask… how does it feel to be on the receiving end?" she looked smug, "Laura is an assassin. Countless innocent humans are her victims."
'Assassin?' I looked at her in daze as I stopped trembling. Susan continued to look at me smugly. Shaken by her words, I looked at me frail arms and legs. Did she really think that I am an 'assassin?' Of all things, she could have chosen… she chose 'assassin.'
I am an idiot. Wow, it really feels good to call out my idiocy. To be honest, it makes me feel… normal. Fuck! I was really worried for nothing. I mean, how can she hold a grudge if she doesn't know me completely? At first, I was worried… but now, all I think of her is equivalent to a jumping monkey. Her revenge is meaningless. I don't know her, and she doesn't know me completely. Yet, she wants to take revenge.
"Can you tell me what did I do to you? I am really sorry."
Susan yelled, "Again! How can you not remember me?!"
"Then, you can tell me," I suggested.
Susan shook her head and said, "It's enough. Just nominate her and end this," she turned her towards the 'drama-watching' group, "I think all of you are sane, right? So, it's better to nominate her."
Saying these accursed words, Susan chose 'YES.' The 'drama-loving' group followed her lead and nominated me.
NOMINATE- YES/NO (Click on the option you want to choose.)
RESULT- Li Wen= NOMINATED
The only ones who didn't nominate me were Louie, Gabriel, and Kristen. I should feel gratified to them, but I didn't. Their votes were meaningless.
