Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 Observing human teacher

Up in the quietest corner of the tree, hidden between thick branches and rustling leaves, a soft yawn escaped a small furry mouth.

Luna.

Her tiny gray wolf form stretched out like a lazy kitten, paws curling over her head, tail flicking sleepily. She rubbed her snout with one paw, then lazily wiped at her eyes with the other, blinking at the afternoon light slipping through the leaves.

Her ears twitched.

And that's when she realized she was in a tree.

She blinked again, now fully awake, and turned her head downward.

Far below, she saw the playground lively with movement.

Her classmates were scattered across the field, searching through bushes, crawling under benches, and tiptoeing behind trees.

Teacher Alina was standing beside Felix, talking to him quietly with that soft voice.

Luna tilted her head. "…What are they looking for?"

Then she heard it.

"LUNAAAAA! Where are you?! Come out! I'll give you half my fruit jelly!"

"LUNA! YOU BETTER NOT BE IN THE TRASH BIN AGAIN!"

"Miss Alina, can I smell her trail? I've been working on my dragon nose."

Luna's jaw dropped slightly.

They were looking for her.

She blinked. Once. Then twice.

And with a little huff, she climbed down the tree like it was the most normal thing in the world, her small paws tapping the bark with expert grace. When she reached the base, her form shimmered softly.

Poof.

She shifted back into her little girl form—messy silver-gray hair, sleepy yellow brown eyes, and a grumpy pout still stuck on her lips.

Her tiny bare feet padded quietly across the grass until she reached a bush where Drake's entire head was currently buried.

His body was sticking out, tail wagging in full investigative mode.

Luna frowned.

She poked his shoulder.

"What are you doing?" she grumbled, rubbing her eyes again.

Drake flinched and hissed, "Shhh!" without even looking back. "I'm looking for Luna! She might be stuck. Or she got eaten. Or she turned invisible again and forgot how to turn back!"

"...."

Luna stared at him blankly.

She blinked once.

Twice.

Then said flatly:

"…I'm Luna."

Drake froze.

Slowly, very slowly, he pulled his head out of the bush. Leaves were stuck in his hair. His cheeks were scratched. A ladybug was riding his ear.

He looked at her.

She raised one eyebrow.

"Oh," he said.

A pause.

Then he yelled at the top of his lungs:

"I FOUND HER! I FOUND LUNAAAAAA!!"

From across the field, Boo shouted, "SHE'S ALIVE?!?"

Vlad Jr. muttered, "Good. I was about to mourn."

Kelpie whispered to the fountain, "She's not lost anymore. Cancel the water song."

Sable's shadow stopped crawling up a tree and retreated quietly.

Felix just shook his head like the only sane one left.

Alina turned, eyes wide, then laughed softly when she saw Luna rubbing her eye with one hand, scowling like someone had dared to wake her from a royal nap.

"Sweetheart," Alina said with a hand on her chest, walking over. "You scared us."

Luna looked up, blinked once, then muttered,

"I was napping. You were all too loud."

The supernatural world, once ruled by fear and ancient grudges, had slowly shifted toward a new era—an era of peace. After centuries of war between species, something unexpected happened: they began observing humans.

Their messy societies, their ever-growing cities, their ability to survive without magic yet still create order, structure, and connection. And the most fascinating part of all?

Their education system.

It started slowly. Races who once refused to share air began discussing governance. They studied human schools, admired their discipline charts, their lunch breaks, even their parent-teacher meetings.

Eventually, they built their own version.

The world was divided into territories, just like human countries—one for vampires, one for dragons, another for elementals, beasts, fae, and more. They agreed to raise their children in their own lands, but there would be one neutral zone.

A place where younglings of all races could learn together.

That dream became reality in the form of a single school.

Little Fang Kindergarten.

The idea came from a powerful, quiet man who rarely spoke unless necessary...Dante Nightshade. Demon blood in his veins, an aura sharp enough to silence rooms, and a gaze that most feared to meet. And yet, he built a school not with war magic, but with hope.

He believed the young could grow without hatred. But for that to happen...they needed to learn in peace. Together.

And if they were to study side by side?

They would need someone to teach them about the one thing all races now admired: human structure.

That's how the search began.

Not just for a teacher but for a human teacher.

Someone who didn't come from their world. Someone unbiased. Someone brave enough to handle a classroom full of fanged, clawed, fiery, and ghostly toddlers.

And now she was here.

Alina Hart.

A tired, gentle-hearted young woman who had no idea she had been chosen for something that could shape an entire generation of supernatural beings.

Inside the private head office of Little Fang Kindergarten, the lights were dim. The walls were lined with thick books, ancient scrolls, and maps of the divided territories. At the very center, a dark obsidian desk stood tall and behind it, in a high-backed chair, sat Dante.

His eyes, as red as slow-burning embers, were locked onto the glowing screen in front of him.

Live playground footage.

He leaned back in his chair, folding one hand under his chin

His dark eyes stared quietly, watching the footage of the playground. Kids were running around, rolling, flying, playing… and in the middle of that chaos stood Alina...smiling.

His gaze stayed on her longer than he intended.

She was laughing again… even when Boo poured paint on her shoes, even when Luna threw a stick like it was war, even when Kelpie drenched her skirt.

She didn't run. She didn't scream. She just smiled.

He didn't trust that smile. Even though the other races had accepted this human into their school during meeting discussion, Dante hadn't. Not fully.

After all, humans are clever… but they're also dangerous. More dangerous than any beast.

He had seen it.

Humans destroy.

Not with claws or fire or magic.

But with control.

With sweet words. With plans. With ambition.

Their history was filled with blood wars they started, worlds they ruined, and lies they told without blinking.

And now there's one… inside his school.

She seemed calm.

Too calm.

But he knew calm could be a mask.

His fingers tapped the desk slowly as he leaned forward again.

He wasn't judging her for being human.

He was watching to see how long her kindness lasts.

Anyone can smile during the easy part.

But what about when things fall apart?

What about when one of the babies loses control?

What about when monsters become monsters?

He narrowed his eyes.

She was soft now.

But he wanted to know what she would do…

When the soft part ends.
