Chapter 12 - Royalties and Divas

"YOU CHEAT!" I screamed.Cheating is one thing, but against a six-year-old? Really? The almighty, great Flame Dragon is nothing but a sore loser.

"You didn't see right, kid. I'm a few centuries old, I know better!" he argued.

We were so bored, we ended up playing "Guess the Next Guard." Five guys rotated shifts to keep an eye on us, and it had been that way for the past week.I'd started feeling better after that day. I could move and sit up without any issues now.

The thing is... we're trapped in the middle of nowhere, with no aura and no way to call for help. At this rate, I might just be stuck here for another five years. At least I have someone to talk to. I am surprisingly optimistic!

"We will move tonight. Aurelian has been summoned back," I heard a guard with a black mask tell our babysitter.Aurelian? I don't remember an Aurelian from my past life.

"Who will we have to control the dragon?" the babysitter asked, concern lacing his voice. The guard glanced at the two of us, realizing we were listening keenly, and they both shuffled away to talk in hushed voices.

"I think they're gonna try to sell me off," Arxia snorted with amusement.

"Sell you off? What are we going to do?" I started to panic. Why the hell is he so cool? Can't he see the seriousness of the situation?? Did he think someone would jump from the sky to bail our asses out?!

"We can't do anything now. Even if we get all tense and anxious, some things are just out of our control. So chill. Let's place our bets on luck," Arxia yawned. He IS mature. I'm... surprised.

"You ARE old, huh?" I smiled, weirdly comforted by his words.

"So are you," he said with a smirk.Wait... WAIT WHAT!?

He knows something!"What do you mean? I am SIX!" I tried laughing it off.He gave me a hard look, not saying anything. He looked like he was contemplating all the bad decisions he'd made across his long-ass life.

"Let me be direct," he said finally. "That kid shot me with something during our fight. I went crazy, and I had visions. I saw an older version of you and a guy named 'Lucas.' I don't know what happened, or who you really are, but something crazy is going on. Clear that up for me, will you?" Arxia asked, his face dead serious.

Before I could even breathe properly --

"Well, well, what a cozy reunion!"A tall guy with light brown hair and stormy grey eyes appeared, hands in his pockets like he owned the place.

I DO know him!

Aurelian!

They were all referring to Aurelian De La Bellegaurde, the third and only illegitimate son of the Bellegaurde Ultra-Elite family.

Basically royalty!

Royalty that everyone pretends doesn't exist.

What is this guy doing here?!

Okay, he saved me... Damn, I'm conflicted. Should I be happy or sad right now??

"Aurelian!" A guard showed up and whispered something to him. He listened, then smirked."Looks like we're gonna have a party," he said casually, like the news genuinely excited him. It gave me shivers.

"Let's get moving, lizard. Gotta put you up for clearance soon," he continued, looking way too smug about it.

I looked helplessly between him and Arxia.Arxia sighed, stretched his back like a bored office worker, and started moving toward the exit.

"Are you really going to leave? Just like that?!" I was genuinely shocked that Arxia didn't even put up a fight. No snark. No jokes. No resistance.

"Or what?" Aurelian laughed mockingly. "He's gonna fight single-handedly with a dead weight like you and win? Is your head just for decoration?"

"Act your age," Arxia said sharply, without looking back at me.I heard it clearly, the words between the words, written in bold, invisible letters.Don't do anything stupid.

Think! Use your head and think, Lucas!

I might not be Viktor Voltaries to pummel this guy and save the day, but if Viktor can rise from the circumstances I saw, I, Lucas, can use my intellect!

Just because I cannot be like that guy, it does NOT mean I am useless.

"Aurelian, I wouldn't do that if I were you!" I said, trying to buy time to think.

Aura, I have to make ICE! Just have to figure out the fricking combination ratio. QUICK!

"What do you mean, kid? You talk like you know shit!" Aurelian stopped in his tracks, amused.

"Arxia said he had visions, a curse should make you forget what you already know, not show more memories!" I said confidently.Yes! I said something that makes sense! Let me build on that!

Okay, logically, I can whip up ice with 50% air and water output. With my current stats, I have 25% water and 25% air affinity, which I cannot change.

"How will YOU know that?" Aurelian looked visibly shocked, and Arxia looked at me, eyes popping out, like I had grown an extra head.

GREAT! I have to multitask!

"Innit common sense?" I said, tilting my head with an innocent smile.

Maybe... Maybe I can try reducing the aura output to match my input. If I reduce the output force and aura usage by 50%, maybe I can pull it off.

"Aren't you SIX? Why the hell are you talking like a nerdy scientist?" Aurelian fired, crossing his arms.

UGH! Why can't he just shut up and wait till I finish my math? SHIT! Why is math SO hard?

"I am Viktor Eryndale Voltaries!" I said, running a hand through my hair and throwing him the most Viktor-like smirk I could muster.

UGH! I wanna throw up!

Yep! I mentally cringed. Fake it till you make it, I guess.

"Isn't he too much of a diva for a six-year-old?" Aurelian asked Arxia, throwing his hands up in exasperation.

Arxia was still stuck on the previous scene.

"Hey Aurelian! You know what else this six-year-old can do?" I said, still maintaining the smirk I knew Viktor had a patent for.

This is the moment. This is DO or DIE!!!!
