Chapter 20 - Time to fight

Two soldiers had quickly taken care of the ghouls. A man in his late thirties. He was bald and his black beard was gradually turning white. His black eyes seemed like an abyss itself. He went by the name Rick. The second soldier was female and had long brown golden hairs. She had a slender figure and was as tall as Rick who was about 1.90m. She had a slender figure and her eyes shone in a light brown. 'Emilia, Rick!', Sarah called out. 'I knew you two would still be alive. But we don't have time right now! I'll explain everything on the way!'

Dean and the others were out of the city. There were only some cars on the motorway. The reason for that was that everyone had taken the other three motorways leading out the city for they were much safer. This motorways was considered old and people had been working on it. In other words it was not complete yet. Well, still better than staying in the city. Hope was still asleep with a big grin on her face. 'So', Sark started, 'Jessie. Could you please enlighten us who that person was? And why the heck she shot fire out her palms?' Jessie had leant her head back, her eyes closed. She sighed. 'That woman suddenly appeared in the police station speaking about immune one or something like that. I think she referred to these monsters or well you can also call them ghouls!' 'Ghouls?', Dean repeated peeking over his shoulder to Jessie. 'Yes, after I after I had left the police station I encountered some people. Everyone crazier than the other. But there were also some who knew what was going on, people who like conspiracies.' 'Larah decided to join the conversation: 'and where are they if I may ask?' 'Dead!', Jessie replied with a cold voice and her facial expression remained the same as if she had become numb to emotions. 'Something big is happening and that's why I want to go to the Behills Hospital. You might not know it but a secret military base is stationed there!' Everyone rejoiced but Sark's comments made the joy vanish as fast as it had appeared: 'Well, only the military wasn't overrun by these ghouls. And that woman! Is she also a ghoul or how come she has power like that?' 'I heard some things and if I put everything well together, she must be a dark priest. Someone who worships demons, that bitch By the way that child, are you their parents!' Larah was the first one to reply: 'No we aren't!' 'Then what happened to the parents?' Larah couldn't force herself to tell the story so Dean took over: 'The mother got bitten. So to save the child we, well, I think you can guess!' 'I see. Damn! But wait', Jessie eyed the child. 'When the mother got bitten, was the child still in her belly?' It became silent. Jessie reached to her gun and Sark was doing the same. The tension was high and everyone could guess what was about to happen, if Larah didn't decide to intervene: 'She's fine! Really! No bleeding eyes, no dark skin. Look at her!' Jessie wasn't fully convinced but she decided to let go of the gun. 'Maybe', she began, 'she could be an immune one. I mean the infection must have kind of influenced her. Well if she is one we'll. Find out at the hospital!' For a beat, Jessie felt an intimidating aura and the source was Larah who had tightened her grip around Hope. 'I won't let anyone; I say anyone do experiment on her. You will have to pass through me first! And believe me when I say that will end ugly!' 'I won't do anything', Jessie let her know. 'I just say, if you get to the hospital we are bound to be checked. And if during the process somethings gets out you will have to deal with them!' 'No, they'll have to deal with us!', Dean uttered with a strong voice. His confidence made Sark grin and calmed down Larah who replied with a: 'Thank you!' (Jessie: If that child is really immune that Nighyel will at some point come for her. Then I will kill her!)

Dae and the others had reached the forest. The trees towered into the heaven and their branches were thicker than a man's leg. Due to the many leaves only some light made it into the forest leaving most places in dusk. Dae turned around and there he spotted the five Legends, standing. Adam, the Warlord was standing at the front. It was as if he was staring right at Dae, however, he was too far to perceive Dean between all these soldiers or wasn't he. Either way he rose his arm to the heaven and swung it down. Just. Then the ghouls started shrieking and yelling, as if telling everyone: 'The hunt begins!' At the same time they all darted forward, wih an incredible speed. At this sight the soldiers fell back into despair. Rayshel was simply happy and she replied with a battle cry on her part. Dae took control of the situation: 'Man up! You decided to come this far! So I take it that you are prepared! MY words were harsh; I admit it but we will treat these motherfuckers even harsher, won't we?' And the soldiers bellowed. Dae ran into the forest. 'Time to prepare for them! We killed them once and we will do it a second time!'
