The next morning, I expected life to go back to normal.
Silly me.
Instead, the system woke me up by blasting alarms into my skull.
System: [Emergency Event Triggered!] Warning: Host is being TARGETED!] Immediate Action Required!]
"What the hell?!" I yelped, tumbling out of bed.
My phone screen flashed blood red.
[Unknown Force Detected. Threat Level: HIGH.]
At that exact moment, my window shattered—
And a sleek, black figure dove into my room, tackling me to the ground.
I struggled wildly, ready to scream bloody murder.
Until the intruder pinned me down and hissed in my ear:
"Stay. Quiet."
It was a girl. Slim. Agile. Wearing a black combat suit that hugged way too many curves.
Before I could react further, she slapped a paper onto my forehead.
The paper glowed with strange symbols, and suddenly... time froze.
Everything outside the room stopped moving. Even the shattered glass hung mid-air.
The girl pulled off her mask, revealing sharp emerald eyes and long dark hair tied into a messy ponytail.
"You're in danger," she said bluntly. "A real one this time."
After she (very reluctantly) let me sit up, I stared at her.
"Who the heck are you?"
She crossed her arms, glaring. "Agent No. 7. Supreme System Enforcement Division."
"...There's a division?!"
She rolled her eyes. "Obviously. Did you think you were the only idiot who stumbled into a forbidden system?"
Fair point.
Apparently, the Supreme System wasn't some cute, harmless cheat tool. It was a cosmic-level relic so powerful that it attracted monsters, bounty hunters, and interdimensional criminals like moths to a flame.
And now... one of them had locked onto me.
Agent 7 tossed a sleek black file onto my bed. It slid open to reveal a photo of a girl—long silver hair, wicked smirk, crimson eyes glowing like embers.
Name: Aria Crimson.
Status: System Reaper.
Bounty:Classified.
"She's coming for you," Agent 7 said grimly. "Tonight."
Just as she finished speaking—
System: [New Emergency Mission!] Objective: Survive 24 Hours Against Crimson Reaper Aria. Reward: Evolution Key.] Penalty: Permanent System Shutdown.]
I swallowed hard.
"Define... permanent," I whispered.
"Dead," Agent 7 said casually. "Very dead."
Awesome. Totally chill.
I slumped onto my bed.
"So what do I do?"
She smirked faintly. "Simple. You fight dirty."
Training started immediately.
Apparently, Agent 7's idea of training involved things like:
Dodgeball with stun grenades.
Parkour across rooftop gardens while Null hurled frying pans at me.
Practicing evasive maneuvers... by dodging Cynthia, Luna, and Celia trying to "accidentally" glomp me during yoga class.
System: [Mini-Event: Stay Alive and Stay Horny Challenge! Bonus Multiplier Active.]
I don't know who designed this system, but they were a menace.
11:59 PM — Rooftop
The clock ticked down.
Agent 7 and I stood back-to-back under the full moon, tension thick in the air.
And then—
A ripple split the sky.
Aria Crimson floated down like a queen descending from her throne, silver hair streaming, blood-red eyes glowing.
She smiled at me.
It wasn't friendly.
"Supreme System Holder Ethan Cross," she purred. "Your luck ends here."
System: [WARNING: BOSS LEVEL ENCOUNTER!]
My whole body screamed at me to run.
But then I caught a flash of movement behind Aria.
Cynthia. Luna. Celia. Even Null. They were sneaking into position, their faces deadly serious.
I clenched my fists.
Maybe... just maybe...
I wasn't alone.
