Chapter 112 - Chapter 112: Disruption

I was starting to have doubts because the coffin lid was over four inches thick, and I had only been practicing nailing nails for a few days, so I wasn't sure if I could pierce through it. Even if I could, what if I missed and put a hole in the old woman's head? When Su Dazhuang saw that, he would probably hate my second uncle to death.

But if I didn't act, the body would escape the coffin within a minute or two, no matter how strong the suppression was. As for Zhan Ling, she couldn't fit in the coffin—she was too big and would get stuck. I had no choice but to act quickly.

I gritted my teeth and shouted, "Mr. Jiang, be careful with your hands!" The moment I spoke, I held my breath and thrust the blood dagger forward.

There was a sharp "thunk" sound as the blood dagger pierced the coffin lid. Mr. Jiang had just pulled his hand back in time. The dagger, over twenty centimeters long, went completely through the coffin. I quickly checked and saw that it was perfectly positioned, right at the old woman's throat, tightly pinning her in place. The blood dagger contained yang energy, which suppressed her from moving.

Mr. Jiang freed one hand and quickly called for Zhan Ling and me to help hold the old woman's arms. I didn't hesitate and grabbed her hand. The moment I touched her, my heart skipped a beat, and I whispered, "She's still alive!" Zhan Ling had the same expression, as she felt the old woman's pulse too.

Mr. Jiang didn't answer but bit his right middle finger, quickly drawing a symbol in his left palm. I was on the left side and saw the symbol clearly, and my heart sank. Even Huang Jiu, who had been tugging on my hair, stiffened.

After drawing the blood symbol, Mr. Jiang leaned down and slapped the old woman's forehead. Then, with a forceful motion, a red aura of malevolent energy was drawn out of her body, quieting the struggling corpse immediately. Mr. Jiang let out a sigh of relief and angrily looked for Lai Youwei. However, the guy knew he had caused a big mess and had already disappeared without a trace while we were focused on suppressing the corpse.

"That damn fool!" Mr. Jiang cursed under his breath as he jumped out of the coffin.

I also quickly released the old woman's hand, my face darkening as I said, "Her heart is still beating. This is probably why the Three Yin Sect found this place." Su Dazhuang's mother had died in a car accident and later mysteriously came back to life. The technique used was most likely that of the undead, from the Undying Clan. However, the person behind it had much more advanced methods than the Three Yin Sect, as they had only been able to cultivate living organs and not revive the dead up to this point.

The pill left by that person was likely what caused Su Dazhuang's mother's organs to die, but the heart kept beating for some unknown reason. It seemed that the technique of resurrection was hidden inside this heart.

Mr. Jiang, seeing Lai Youwei was gone, pulled out a pair of surgical gloves and started putting them on, saying, "Once we remove the heart, the corpse will be just a regular body, and the Three Yin Sect won't bother with it anymore."

As he was looking for a knife on his waist, I secretly pulled out the blood dagger. At the moment his head was down, I precisely thrust it into the old woman's chest.

Mr. Jiang immediately looked up, his face changing, and shouted, "What are you doing?"

The corpse had been buried in the earth for decades, and it was already dead. But when I pulled the blood dagger out, there was still some blood leaking from the wound, making me feel uncomfortable.

But when Mr. Jiang scolded me, I calmly flicked the blood off the dagger and said flatly, "No need for all that trouble. My blood dagger can deal with undead organs."

Seeing Mr. Jiang's furious expression, I feigned surprise and asked, "Mr. Jiang, you've been chasing after the Three Yin Sect for so long. Don't tell me you're trying to learn their art of creating undead organs?"

Mr. Jiang's face immediately went cold, and he scolded, "What nonsense are you talking? Our mission as Demon Hunters is to eradicate evil spirits and demons, not to learn such dark and sinister techniques."

Zhan Ling also stepped in to warn me to stop speaking carelessly. I knew she was worried I might offend Mr. Jiang, but she hadn't seen the symbol he had drawn earlier, which was the Three Yin Sect's totem.

Although I wasn't ready to make any conclusions, I could tell that the Demon Hunters' pursuit of the Three Yin Sect wasn't as simple as it seemed. Only the higher-ups knew the real reason behind their pursuit. Zhan Ling, being a lower-tier member, still believed they were genuinely eliminating demons and protecting the righteous.

I lowered my head and looked at the coffin. After the heart stopped beating, the corpse began to shrivel, the flesh disintegrating. Within less than a minute, the coffin only contained a pile of white bones. I let out a sigh of relief.

For things like this, total destruction was the best result.

I noticed Mr. Jiang's face was still dark, and I was worried he might kill me out of anger. Huang Jiu also noticed the blood symbol, and now, perched on my shoulder, was unusually quiet.

I thought for a moment and called my second uncle to let him know that the Su family grave matter was over, and that I was staying with Zhan Ling and Mr. Jiang. After hanging up, my anxious heart finally settled. I asked Zhan Ling to help me cover the coffin again.

Mr. Jiang didn't speak, but he still pushed the coffin back into the pit. With the grave disturbed like this, Su Dazhuang would definitely have it repaired, so I just refilled the pit with some earth to cover the coffin.

When we got back to the city and got out of Zhan Ling's car, Huang Jiu and I finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Huang Jiu said, "What Demon Hunters? They're just in cahoots with the Three Yin Sect."

I quickly covered its mouth and said, "We know this already. Just keep it to yourself and don't spread it around."

The Demon Hunters weren't kind-hearted folks, and speaking out about this could get us silenced. Besides, their actions didn't really concern me, and I would rather stay out of it as much as possible. If someone was going to investigate, they would need to be powerful enough to handle it.

Huang Jiu understood the gravity of the situation and changed the subject, "By the way, about my big grandson, you have to find him. That little brat almost got us killed."

I responded, "I'm not worrying about that now. That Mr. Hu, I think his Dao energy is way stronger than Mr. Jiang's!"

Huang Jiu's eyes gleamed, "Well, we should recruit him as our little brother and make him our bodyguard!"

I rolled my eyes at Huang Jiu, "Someone like Hu Wenhui? We can't keep him. Once he's passed this crisis, he'll leave."

Huang Jiu immediately protested, "No, I need him to catch my big grandson before he leaves!"

I sighed, "Stop causing trouble. Tomorrow, I'm going to the museum."

The bronze mirror had been quiet for a while, and I was getting restless. Maybe there would be a breakthrough if I visited. Since my second uncle had gone to deal with the Ghost Tower, Huang Jiu wasn't transforming, and I was feeling a little alone.
