Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: The Seven Stars Earthly Conjunction

When it comes to business matters, Zhan Ling didn't go into much detail. She mentioned a few people related to the Three Yin Sect, all of whom I hadn't met but whose names sounded quite familiar.

I hesitated and asked, "If these people are really from the Three Yin Sect, can you demon hunters handle them?"

In the supernatural world, power might not always be so obvious, but as long as we rely on food, clothing, and shelter, we're bound by the influence of power.

Zhan Ling smiled and said, "Don't just talk about the provincial capital; even in the capital, as long as they're related to the Three Yin Sect, we can handle it."

It sounded like the demon hunters had some major backing.

I asked, "Have you encountered a Fang Shi (a type of sorcerer)?"

Zhan Ling replied, "The sorcerers from the Three Yin Sect are considered high-ranking, and they're only sent for important matters. There's usually only one per area. The person in charge of this incident was injured by you, so they won't send anyone else for now."

Injured? I thought I had killed him.

But for next time... I touched the bag around my waist. Inside was the ritual knife.

The car soon arrived at the graveyard, but Zhan Ling's other four teammates weren't there. Only a middle-aged man with a square face stood in front of the tomb. If not for the hunting crossbow hanging at his waist, I might have thought someone else had set their sights on Su Dazhuang's parents' grave.

Zhan Ling walked up to him and respectfully said, "Mr. Jiang, Li Yang is here."

This man must be someone on the demon hunter's list. His presence was overwhelming.

I couldn't gauge his strength, but the aura he exuded was intense.

Mr. Jiang examined me from head to toe, and in a magnetic voice, asked, "Can you represent Su Dazhuang to supervise the whole process?"

I nodded. With Su Dazhuang not here, it seemed like the responsibility had been delegated to me.

Mr. Jiang gave me a few more looks, then suddenly asked, "How is your grandfather?"

I froze. How do these powerful people know about my grandfather?

I quickly regained my composure and replied flatly, "My grandfather passed away last year."

Mr. Jiang seemed surprised, then raised his hand and pressed it gently on my forehead.

My face immediately turned cold, and my hand instinctively went to the blood dagger at my waist. But after just a light touch, Mr. Jiang withdrew his hand.

The forehead is a vital pressure point, especially for someone with inner Qi like me. It's like a secret vault of energy.

Mr. Jiang's probe had already gathered a lot of information, which was both impolite and provocative.

"Ah, so that's the case," Mr. Jiang muttered to himself.

I immediately asked, "Mr. Jiang, what does this mean?"

Zhan Ling quickly pulled me aside and whispered, "Mr. Jiang just wanted to check on your grandfather's situation."

She was trying to get me to let it go.

I sneered, "I already said..."

My words stopped abruptly as Mr. Jiang extended his hand again, this time revealing a faintly blue Earth Bead.

The second Earth Bead!

I swallowed and cautiously asked, "For me?"

Mr. Jiang nodded and said, "As an apology."

I quickly took the Earth Bead and stuffed it into my pocket, practically wanting to hold his hand and press it to my forehead again.

However, Earth Beads are rare, and seeing two of them in such a short time was already incredibly rare.

Mr. Jiang said, "Take it back for your wife. It will greatly help her. If there's nothing else, we can start opening the grave."

With that, Mr. Jiang picked up a hoe.

I quickly ran over, grabbed the hoe, and said, "Mr. Jiang, please stop. This is rough work; I'll handle it."

Zhan Ling scoffed, clearly unimpressed.

I didn't care about her attitude. The value of the Earth Bead was something I could never pass up.

Under the reward, I suddenly felt as if I had an abundance of energy.

However, after digging only three inches of soil, I felt something was wrong. A strange force was gathering above my head in the graveyard.

This force wasn't visible to the naked eye, but I could clearly feel the immense pressure it exerted.

I hurriedly stopped, jumped off the grave, and asked, "The Su family's fortune is still protecting this grave. How do we open it?"

Zhan Ling sneered, "Mr. Jiang is doing this personally. You volunteered yourself. I thought you had the ability!"

I blushed. I had been too eager to flatter him earlier and hadn't considered this.

But since the Three Yin Sect people were using a return dragon technique to counteract the Su family's fortune, could Mr. Jiang break it directly?

I awkwardly handed the hoe back to Mr. Jiang and asked, "If we force it open, won't it harm my grandfather's fortune?"

Mr. Jiang laughed at my frantic movements, making me even more uncomfortable.

After working for so long, I had turned into a clown.

"I brought something. It won't damage the Su family's fortune," Mr. Jiang said, pulling out a compass.

At first, I thought it was just an ordinary compass. However, after a few rotations, the compass emitted golden light, and countless characters appeared and danced on it.

The Destiny Compass!

My heart raced.

Grandfather had mentioned that there were three extraordinary compasses in the world. The first was the Celestial Mechanism Compass, which could predict fate and glimpse heavenly secrets. The second was the Destiny Compass, capable of altering fate.

I never expected the Destiny Compass to be in the hands of the demon hunters.

With the help of the Destiny Compass, Mr. Jiang easily diverted the Su family's fortune to the side, letting it gather without dispersing.

Once the grave was opened, he could use the Destiny Compass to restore the Su family's fortune.

Moreover, with the Destiny Compass's guidance, the Su family's fortune would likely soar to new heights.

I coveted the Destiny Compass but knew I couldn't afford to play with such a powerful tool.

I could only watch from a distance.

Mr. Jiang worked quickly and soon pulled out the coffin. Despite more than thirty years passing, the coffin was still as new as it had been.

Mr. Jiang was incredibly strong. He single-handedly lifted the coffin out of the grave and was about to open it.

However, as his hand touched the hidden clasp on the coffin, the ground beneath us suddenly trembled, and a powerful force pushed Mr. Jiang back.

At that moment, I saw seven stars flickering underground.

One of those stars was the coffin.

My heart sank. This was the Earthly Seven Stars Conjunction!

And the coffin had been incorporated into it. If we didn't break the formation, opening the coffin would instantly turn the energy into malevolent force.

The body in the coffin wasn't normal to begin with. Who knows what it would become?

But this was something from Left Dao Ran's notebook, and I didn't dare show off, lest the people from Longhu Mountain took notice.

Fortunately, Mr. Jiang noticed as well. He stepped aside and made a phone call. Not long after, a young man in his thirties arrived.

The young man was arrogant and immediately declared that this was the Seven Stars Conjunction. As long as the stars were reversed, the coffin would open.

He was about to reverse the stars.

My heart sank. I had thought Mr. Jiang would bring a master, but instead, it was this reckless youth who couldn't even distinguish between the Celestial Seven Stars Conjunction and the Earthly Seven Stars Conjunction.

If the body in the coffin were a normal person, I wouldn't care. After all, Mr. Jiang had the ability to handle any corpse transformations.

But since Su Dazhuang's mother's corpse was already strange and abnormal, I had to intervene for my own safety.

I urgently stopped him, saying, "This isn't the Celestial Seven Stars, it's the Earthly Seven Stars!"

The young man sneered and arrogantly retorted, "I am from the Ma Yi sect, do you really think I would make a mistake?"
