Chapter 39 - [Episode 39] — The Mirror Game

Same face. Same eyes. But darker.

Same smile. But colder.

Ji-hoon stood frozen. The figure before him—him, but not him—tilted its head.

No words spoken. But the voice rang out inside his skull:

"I am you."

And then—gone. A ring. A buzz. A message. Reality snapped back.

But had it ever been real?

The call from Eun-young barely grounded him.

"You were acting strange yesterday," she said.

Was that him? Or me?

Ji-hoon replayed it—his team, his work, the documents with his name. Sentences he didn't remember writing. Decisions he didn't remember making.

No gaps. Just ghosts.

The napkin still held the message: "I am inside you."

Another message. Finger-traced on glass:

"Come back."

Back to what?

And finally, the text: "You must find me."

He turned—There he was again. Not fleeing. Not vanishing. Just... watching.

Smiling.
