Chapter 53: Giant Pokémon Island
Sitting on Gyarados's back, Melanie glanced back at Brock left behind on the wooden plank, then asked worriedly, "Brock, can you think of a way to leave here?"
Misty, sitting nearby, heard Melanie and said, "Sister Melanie, don't worry about Brock! Brock said he'll figure out a way to leave. Let's just leave first on Gyarados!"
Hearing Misty, Brock nodded in agreement and said, "Misty's right. You guys go ahead first!" After speaking, Brock commanded the Gyarados, "Gyarados! Take them away from here! Head to the nearest land!"
Hearing Brock's command, Gyarados let out a roar, then started swimming forward. Misty, sitting on Gyarados, heard the roar, let out a scream, "Ahh!", and immediately hugged Daisy in front of her. Melanie, also sitting on Gyarados, turned her head back to look at Brock still on the wooden plank.
After a while, Brock saw Gyarados carrying Ash and the others swim far away. Then, Brock entered his mindscape. He saw Bell standing there. Brock walked over and asked, "Bell, I'm stranded out here on the sea now. Do you have any way to get me back to land?"
Hearing Brock, Bell replied, "Host Brock, isn't that simple? Just use one thousand points to summon Dragonite. Then sit on its back, and it will take you back to land."
Hearing Bell, Brock's eyes lit up, and he said, "That's a great idea!"
Brock checked his points balance and saw the number displayed there: 6000 Points.
Seeing he had six thousand points, Brock thought for a moment, then decided to proceed according to Bell's suggestion.
Exiting his mindscape, Brock took the Master Ball out of his pocket and released the Pokémon inside. Just like that, a normal-sized Dragonite appeared before Brock.
Brock looked at the Dragonite and commanded, "Dragonite! Fly down! Let me sit on your back. Then take me away from here!"
Hearing Brock's command, Dragonite landed on the wooden plank.
Seeing this, Brock sat on Dragonite's back, tightly holding onto Dragonite's neck. Dragonite saw Brock was ready, then flew forward.
After an unknown amount of time flying, Brock, riding on Dragonite's back, spotted a Gyarados on the sea surface below. So, Brock commanded Dragonite, "Dragonite! Let's fly down and take a look!"
As Dragonite flew down, Brock saw Ash and the others on Gyarados's back. He then shouted loudly, "Ash! Misty! Daisy! Melanie! I'll wait for you on the land up ahead!" Just as Brock finished speaking, Dragonite flew alongside Gyarados.
Hearing Brock, Ash and the others turned their heads to look and saw Brock sitting right beside them on Dragonite! Seeing this, Ash exclaimed, "Brock! When did you get a Dragonite?!"
Seeing this scene, Misty said angrily, "Brock! If you had a Dragonite, why didn't you bring it out sooner?! You made me ride this scary Gyarados!"
Hearing Misty, Brock knew she was angry. He shouted back loudly, "Misty! What did you say just now?! The wind's too loud; I can't hear you!" After saying this, Dragonite quickly flew forward, fiercely leaving Gyarados behind. Seeing this, Brock praised Dragonite, "Dragonite! Well done!"
After flying for an unknown amount of time, Brock, riding on Dragonite's back, saw a small island ahead. He commanded Dragonite, "Dragonite! Let's rest for a bit on that island!"
Hearing Brock's command, Dragonite flew towards the island. A few minutes later, Dragonite landed on the island with Brock.
After getting off Dragonite's back, Brock said, "Dragonite, thank you for your hard work." He then recalled Dragonite. Subsequently, Brock looked out towards the sea surface but didn't see any sign of Ash and the others. After looking, he thought, Dragonite flew me for so long, and I haven't eaten anything yet... Since Ash and the others aren't here yet, I should go find something to eat first! Having decided, Brock went further into the island to search for food. (Because they had to escape, Brock and the others didn't bring their backpacks out).
Meanwhile, with Ash and the others. They were still riding on Gyarados's back. Just then, Ash looked ahead but saw no land in sight. He complained, "How much longer until we reach land?! I'm starving to death!"
Hearing Ash, Misty said, "Ash, we don't have any food right now. Just endure it! Maybe there's a small island not far ahead."
Not long after Misty spoke, they heard Daisy's voice, "Ash! Misty! Melanie! Look! There's a small island up ahead!" Hearing Daisy, Ash and the others looked forward together and saw an island right before them.
So, Ash commanded Gyarados, "Gyarados! Head towards that island quickly!" Hearing Ash, Gyarados swam towards the island. After a little while, Gyarados reached the edge of the island. Subsequently, Ash and the others dismounted from Gyarados's back. As they arrived on the beach, a voice called out to them, "Ash! Misty! Melanie! Daisy! Jessie! And James! You finally arrived! I've been waiting for you for quite some time!"
Hearing the voice, Ash and the others turned their heads and saw Brock walking towards them, carrying some fruit. As Brock reached their side, Ash saw the fruit in Brock's hands, immediately took some from Brock, and quickly stuffed it into his mouth.
Seeing this, Brock said, "Ash, don't rush! There's more! Misty, Melanie, Daisy, Jessie, and James, you must be hungry too. Come eat some fruit together!" He then placed the fruit down on the beach. Subsequently, Misty and the others sat down together and started eating the fruit.
After Brock's group finished eating the fruit, James, who was nearby, said, "Mr. Brock... thank you for saving Jessie and me. We need to leave first now." After speaking, James and Jessie left.
Daisy, nearby, watched James and Jessie leave, then looked out at the Gyarados in the sea, and then looked back at Brock, saying, "Brock... about this matter... you should explain yourself!"
Hearing Daisy, Brock said resignedly, "Okay... that Dragonite is my Pokémon. I only remembered I had it and brought it out right after you guys had left."
Hearing Brock's explanation and looking at his expression, Daisy saw Brock didn't seem to be lying and didn't suspect anything further. She then said, "Brock, we'll let that matter go then. But you used Gyarados to scare my sister... How are we going to settle that?"
Hearing Daisy's words, Brock looked at Daisy, then looked at the Gyarados. He knew he wouldn't be able to keep his Gyarados now. He then said in a righteous and self-sacrificing manner, "Daisy... It was my fault for scaring Misty with Gyarados. Can I offer Gyarados as an apology gift?"
