Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: Is Even Uncle Hiashi Afraid of Thunder?

RUMBLE!!!

The sudden sound of thunder and Hiashi Hyuga's words startled Aoba.

Luckily, he wasn't holding chopsticks at that moment. Otherwise, if he didn't drop them, it'd be a waste of such a great atmosphere.

He looked suspiciously at Hiashi Hyuga.

The purpose of the other party's question was probably aimed at his teacher, Tsunade-sama.

Otherwise, who in their right mind would discuss the position of Hokage with a brat barely over ten?

As for the reason…

He felt it probably had something to do with what happened yesterday afternoon in the Forest of Death.

Otherwise, what a coincidence.

Maybe someone from the Hyuga clan, when using the Byakugan, unintentionally saw something.

Aoba was suddenly in the mood for some mischief.

He picked up the teacup in front of him, took a big sip to moisten his throat, and then said in a deep tone, "To become Hokage, one must be ambitious, wise, possess the secrets of the universe in his heart, and have the will to swallow the heavens and earth."

Hiashi Hyuga's eyes lit up slightly upon hearing this. He didn't expect this little brat Aoba to be able to say something like that. All he could say was, 'He truly is Tsunade-sama's disciple.'

"Then, who do you think is suitable to be Hokage?", Hiashi Hyuga picked up the teapot again and poured tea into Aoba's now empty cup.

Aoba noticed this, a glint flashed in his eyes, and his expression became serious and sincere.

"I think Uncle Hiashi is very suitable for the position of Hokage!"

Hiashi Hyuga was startled upon hearing this, and the teapot in his hand fell straight down.

It hit the table, and the aroma of tea spread out.

Coincidentally, a torrential rain was pouring outside, and another thunderclap boomed.

"Aoba, don't drag the Hyuga clan down with you!"

"Uncle Hiashi, are you still afraid of thunder?", Aoba was struggling to hold back his laughter. He had to pinch his thigh hard just to stop himself from bursting out.

'Sweating bullets now, aren't you, old man?'

'Serves you right for using your Byakugan to scare people all the time.'

"Aoba, that's not something you should joke about," Hiashi Hyuga's expression turned a bit dark.

The Hyuga clan's loyalty to the Hokage was as clear as the sun and moon. The Hokage was the Hyuga clan's only sun.

They had never once harbored any thoughts about vying for the position of Hokage.

Because he knew very well that the process of choosing a Hokage was very complex, and the Hyuga clan couldn't possibly navigate those treacherous waters.

Fortunately, the Hyuga clan's compound was protected by a barrier that blocked sensory abilities. If words like these got out, how could the Hyuga clan maintain their footing in Konoha?

The Hyuga clan wasn't looking to get themselves executed or punished.

"I saw how serious you were, Uncle Hiashi. I thought you were actually—"

"Stop joking around."

Really can't say a word without scaring people.

Hiashi Hyuga was afraid Aoba would say something even more outrageous, so he immediately interrupted and laid his cards on the table.

"I just wanted to ask if your teacher has any thoughts about becoming Hokage."

"So that's what it was," Aoba made a face of sudden realization, though inside, he was already dying trying to hold it all in.

"My teacher currently has no intention of becoming Hokage."

"Besides, the Third Hokage is still in good health. Not only is he powerful, but he also has the support of three advisors. One could say it's like adding wings to a tiger. It's no problem for him to continue being the Hokage for another decade."

Aoba believed Tsunade probably already had the thought of becoming Hokage. Otherwise, she wouldn't have reacted the way she did last night.

But because of her hemophobia, she kept suppressing that intention.

'Still, as her disciple, I can't just assume my teacher's thoughts, right?'

Hiashi Hyuga's lips twitched slightly after hearing this. Though Aoba's answer wasn't problematic, it still gave him something to work with.

The word "currently" was enough to reveal something.

'But why does it feel like the kid is pretending to be clueless?'

'This little brat was clearly at the scene yesterday...'

'Didn't expect this kid to be such a skilled pretender at such a young age.'

Hiashi Hyuga pondered for a while.

In the end, he didn't ask further. He felt even if he did, the kid would just play dumb again.

"If Tsunade-sama ever needs anything from the Hyuga clan, don't hesitate to let us know," Hiashi Hyuga's tone was sincere. Even though yesterday's event was something he accidentally saw, and despite the Hyuga and Uchiha clans not having the best relationship, he still couldn't help feeling a sense of "when the rabbit dies, the fox grieves."

If the Uchiha clan were gone, the Hyuga would become Konoha's number one clan. [T/N: and next target]

"Uncle Hiashi, you're too kind. But if you ever need any help from me, I'd also be happy to assist," As he said this, Aoba even winked at Hiashi Hyuga.

"..."

'What help can you offer?'

"You can leave now!", Hiashi Hyuga didn't want to keep talking to this kid. If he did, he felt like his heart wouldn't be able to take it.

"Goodbye," Aoba got up right away.

But just as he stepped out of the guest room, the two sisters stopped him again.

Hinata was holding a book, her cheeks slightly red, "Aoba-kun, do you have time? I have a few questions I'd like to ask."

Aoba glanced at the book in Hinata's hand, it was about the vital points of the human body.

"No problem," The two of them sat back down in the living room. Hanabi took the chance to sit on Aoba's lap again.

That immediately ruined Hinata's already happy mood.

Hyuga Ayako had Hyuga Natsu prepare some fruit platters and also quietly sat to the side to listen.

When Hiashi Hyuga finally walked out of the guest room…

Only he had achieved the status of being hurt in this entire world.

———

At the entrance of the Hyuga compound—

"Aoba-kun, see you next time!"

"Aoba-nii, remember to bring banana milk next time!"

"Aoba-kun, you're always welcome to visit the Hyuga clan again!"

"Hmph!"

Just from those voices, Aoba could already picture each of their expressions without even needing to look.

He waved at them, then turned and walked into the rain.

He didn't stay in the Hyuga compound for long.

Though he really wanted to spend more time with the soft and sweet Hinata and Hanabi.

But Hiashi Hyuga was like a yandere, his eyes were constantly glued to Aoba, making him feel extremely uncomfortable.

After walking for a while, he stopped in front of a flower shop.

Though it was raining heavily today, for some people, that kind of weather actually felt more romantic.

So even on rainy days, the flower shop's business didn't suffer much.

Because of the rain, the sky was quite dark.

Inside the Yamanaka flower shop, the lights were bright.

Still just a small Ino, standing on a little stool behind the counter, was chatting and laughing with a female customer holding flowers.

The lights shone on her face, making her expression soft and warm. Her golden hair gleamed brightly.

Only when the conversation ended and the woman was about to leave did she notice Aoba standing outside the door.

The woman paused, suddenly thought of something, and reminded Ino, who was still tidying the counter.

Ino turned her head and saw Aoba standing outside and was momentarily stunned.

Aoba, seeing Ino notice him, also raised his gloved hand and waved at her through the glass, his smile radiant.
