The boar landed with a thud that shook the surrounding region.
Without giving the boar any time to regain its senses, Adrian leaped onto the now exposed underside of the boar and started throwing repeated punches towards the chest without holding anything back.
Blood splattered as his fist penetrated the beast's skin. Cracking sounds could be heard as his punches soon landed on the rib cage before promptly breaking them.
He only stopped when his punch landed on the beast's heart and shattered it. The light faded from the boar's eyes before its body finally went limp. It was dead.
Adrian heaved a sigh before jumping down from the beast's body. He was about to store it in his storage ring when he noticed a few presences that were approaching him at full speed. From their rapid footsteps, he knew that they weren't magical beasts, but rather humans.
His body tensed up as he immediately drew his sword and readied himself for a battle.
After a few moments, five figures appeared from the fog while staring at Adrian with a curious look on their faces.
They could sense his cultivation level, so they weren't worried about him. They couldn't see his face because he had quickly drawn up his mask before they arrived.
Adrian stared at the new arrivals in silence. From their robes, he could see that they were disciples of a sect, but he didn't know which one. His knowledge of the powers in this region was still shallow.
Since he wasn't in the territory of the Thorne family anymore, most of the families around here were unknown to him. Sects were an even bigger mystery. All he knew was that one of the five super sects on the Floating Cloud continent was near the Misty Mountains.
As for their exact location, he didn't know. However, from what little he knew, he could conclude that these disciples were not part of the War Machine sect.
That discovery did little to appease him. Just because they were disciples of a sect didn't mean they were good people.
The silent atmosphere lasted for a few moments. No one said anything as they were all inspecting each other. Adrian then stored the boar's corpse under the gaze of the five individuals. He then slowly started to back away without removing his gaze from them.
The disciples didn't try to stop him, and he was about to heave a sigh of relief just as one of them spoke.
"Where are you going?" A cold voice resounded. It was Robert who spoke. It was his idea to come here, and he didn't want to leave without anything.
'Shit!' He cursed internally. Adrian turned his head to stare at Robert without speaking. His grip on his sword tightened as he readied himself for a fight. That display didn't deter Robert as he kept on speaking.
"Where did a rogue cultivator like you get a space ring?" He spat out as his gaze shifted onto the bronze ring on Adrian's finger. His eyes flashed with greed, which he didn't bother to hide.
Even though it was the lowest-ranked space ring, it wasn't something a rogue cultivator in the Foundation Establishment realm could have. His words seemed to have reminded his group of that fact as they all stared at Adrian in a different light.
"Give us everything in your space ring or else you won't leave this place alive."
He said while smirking. Adrian still didn't say anything. His mind was contemplating what to do, but he could find no solution to that situation.
Without a word, the corpse of the boar reappeared, along with some rank 2 healing pills with a few thousand low-grade Qi stones.
He started to walk away slowly again before Robert erupted in fury.
"What the f*ck is this? I said to give us everything you have. Are you treating us like beggars? Do you think we have no money?"
His voice rose as he continued rambling on. At this point, everyone turned to stare at Robert. Even Adrian, the one being robbed, was staring at him with a look that said
'Are you a fool?'
Even the rest of his group were looking at him with disappointment. There were even some traces of disdain on the faces of the girls.
What else was he expecting from a rogue cultivator in the fifth stage of the foundation establishment realm? It was natural that he didn't have much. Their group was better off than him, but this was because they were disciples of a sect.
Robert noticed the gazes of everyone around him. He was a bit confused but soon realized his mistake after a few moments. His face flushed red as he began cursing at Adrian for embarrassing him.
Adrian, who hadn't said a word since this interaction began, was dumbfounded.
'What the fuck did I do? I haven't even said anything.' He thought to himself. However, he still didn't say anything.
His silence seemed to infuriate Robert, who then spat out venomously. "Since you think it's funny to humiliate people, you can pay for it with your storage ring."
Adrian's eyes darkened as he heard Robert's words. While he didn't care about the space ring, Robert's overbearing attitude was what truly made him angry.
However, he didn't act rashly. He quietly slipped off the ring from his finger before tossing it on the ground, near the carcass of the Boar.
Adrian stopped looking at him before turning around and walking away in a specific direction. He had only walked for a few meters before a different voice spoke again. "Hold it." A cold voice resounded again from his back.
'Oh! What now?' He groaned internally. He didn't dare to give voice to his complaints in front of so many potential enemies. Adrian turned around to face the one who spoke.
It was the strongest member of the group, and by the looks of it, their leader, Bryce.
"What were you going to do with the corpse of the boar?" Bryce asked as he kept staring at Adrian. The other members of the group shot questioning looks towards Bryce.
Wasn't he just obviously hunting?
