The grand auditorium of Tokyo University was filled with the buzz of excitement as the opening ceremony concluded. Among the attendees was Fujiwara Yoshitaka, the current Chairman of the National Security Council of Japan and the biological father of Fujiwara Tōru. He had come to witness the event.

He was quite pleased with Tōru's impromptu speech during the ceremony.

Not only had Tōru displayed the qualities of a skilled orator, but the content of his speech also earned Yoshitaka's approval.

As a member of the Fujiwara family, Tōru demonstrated the necessary resolve. His passionate and fiery speaking style would undoubtedly draw attention if he ever decided to enter politics and campaign for votes.

In a so-called "democratic" system, if you can't perform or deliver a compelling speech, forget about entering the political arena.

"I wonder if he truly has aspirations for a political career," Yoshitaka mused, hoping that Tōru might become the third generation of the Fujiwara family to take up the mantle.

As for his older brother and his three nieces from that branch of the family—well, aside from the fact that they were women, their personalities and upbringing simply didn't suit the demands of politics.

With this thought in mind, Yoshitaka turned to glance at the woman sitting beside him—a thirty-something-year-old figure clad in a traditional kimono.

She was impeccably well-groomed, with a voluptuous figure, her hair elegantly tied up in a bun. Her mature charm radiated grace, and she was none other than Yoshitaka's wife.

Yoshitaka's voice carried a cold edge as he spoke. "Let's go. We'll see Tōru together. I know you may not like him, but he's my son—my only son. Don't entertain any unnecessary thoughts."

The warning in his tone bore no resemblance to how one would address their spouse.

His wife bowed her head submissively, her voice trembling. "I wouldn't dare think otherwise, Yoshitaka."

Yoshitaka let out a faint snort. "I hope so."

His tone softened slightly. "…I recall your niece is studying at Tokyo University as well? And she's in the same faculty as Tōru?"

"You mean Yōno? Yes, she's in the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations. She's a sophomore now."

"Hmm… Then perhaps you could arrange for your niece to interact with Tōru."

Seeing her husband's attitude improve, Mrs. Fujiwara quickly expressed her gratitude.

The opening ceremony ended amidst the lively chatter of first-year students. However, what followed was sure to be another chaotic chapter of campus life.

Today, almost all freshmen were present—it was prime recruitment day for university clubs.

To ensure continuity within their organizations, upperclassmen did everything in their power to persuade new students to join their respective clubs on this very day.

What? You want to check out other clubs first? Let me tell you, our club is the best! Sign here right now and join us!

Fujiwara Yoshitaka and his wife arrived backstage at the auditorium in their capacity as Tōru's parents.

As the representative of the freshman class, Tōru still had some post-ceremony tasks to complete, sparing him—at least temporarily—from being bombarded by club recruiters.

However, someone had already beaten them to it and approached Tōru before anyone else.

From a distance, Yoshitaka observed as Tōru conversed with the newcomer. Pausing for a moment, he remained silent, waiting patiently for their conversation to conclude.

"Excuse me, Fujiwara-kun, may I have a word? My name is Yukinoshita Yōno. I'm also in the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations. I'm a sophomore and your senpai."

Tōru, who had been preparing to change out of his academic gown, found himself stopped in his tracks.

Looking at the striking young woman before him—her short, jet-black hair perfectly styled, her smile radiant, and her demeanor poised—Tōru momentarily froze.

After encountering Hiramatsu Shizuka, Tōru had recalled the main characters of Oregairu (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU). Thus, when the upperclassman introduced herself as "Yukinoshita Yōno" and revealed her stunning face, Tōru instantly recognized her identity.

'Yukinoshita Yōno? In the anime, doesn't she attend some local university in Chiba? Why is she at Tokyo University?'

But then again, this wasn't the original world; differences were to be expected.

Especially considering that if Yukinoshita Yōno was as exceptional as portrayed in the anime, attending a lesser-known university in Chiba would indeed seem odd.

For families like hers, choosing the right university for their descendants was crucial—not just for its reputation but also for the networking opportunities and social resources available.

University alumni networks were among the simplest yet most valuable connections one could make. Many prominent figures in politics and economics were graduates of prestigious institutions!

Therefore, it made perfect sense for Yukinoshita Yōno to enroll at Tokyo University. Attending a local university instead would have been a deliberate rejection of these advantages—an act bordering on foolishness.

"Senpai Yukinoshita, what brings you here?"

Tōru asked politely, keeping his tone amiable.

Unbeknownst to her, his gaze subtly swept over her appearance.

Yukinoshita Yōno wore a pair of jeans and canvas shoes, paired with a form-fitting long top resembling an undershirt, covered by a simple jacket. While her outfit wasn't particularly trendy, it exuded youthfulness. The snug top accentuated her curves, revealing just enough cleavage to catch the eye—a detail sure to stir admiration.

She was a woman who understood how to leverage her physical assets and feminine charm, fully aware of her strengths.

"I just wanted to ask—would Fujiwara-kun be interested in joining the club I'm part of?"

"What kind of club? If it's something strange, I won't join."

Yukinoshita Yōno's smile was bright and graceful, embodying the image of a cheerful older sister—the quintessential "senpai." "Oh, it's nothing unusual. It's actually one of the most popular activities in Japan right now—karate."

"Even here at Tokyo University, it's one of the largest and most renowned clubs. If a freshman representative like you were to join, it would be an honor for us."

Yukinoshita Yōno knew full well that someone like Tōru—freshly admitted to Tokyo University and already established as a freshman representative—was bound to be proud.

Thus, she adopted a humble demeanor, appealing to his male ego. Additionally, given that it was one of Tokyo University's most prestigious clubs, she assumed it would naturally pique his interest.

'Karate? I thought Yukinoshita Yōno practiced aikido in the anime. Well, in a world where Detective Conan exists, I suppose karate reigns supreme.'

Tōru smirked inwardly, suppressing a chuckle.
