Chapter 40 - The Devil Inside The Mirror.

Yanwei tried to activate the technique once more but it was thwarted, his Qi just refusing to rise and circulate across his body.

"Trying to tilt the scales in your favor again Yanwei?"

Wanmei had disappeared into mist, his voice coming from all directions and mirrors rose from a crevice in the ground, shaking Yanwei's body.

"No need. I'm not done yet."

Yanwei stated in a monotone voice, his expression calm and controlled. He took a deep breath, his eyes glowing white.

This maze.... It still has normal Qi floating around. So this isn't a seperate dimension.

He thought to himself as Wanmei suddenly reappeared before him, wielding a pair of purple twin daggers.

"Lets hope you aren't too powerless without that technique."

Yanwei unsheathed his sword, blocking the slash from the daggers with surprising ease. Going as far as to even push Wanmei back, sending him stumbling back a few steps.

"You don't need to hope on anything. I'll be taking you into deep, deep waters. So be ready."

He said bluntly, swinging his sword at Wanmei's face who deflected the attack towards the ground but Yanwei used the sword as a pivot to kick the latter in the face.

Wanmei remained unharmed but it seemed like he was cracking, like a mirror hit by a small pebble. The damage small but noticeable.

"Phew~ Nice."

Wanmei looked at Yanwei through the mask before he immediately headbutted him in the nose.

Yanwei grunted slightly, his head reeling back but he caught himself, spinning around to heel kick Wanmei in the liver.

Just like before, he cracked slightly, but aside from that he was completely unharmed.

"Put some hip into it Yanwei!"

Wanmei yelled out, his tone mockingly dripping with advice.

Yanwei jumped away, breathing heavily, his eyelids growing heavy and his vision becoming more and more blurry.

What's.. Going on? I... My stamina just got drained so quickly...

Wanmei put his hands behind his back, letting out a small yet disgustingly sadistic chuckle.

"You see Yanwei, I have quite the unique ability."

He said as his hair became longer turning white, golden at the edges and his eyes glowing white under his mask.

"I am a mirror. One that will show you who you could be."

He lunged forward, the faint, almost ghost like form of none other then Yanwei himself appeared behind him as he punched Yanwei in the stomach.

"Perfection is not being unique my friend! Its being the collection of all the beings in this world and taking their best shape."

Yanwei's vision blackened for a moment before he regained it—he grabbed onto Wanmei's fist, squeezing it tightly before his throat started glowing white.

"Shut. Up."

A wave of roaring fire came pouring out from Yanwei's mouth—his veins starting to glow white as well as his eyes.

Wanmei took the attack, staring at Yanwei through the flames, his eyes still glowing in an unnerving manner.

"A fish shall try to escape to the ocean when it is caught Yanwei."

He walked through the flames and before Yanwei could even process it, he was knocked out, his body falling to the ground.

But the torture hadn't even begun.

Inside of his mind he was in front of none other then Jinshen—but this was a twisted and morphed version.

It had long dirty fingernails, its hair was unkempt and his teeth yellow. His jaw was mangled, turned and almost broken—his mouth wide open, drool slipping down the edges.

Yanwei immediately kicked that thing in the face as it screeched like an animal, crawling away like a bug on all fours.

"Yanwei. Why do you resist?"

Wanmei—no, Jinshen's voice was there, coming from behind and when Yanwei turned around he was really there.

Fully dressed in his signature jade green robe, his eyes glowing blue, his features and gaze still sharp—and that charming yet dry smirk on his face.

"Why do you resist me? I'm Wanmei remember?"

Yanwei's eyes widened for a moment before he took a deep breath, clenching his fists at his side before once again, kicking the more normal version of Jinshen in the face.

"Tsk tsk tsk.."

Jinshen's body changed and morphed to Wanmei's but before Yanwei could perhaps try and fight back Wanmei.

He was already defeated.

Wanmei grabbed his head, pushing him down to his knees—placing his thumbs on Yanwei's temple.

"Alright then, I'll be taking over you—thank you very much."

Yanwei yelled out in pain, it felt like he was falling through panes of glass in the sky, over and over, and over again. His memories, slowly turned into something... different.

Jinshen was replaced in each and every one of them, by none other then Wanmei, and in all of them, the real Jinshen? He was the villain, the evil one.

Meanwhile Wanmei? He was the messiah, the best and kindest man who has ever touched the land.

Yanwei couldn't help out but to try and retaliate, trying his best to push of Wanmei but he just couldn't.

He was Yanwei's savior after all.

The whole day had passed, Yanwei was now happily grinning in front of the mirror, his hair covering his eyes.

He was wearing incredibly fancy, almost royal golden robes layered on top of each other as well as a large, blood red signet on his right hand's middle finger.

He happily walked through the tower, the workers bowing to him, some going as far as to get on their knees in front of him.

But something was off, Yanwei's eyes were... White, they had no pupil, no sclera, not even veins. They were like two large white marbles in place of his eyes.

He arrived in front of none other then Wanmei, who put his hand on Yanwei's shoulder. The small, wound like smile drawn onto his mask growing.

"Good. You're my warrior now. My sword that will bring about my perfection to the whole world."

His voice was as silky smooth and calm as ever but.. It was slightly hurried.

Yanwei nodded with fervor, bowing deeply towards Wanmei who walked towards a glass throne, the surroundings changing into a throne room made of pure glass.

He sat down, taking a deep breath before looking in a seemingly random direction but it was unmistakable, he was.. Afraid of something, evident due to his wide eyes and trembling body.

Shit... He's.. Back.

His heart started beating faster, beads of sweat started to form. He clutched at the armrest of the glass throne, cracking it.

He's not supposed to be here yet!!

In the direction he was looking, at the peak of a far away mountain, a man stood at the cloudy peak.

Looking below with divine glowing blue eyes and a small dry smirk plastered across his face.

His long hair waved in the rapid winds, he was wearing a black robe with white lightning embroidery on his stomach and shoulder, a large spear in his right hand—the white spearhead resembled flames while the black handle was slim and metallic.

We're so back master, its time to fuck some people up! Lets... GOOO!!!

This voice belonged to none other then Nanomachine—and this man? Was The Prince In Black, Jinshen Zhe himself.

"Shut up. Damned nanomachine."

Jinshen replied to the Nanomachine out loud, pausing before his smirk widened into a more mocking one.

"I'll be calling you Xian Zha from now on... Piece of shit."

The Nanomachine gasped slightly, its voice so incredibly offended that it might just jump off the moutain.

"Bitchy Master! Tsundere!"

Jinshen smirk widened as he spun around the spear in his hands, a bolt of lightning coming out, making the clouds themselves part to make way for him as the palace of the Swordsong clan was struck by the light of the sun.

Yunxia looked up from her garden. The wind from the spear, holding a small tea cup as she stared up at the sky. A smirk on her face.

"My serpent is finally here. I bet Xie is going to lose it. She's been fantasizing a bit too much these days..."

The Nanomachine immediately paused in its yelling of profanities towards its master instead, its voice turned a bit more mischievous and excited.

Wohoo!! Big daddy Jinshen is back in business with me!! Here we go!! Get ready to get spanked to death!!
