Wynne was surprised.
"Who is it?"
"It was Miss Morrison at the party today. Her pills might be able to save Uncle Whitmore."
He was taken aback. The pills did indeed have an effect, but he looked at Thomas lying on the hospital bed and still shook his head.
"If we used her things, he would give up on life even if he were cured."
He knew Thomas well enough to say that.
Amy said nothing, but there was a hint of doubt in her eyes.
Suddenly, a clear and beautiful voice sounded.
"Is there really no way to save Dad?"
Everyone looked in the direction of the voice and saw a young girl, dusty and hurriedly running over with an urgent look.
Wynne was puzzled.
"Susan? Why are you back?"
Susan looked at Thomas on the bed, her eyes gradually turning moist.
"If I didn't come back, I would never see Dad again. You all hid this matter from me..."
