Beijing is the capital of Huaxia Country, a place that many people aspire to visit.
I remember hearing a joke before: You don't know you're timid until you go to the Northeast, you don't realize your drinking limit until you go to the Northwest, you don't know you're too naive until you go to Shanghai, you don't know you're unattractive until you go to Hangzhou, you don't realize your stomach isn't great until you go to Guangdong, you don't know your wallet's thin until you go to Shenzhen, you don't know you got married too early until you go to Chongqing, you don't know your health is poor until you go to Hainan, you don't experience true socialism until you go to Tianjin, and it's only upon arriving in Beijing that you realize how small your influence is!!
Li Si was a bit excited and thrilled, took a taxi to find a business hotel to stay. She planned to start looking for a house the next day and hopefully also take a good tour of Beijing.
"Miss Li, how do you feel about this apartment? There's been a lot of interest in it over the past few days, and to be honest, this apartment is really in demand!"
When Li Si was wandering near the business hotel, she saw quite a large agency, "Zhongxin Real Estate".
Here, agent Xiao Sun already recommended several two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments to her. Li Si was very satisfied with the community she was currently viewing; the property's management was a large company, the landscaping was excellent, the third-floor apartment facing north and south had a nice layout, two bedrooms and one living room, decorated in a country style. The community was also very close to University City, and the nearby business circle is already well-developed, making shopping convenient.
The owner was eager to go abroad, so the property urgently listed for sale at 4,200 RMB per square meter, only costing 360,000, with all furniture and appliances included and all fees covered. This meant she could move in with just her luggage. It was also Li Si's luck that she happened to catch this deal.
Li Si hid her excited expression and calmly decided, "I'll take this one then, let's see when the owner is available to transfer ownership and payment?"
Xiao Sun was very pleased, thinking since his performance target for the month seemed accomplished. He smiled widely imagining the commission after this deal closed, further increasing his enthusiasm towards Li Si.
"By the way, do you see any good commercial properties nearby? I'd like to buy a unit too."
Feeling that Xiao Sun was quite nice, Li Si didn't want to switch agencies, preferring to directly purchase another commercial property. It could be rented out now to earn rental income. When she comes to Beijing in the future, she'll have a location ready for any business venture.
Xiao Sun was so excited that his face turned red. At first, he thought the pretty young lady might not actually make a purchase. Who would have thought he'd not only earn a commission from one residential property. If this commercial property deal succeeded, his commission for the month would exceed ten thousand.
"There's a first-floor shop near Huaxia University, not very large in size, but no matter what business you do there, it's profitable. Let me take you to have a look!"
Li Si was delighted inside, thinking it was great that the size wasn't large. After paying for the apartment, she had less than a million left. If it were too big, she wouldn't be able to handle it.
When she and Xiao Sun reached the commercial premises, she felt even more satisfied. The area wasn't large, around 80 square meters. But the location was indeed excellent, situated at a street corner, easily accessible from everywhere. If she planned to rent it out, it should be easy to find tenants. With several universities nearby, why worry about not having patrons? In a few years, she could open some kind of store; she vaguely had a concept in mind but needed to see how robust the produce from her space would be.
After completing the payments for the two properties, Li Si checked her remaining funds and, after renting out the storefront, she had only about 150,000 RMB left in her account. After all, it wasn't like in 2014 anymore, renting the storefront to a woman selling cosmetics, collecting 20,000 RMB in rent per year, with a 3-year contract signed. It felt like returning to the beginning again, needing to find a way for money to make more money quickly.
Li Si spent more than ten days in Beijing, settling the real estate matters. Happily thinking to herself that everything was ready, just waiting for property prices to rise.
There was still some time before school started, so Li Si took a simple tour of Beijing's attractions, joining a one-day tour group. She found it very fun but also exhausting.
Recently, during idle evenings, Li Si tended to the land using water from the small river within her space, resulting in vegetables and fruits constantly ripening, even apple trees, peach trees, and cherry trees were loaded with fruits.
Eating freshly picked big cherries, Li Si was a bit puzzled by the unexpectedly large yield. While harvesting, she accidentally discovered she could fully use her spiritual power to automatically reap the harvest, which was the biggest surprise for Li Si!
The medicinal plant seeds she casually sowed earlier were fortunately given a separate patch. Not only were they thriving, but aside from the ginseng, she didn't recognize many of the other herbs, so she just let them grow freely. She thought it might be worthwhile to find a medical book and study these herbs. Unlike fruits and vegetables, you can't just eat these casually. If she truly understood them, she could help those in need, which would be a virtue, right?
One day, with a slightly overcast sky and no blazing sun, Li Si tidied up and decided to take a stroll around Pan Garden. She heard about it from a tour guide chatting away. Although she wasn't intent on hunting for treasures, gaining some knowledge would be good.
She took a taxi to Pan Garden, where the cab driver was especially talkative, sharing numerous rumors and tales of finding rare treasures, spittle flying as he spoke. Li Si didn't find it polite to interrupt and silently sat in the back seat, appreciating the enthusiasm of capital city residents.
She started browsing from the roadside stalls, looking at many trinkets; one was said to be from the Han dynasty, another from the Tang dynasty. According to the stall owners, they came from all sorts of eras, but none were from the modern day.
Some vendors initially targeted her as an easy mark, but ever since her bone marrow cleansing, Li Si's senses had become much sharper. Their behavior easily led her to detect tricks and deceit.
Left with no choice, Li Si ventured into the nearby shops, thinking the goods and staff within must be better. Little did she know, unscrupulous sellers were the same everywhere, especially those dealing in antiques, seasoned enough to gauge your expertise with a glance, pricing a piece worth a few hundred in multiples.
After visiting several shops, Li Si didn't find anything she immediately wanted to buy, mainly because she had limited RMB on her. Some tiny items started at several hundred thousand. Unable to afford them, she could only look.
Suddenly, the sound of firecrackers came; Li Si curiously followed the crowd to a Treasure House store, wondering what it was about and noticing it didn't appear to be a grand opening.
"Oh my, the gamble paid off! It's quite a win!"
"This person really hit it big, who knows how many times it'll multiply!"
"Hey, I heard the icy type is not bad! Though a bit small, it sold for 1 million."
The people around were chattering eagerly. Their expressions contained excitement, as well as some envy and jealousy.
This establishment stood out as the largest in the area. Upon entering, the atmosphere felt different, with a touch of ancient elegance in its décor, as Li Si walked around looking. The store had few customers inside, while out in the backyard, more than a dozen people were looking closely at stones with flashlights and magnifying glasses.
Li Si walked towards the spot where a large group gathered. Upon getting closer, she saw a middle-aged man with a simple appearance and an excited expression, holding an egg-sized stone carefully in his hands.
Could this be the legendary jadeite? Somehow it seemed so unsightly, semi-transparent, smooth on the surface, filled with many impurities inside. The stones in her space's little river looked better. Li Si inwardly shook her head, feeling the reality didn't live up to the legend concerning gem gambling, slightly disappointed.
