Chapter 52: Check if there's anything
Everett emerged from the bathroom, steam still clinging faintly to his skin from the long, cold bath. Fully dressed, his eyes drifted toward the bed, where Zaiyila slept peacefully. A delicate petal shimmered on her forehead. His brows furrowed.
Then he saw it—her hair. The strands were slowly turning blue.
"Thankfully, I didn't commit another sin," he mused, "or I might have disrupted her recovery again."
He brushed his hand through her hair, and the hue gently returned to its original black even the beautiful blue petal disappear as well with no traces.
"When you regain your powers and memories, I'll be the happiest man on Earth—no, in all the worlds," he whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. A glance at the table clock told him it was 6:33 a.m.
"Sleep more, my beautiful Queen," he smiled, then slipped away to prepare breakfast.
