In the Amritas House, after spending six long hours in the Origin World, Roman finally returned to Ashtrum I.
Astonishingly, the injuries he had sustained in the Origin World began healing rapidly, as if those scars had never existed. Even the persistent back pain from school disappeared completely, like it had never been there. But one big problem immediately appeared—the Elder's corpse had returned with him.
The sheer weight of it shook the entire building's foundation. Not only that—the walls between rooms collapsed instantly into dust upon impact.
Aelia, his sister, almost started crying when she saw the black, weird alloy-like chitin wrecking her room.Thankfully, his aunt wasn't home...Because if she had been, being in the room right next to his, she would've been turned into meat paste.
Still being a responsible brother, Roman immediately ran toward his sister's room.Seeing Aelia safe and unharmed, he let out a sigh of relief before quickly calling the Awakened Association connected to his school.
The Association wasted no time—they immediately sent a support team to his house. Not long after, Aunt Amrita returned home. The moment she saw the state of the house—walls broken, floors cracked, a giant insect corpse lying in the middle—she froze.
Slowly, she turned to look at Roman with an expression that could only be described as pure, silent annoyance.
"Next time, kid," the old man sighed, "when you go to the Origin World, try to use a space ring. And that thing..." —he pointed at the dead Elder Lice— "do you want to sell it to the government?"
"Yeah, sure," Roman said, "as long as you give me a fair price."
The old man laughed."If I'm not mistaken, you're the new freshman, right? So how the hell did you manage to kill this thing?" he asked, genuinely curious.
Roman scratched the back of his head, still lying flat on the ground."I... was just lucky. But..." —he added quickly, telling half-truth and half-lie— "its minions helped me a lot. Fighting them leveled me up—my talent reached Tier 2 because of it."
He spoke truthfully yet hid the important parts.Everyone had secrets. That didn't mean they were going to tell everything to anyone.
The old man didn't press further. He had seen it all. This type of thing wasn't rare. Many kids, knowingly or unknowingly, tried to break into the Origin World. Some survived, some didn't.
And those who did survive... usually became the most monstrous Awakened of their batch.
As for how Roman managed to kill such a giant creature? The old man honestly didn't care too much.
It was obvious—the child was heavily injured, probably near death, and by pure luck, struck the Elder's hidden weak spot during the fight.
Feeling the boy was still shaken, the old man clapped Roman's shoulder lightly and said,"You're a good soldier's son, kid. Don't throw your life away doing meaningless things."
Seeing a rare opportunity, Roman quickly asked,"About that, Mr. Fang... do you know how I could buy a good sword? Something real. So next time I don't have to fight barehanded?"
"Also... a good space ring would be great too," Roman added, not missing the chance.
Understanding Roman's concern, Old Man Fang chuckled.
"I'll send you a good sword... and the best space ring we have. Don't worry. Selling that Elder Lice alone covers all those expenses," he said with a small smile on his wrinkled face.
Roman finally sighed in relief.
After all that mess was sorted, Roman went to meet with his fat best friend Foggy and Lily, who immediately shouted at him for his reckless behaviour.
Roman just laughed it off.He didn't care anymore.Something inside him had shifted.
He wasn't stupid. This life of fighting and dying every day?It wasn't for him.
From that moment on, he changed his mentality, his goal for the future—Instead of chasing the path of an Awakened warrior, he would become something different.A politician.Someone who didn't have to fight and bleed just to survive.
Fighting wasn't his dream.Living was.
After spending some time hanging out with his friends, the day finally arrived. The day to head toward the AIIA Main Campus. The place where the real training began—To become a proper Origin Warrior.
