Chapter 67 - 67. Daimon alliance

"Well, apart from the redness, which even a well-grown cherry would envy, nothing." Etele shrugged.

"Yeah..." Rahul rolled his eyes and put his hands on his hips. "Okay, can we move on? If I see correctly, the Tapló boss is still not here. We better find him fast!" The boy started in one direction, not even paying attention to whether the others were following him.

"Something really upset him." Remarked Etele holding his chin.

"How do you know?" The question came from Cita.

"The last time I saw him so upset was when his mother caught him ruining the cake she made for dinner." The ghost shrugged.

"But..." Citar began.

"Don't even try, Bolacsuk, you won't get anything out of him. We'd better go after him before we lose not only Csito, but him as well." Etele shook his head, then started after Rahul, followed by the other Athamanas.

"Are those counters really standing on water?" Benkó blinked when the team stopped on the seashore.

"Unless we're all crazy, then yes." Achilleus put his hands on his hips.

"But, how is this possible?" Rahul asked as he crouched down on the shore and put his hand in the water.

"Grandpa?" Teveli turned to Etele with a questioning look.

"Don't look at me, I have no idea." The ghost raised his arms defensively.

"Could this be the fair the daimon king mentioned?" Suk grabbed his chin.

"It's a fair and the ghosts can walk quite a bit between the counters." Rahul stood up. "Let's go and see if Razvan is in here somewhere." He said and stepped onto the surface of the sea with the team by his side.

To their greatest surprise, they were able to walk on the surface of the water without any problems, as if they were only walking on land. As they went further inside the rows, they passed by many strange counters, some with vials, some with various carved wooden objects, but also some with pearl jewelry, or fragrant food, or pieces of clothing.

At first, the team didn't even notice that something was wrong. Although it was quite strange that most of the vendors took a step or two back if they happened to be closer to one of the counters. However, they didn't care too much about it, especially since the ghosts were out of their way, so they could easily move between the lines, except that Razvan was still nowhere to be found. The leader of the team seemed to be swallowed up by the earth.

Everything went smoothly until, turning into another line, a demon started towards the team with a wide grin on his distorted face. Of course, the Athamanas immediately took up arms, but the demon didn't care about the hegins, it looked like it wanted to catch only Rahul, avoiding the others. However, when he would have attacked the chüvigh boy, as if he had been struck by lightning, he was reduced to dust before the eyes of the team.

"What the hell was that?" The boy blinked with wide open eyes.

"It's a ghost contract!" Suk's eyes widened as Rahul looked at him suspiciously. "On your forehead, it's a ghost contract, but that can't be, we've all seen that you made a contract with a soul creature. You couldn't possibly know more than one tribe's technique." He explained.

"This is not a simple ghost contract..." Teveli said seriously, but before he could continue, Etele stepped in front of Rahul and grabbed the boy's shoulders.

"Didn't I tell you to never look a ghost or a demon in the eye?!" He asked angrily, and Rahul grimaced.

"You never said that!" He snorted, and Etele started to blink as if thinking.

"I really didn't say it." He stated. "If I told you, you would have never looked me in the eye and I couldn't make an alliance with you." He thought again.

"Did you make an alliance with me?_ Rahul tilted his head to the side.

"Of course I did, what do you think that mark is around your ankle?" The ghost snorted.

"I thought it was a scar." Rahul rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, a scar... Never mind." Etele shook his head. "I'll tell you now. Never look a dead person in the eye, ir might force a contract on you." The ghost announced.

"Thank you. It doesn't matter now. This shit is here." Rahul pointed to his forehead.

"But why did you look into his eyes?" The ghost relative prevailed.

"I didn't have much of a choice!" Rahul said and his face started to boil again.

"What do you mean?" Citar asked interested.

"Let me not say it." Rahul shivered.

"I'll tell you later." Etele grabbed Rahul's head from both sides and looked directly into his eyes. There was silence for a few moments, and then Etele swallowed.

"You really had no choice." The ghost blinked a few times.

"Why?" Citar insisted.

"Let me not say it." Etele repeated Rahul's words.

"This is a daimon contract. This is the strongest contract I have ever seen. " Teveli interrupted suddenly.

"What kind of daimon did you meet?" Etele questioned Rahul, and the boy just crossed his arms in front of him.

"Didn't you look at my memories just now? You should know." He turned his head to the side.

"I was hoping my eyesight was bad!" The features of concern appeared on Etele's face.

"Well, if you've seen the idiot daimon king, then you see very well." Rahul snarled and constantly avoided the eyes of the team members.

"If Csito finds out, it won't end well." Etele muttered to himself thoughtfully.

"If I find out what?" At the sudden sound, the ghost jumped in fright and turned to face Razvan. "Your mood is as if someone has been killed..." He looked through each member of the Athamanas one by one, but when he looked at Rahul, the word stuck in him. "How did you get another one?" The boy's hands clenched into fists, and Rahul realised that it's most likely that, unfortunately, this contract also has kí.

"Don't get so upset, I didn't want it to get here." Rahul sighed.

"Did you let a daimon make an alliance with you?" Razvan asked and stepped straight in front of Rahul.

"I'll tell you again! I had no choice!" Rahul shout. "Besides, if you hadn't been away to heaven knows where the hell, then we wouldn't have had to search and that bastard wouldn't have been able to catch me!" Rahul said angrily.

"Did someone tell you to get away from the palace?! You could have waited there!" Razvan shot back.

"Of course! Then, if you get into trouble, we're all stuck here!" Rahul continued to shout.

"It's okay, kids. Let's not start drawing attention to ourselves." Etele spoke up.

"Shut up!" Rahul and Razvan shouted at the same time, then they returned to their discussion, and Etele could only blink for a few minutes, along with the Athamanas.

"Even then, you could have been more careful!" Razvan grumbled.

"He kissed me for the love of God! What should have I done, huh?!" Rahul blurted out, but the sentence was enough to make Razvan's mouth open and his fisted hands release. "Tapló boss?" Rahul took a big swallow, but the leader of the Athamana just turned around and headed back towards the palace. "Razvan! Where are you going?" Rahul grabbed the boy's shoulder.

"I will kill that daimon." Razvan announced, but his voice was so icy that every member of the team was shaken by the cold.

"I don't want to spoil your mood, Csito, but you are not on the same level." Etele shook his head. "You won't find him in the palace anyway."

"What?" The Zaukán boy turned angrily towards Etele.

"As soon as we left the palace, the flowers withered. The daimon king is no longer around, but if you stay here too long, all you'll achieve is that you won't be able to leave. The Shadow World wasn't invented for humans, and anyway, as I see it, you've already done your shopping, so there's nothing else to do here." He said, then he stepped next to the boy and patted him on the shoulder. "You will have plenty of time to figure out how to deal with the daimon king. Now pull yourself together and think about your team!" He whispered next to her ear. "Come on guys. Let's get away from here. I don't know about you, but I don't like this Shadow World."

"Not just you." Rahul and Razvan snorted at the same time, and the others began to nod violently. After this horrible day, they all wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible.
