Chapter 43 - The New Bodyguard, Named Tiansha

Jiang Che pulled up outside the detention center and quickly spotted Mu Xiaoyao and Wang Yang waiting for him.

"Boss Jiang, you're here!"

Wang Yang greeted him with an enthusiastic smile.

Mu Xiaoyao had already filled him in on everything, and he knew that Jiang Che was the key figure in this case.

More importantly, this case was being closely monitored by higher-ups—if everything went smoothly, Wang Yang might get a major promotion.

And if that happened, he knew who to thank.

So now, facing Jiang Che again, his attitude was more than friendly—it was almost reverent.

"Thank you, Mr. Jiang, for your help in this matter," Wang Yang said sincerely.

Jiang Che waved a hand dismissively.

"Wang Bureau, you're too polite. This is just something I had to do."

After exchanging a few pleasantries, Wang Yang signaled for an officer to bring something over—a silk pennant.

When Jiang Che took it, his eyes twitched slightly.

Embroidered in bold gold characters were the words:

"Brave and Wise – The People's Hero."

Jiang Che's lips curled into a half-smile, half-smirk.

Brave and wise? Sure.

A people's hero? Not exactly.

He wasn't fighting for justice—Ye Chen had planned to take action against him, so naturally, he had fought back.

"Mr. Jiang is too humble," Wang Yang said with a serious expression.

"Without your intelligence, we wouldn't have known the extent of Ye Chen's activities. If left unchecked, who knows how much harm he could have caused?"

Jiang Che said nothing, but inwardly, he scoffed.

Ye Chen wasn't an idiot.

Even if he had gotten his hands on that batch of goods, he wouldn't have risked public disruption.

His background simply couldn't withstand too much scrutiny.

Still, Jiang Che didn't argue. After exchanging a few more words, Wang Yang left—he had another meeting to attend.

With Wang Yang gone, Jiang Che turned to Mu Xiaoyao.

"What charges will Ye Chen face?"

Mu Xiaoyao's tone turned serious.

"Money laundering, illegal arms trade, aiding mercenaries, murder, and other crimes."

She paused before adding coldly:

"Most likely, he'll get the death penalty—and it will be carried out immediately."

Jiang Che raised an eyebrow.

"That bad?"

"With so many charges stacked against him, even if they spare his life, he won't see the outside world ever again."

Jiang Che nodded, satisfied.

"And Xiao Han?"

"He'll probably get around fifteen years."

Jiang Che smirked.

"Fair enough. Well then, I won't take up any more of your time, Officer Mu. I'll be on my way."

As he turned to leave, Mu Xiaoyao watched his retreating figure, muttering to herself.

"What a mysterious man…"

There were too many secrets surrounding Jiang Che.

And the more she saw of him, the more she wanted to unravel them.

Back at Ivy Villa, Jiang Che wasted no time.

The moment he entered his room, he activated his system.

"System, open my attributes panel."

A glowing blue screen instantly materialized in front of him.

Jiang Che's eyes narrowed thoughtfully.

"System, can I summon loyal bodyguards?"

He wasn't sure if such a function existed, but if it did, he needed to start building his own force.

"Yes," the system replied.

"The following bodyguard options are available for purchase."

A new menu appeared.

[Bodyguard Summoning]

● Peak Huajin (Peak Energy Level) – 3,000 points

● Peak Innate – 10,000 points

● Peak Grandmaster – 30,000 points

Jiang Che tapped his fingers on the table.

A Grandmaster-level bodyguard would be ideal, but 30,000 points was far beyond what he had.

For now, a Peak Huajin expert would be more than enough.

"Summon one Peak Huajin bodyguard," he ordered.

"Confirmed. 3,000 plot points deducted."

"Bodyguard summoning in progress… Arrival in five minutes."

Jiang Che leaned back in his chair, waiting.

Sure enough, after a few minutes, a maid entered the room.

"Young Master, there is a man outside claiming to be your bodyguard."

"Let him in."

A moment later, a tall, imposing man dressed in black entered.

He appeared to be around thirty years old, his posture rigid, his expression cold and disciplined.

There was no doubt—this was the bodyguard summoned by the system.

Jiang Che eyed him carefully.

"Do you have a name?"

The man immediately knelt on one knee and clasped his fists.

"Master, I have no name."

"I ask the Master to grant me one."

Jiang Che's lips twitched.

"First of all, don't call me 'Master'—just 'Young Master' is fine."

Being called 'Master' by a young woman? He'd love it.

Being called 'Master' by a grown man? That was just unsettling.

"Understood, Young Master."

Jiang Che thought for a moment before smirking.

"From now on, your name will be Tiansha."

The man nodded without hesitation.

"I, Tiansha, will follow Young Master's orders to the death."

Jiang Che's smirk widened.

With a loyal bodyguard now at his disposal, things were about to get even more interesting.
