Chapter 107 - Chapter 107: Chilling Fear

The sound of the ruins collapsing echoed like thunder in every inch of the air. Lucas led the team to run at full speed. Darkness and rubble were constantly collapsing behind them, as if even heaven and earth were against them. The originally solid ancient road was covered by cracked rocks, and every step under their feet was full of danger. Cracks were everywhere, and the intense vibration made everyone's nerves tense, as if an apocalyptic storm was about to engulf everything.

"Faster, don't stop!" Alton's voice came from the front, with an undeniable sense of urgency. Apparently, the collapse of the ruins was not just the result of external forces but was being manipulated by some more terrifying power. This power could no longer be ignored. It seemed that not only the resurrected dark monster but also a deeper threat was awakening.

"We're almost there!" Darlene's voice was full of anxiety. She looked at the end in front, where a huge beam of light faintly shone through the cracks. That beam of light seemed to be the only hope, but it was also the source of their unknown fears.

Finally, in a violent shake, the team arrived at the core area of the ruins - a huge open space. This place was not as dilapidated as the others but was faintly filled with a mysterious atmosphere. Giant runes were inlaid on the ground, like some ancient formation, mysterious and complex, emitting a faint light. The moment they stepped into this open space, the sky suddenly darkened, and the source of the beam of light on the ground was a huge portal.

The portal was made of thick stone walls, and the door frame was engraved with complex symbols and totems, as if telling some ancient legend. A crack split in the center of the door, and from the crack, the dark aura surged out like a tide, like the entrance to an abyss, making one's hair stand on end.

"Is this... the Abyss Gate?" Lucas took a deep breath. Although no one answered explicitly, he could already feel the suffocating power. This was not just a passage but the source of some unknown terrifying power.

"The Abyss Gate is the key to sealing the power of the abyss," Alton's voice sounded again. His expression was more serious than before. "Whether it's the resurrection of the dark monster or the collapse of these ruins, it's all because this door has been triggered. What's sealed behind the door is an existence beyond imagination, the true power of darkness."

Lucas gripped his double blades tightly, and a strong sense of unease rose in his heart. This door might not just be a passage to another world but was more likely the source of disaster. If they couldn't stop all this, the consequences would be disastrous.

"What should we do?" Darlene looked at the door, a trace of worry on her face. "Do we have to go in?"

Alton took a deep breath, and a determined light flickered in his eyes. "If we don't go in, the power of the abyss will be out of control, and the entire continent will be plunged into darkness. We have no choice."

At this time, the crack at the door began to emit even more dazzling light, and the temperature in the air suddenly rose, as if the whole world was trembling. Suddenly, a huge suction force came from the door, as if trying to suck them in. "Everyone, be careful!" Victor shouted and quickly grabbed Lucas's shoulder, trying to steady their position. However, the pressure in the air was getting greater and greater, and Lucas felt as if he was being tightly pressed by an invisible force,

and the strength in his limbs was gradually disappearing.

Just then, Alton suddenly turned around, raised his hands, and chanted some ancient incantation in a low voice. As the incantation sounded, the crack at the door suddenly stopped expanding, and the suction force also weakened. However, the fluctuation of this power still couldn't be eliminated, and the abyss aura behind the door was still seeping out continuously.

"The incantation can't completely seal it," Alton said calmly. "But at least we can delay it for a while."

"How much time do we have?" Lucas asked, his voice tinged with urgency.

"Not much time," Alton replied, with an undeniable warning in his voice. "This door has started to activate itself. We must find a way to close it as soon as possible."

"How do we close it?" Darlene asked hurriedly.

"The method is simple," Alton said slowly. "Only by finding the true source behind the Abyss Gate can we completely close it. And that source is... the core of the abyss power."

"The core of the abyss power?" Victor frowned. "What does that mean? Where do we look for it?" "The core is at the deepest part of this ruin," Alton said as he looked around, his eyes scanning the endless darkness. "But this is not an ordinary place. It's a space distorted by the power of the abyss. After we go in, each of us will face unknown tests."

"Tests?" Darlene was a bit puzzled, but soon she realized the danger. The core of the abyss power must be an extremely dangerous place, and they were about to enter a hell full of traps and deadly challenges.

"Yes, tests," Alton continued. "This ruin itself is a kind of seal. The core of the abyss power is closely related to the structure of the entire ruin. Only by passing these tests can we find a way to close the door."

As soon as the words were spoken, the air around the team suddenly became stagnant, and the space seemed to be distorted around them. Lucas suddenly realized that every corner in front of him was full of unknown dangers.

"We don't have time left. Let's go!" Lucas ordered loudly. He had no other choices and had to enter that door and face the upcoming challenges.

So, the team quickly passed through the altar and moved towards the Abyss Gate, which was constantly flashing with light. With every step, they could feel the powerful suction force behind them, as if the power of darkness was trying to devour them.

Just as the team was about to approach the door, suddenly, a sharp voice cut through the deathly silence in the air.

"You can't escape!" The voice was full of malice, like a whisper from hell. As the voice sounded, the Abyss Gate suddenly shook violently, and the dark power inside the door instantly surged. The black shadows surged out like a tide, surrounding the entire space.

Lucas gripped his double blades tightly, ready to face the huge challenge that was about to come. Ahead, the power of the abyss was stirring restlessly, and he was also ready to meet this final battle.
