Chapter 5 - chapter 5

"Leo, don't be discouraged. Your grades are outstanding. With your scores, getting into a prestigious university like Chicago University is definitely within your grasp. You can still become a valuable member of society in the future."

"As for the Kryptonian bloodline card in your hand, my personal suggestion is: give it up!"

"Perhaps what I'm saying sounds harsh."

"But!!"

"Fusing with a bloodline that doesn't seem to possess any abilities might not be the right path!"

Standing on the stage, Vice Principal Emima spoke at length for the first time since appearing, and her words were genuinely for Leo's benefit.

Because whether it's a Devil Fruit or a supernatural bloodline, once you choose it, you embark on the extraordinary path. And that path is riddled with danger. It's full of uncertainty, challenges, and even death.

Obtaining such a poor supernatural bloodline and stepping onto the path of the extraordinary was tantamount to courting disaster.

Upon hearing this, Leo's pretty face showed a look of intense struggle.

Although he was a top student, deep inside, he yearned for the extraordinary!

Because, to fulfill the deepest obsession of his heart, he needed to possess great strength.

But...

The bloodline was indeed terrible.

He knew the vice-principal was speaking the truth.

Just as he stood there, confused and at a loss, a voice suddenly rang out from below the stage:

"Wait!!"

A male student quickly stepped forward, running onto the high platform. He seemed quite excited, holding a crystal box in his hand.

Leo recognized him. It was Ben, the student who had earlier drawn everyone's attention by obtaining a rare Logia-type Devil Fruit.

But what was Ben planning to do now?

"Student Ben, do you need something?" Vice Principal Emima asked, frowning slightly.

Normally, if another student had caused a disturbance, Emima would have scolded them on the spot. But she was quite polite to Ben.

Ben didn't waste any time. He walked straight to Leo and said,

"Leo, I want to exchange the Flare-Flare Fruit I have for your Kryptonian bloodline card!"

The entire audience gasped in shock!

Their eyes widened in disbelief.

While exchanges of extraordinary opportunities were permitted if both sides agreed, the issue was that one side was offering an incredibly precious Logia-type Devil Fruit, and the other side had nothing but a bloodline card universally regarded as trash... No matter how you looked at it, the deal seemed insane!

Vice Principal Emima and Leo were both stunned, wondering if they had misheard.

Below the stage, discussions erupted like a tidal wave.

"??? Did I hear that right? He wants to exchange the Flare-Flare Fruit for the Kryptonian bloodline?"

"Has Ben lost his mind? No normal person would make such a stupid trade!"

"He's gotta be joking... right? Or he's just a complete fool!"

"Maybe he has a crush on Leo and is trying to impress him?"

"Possible! But even so, he's giving up something priceless!"

"I mean, he could eat the Flare-Flare Fruit himself and get any goddess he wanted!"

"I get it. He's a simp! They always pull wild stunts like this."

The playground buzzed with noise as students speculated wildly about Ben's motives.

Among the onlookers, no one was more stunned—and furious—than Clara.

Clara had made it crystal clear earlier that she liked Ben. He had walked away without a second thought, even calling her "sick," publicly humiliating her.

She had thought maybe her offer wasn't tempting enough. She was even prepared to offer herself after the exam to secure the Flare-Flare Fruit.

But now?

In the blink of an eye, that bastard Ben had "betrayed" her, offering the Flare-Flare Fruit to Leo instead!?

Hearing the surrounding chatter, Clara's pretty face went pale from rage, and she finally burst into tears, crying "Wah" loudly, scaring the students nearby.

On the stage, Vice Principal Emima frowned deeply.

"Student Ben, are you serious?" she asked coldly.

"We are filming now. Please do not joke around. It will have a very negative influence!"

Her tone was unusually polite, considering her strict and conventional nature.

"I'm completely serious!" Ben said firmly, his eyes fixed on Leo.

"Leo, are you willing to trade with me?"

His serious expression appeared affectionate in the eyes of everyone.

Even Leo couldn't help but wonder if Ben had been overwhelmed by love.

Looking at the Flare-Flare Fruit, Leo naturally desired it.

But his conscience held him back.

He couldn't rob someone else of their opportunity.

So, he shook his head and said,

"Ben, thank you. But this is your extraordinary opportunity, and your future. I can't take it."

Hearing this, Ben was dumbfounded!

When he had rushed up, he thought no one would refuse the Flare-Flare Fruit.

Other people didn't know, but he knew the true value of the Kryptonian bloodline!

The great Superman — the "God of Humanity"!

Why was the Kryptonian bloodline regarded as trash?

Because this world had lost sunlight long ago!

The sun hadn't vanished completely; instead, terrifying mysterious forces had blocked most of its rays, plunging Blue Star into eternal twilight.

Without sunlight, Superman's power source was crippled.

And yet...

Ben knew of ways to generate artificial sunlight!

In Ben's mind, this was the ultimate gamble.

If he succeeded, the rewards would be unimaginable: rapid growth, invincibility, and the simplest cultivation method in existence—just lying in the sun!

Ben was lazy. Having transmigrated once already, he didn't want to grind for years.

Could there be any talent more perfect for him?

No.

Thus, he was determined not to let this opportunity slip through his fingers!

He had calculated everything.

Except one thing:

Leo had a stubborn conscience.

Leo was about to refuse!

Ben panicked.

He quickly thought of a plan and said:

"Leo, you don't want the Flare-Flare Fruit?"

Leo hesitated, "Of course I want it! But this is your chance."

"Is that so? But don't you want to avenge the Henry family?"

Hearing this, Leo trembled. His eyes met Ben's.

Ben pressed on:

"If you really want to kill the monster king from the abyss, this is your only chance! Only by eating the Flare-Flare Fruit and becoming a King-level powerhouse will you have any hope of fulfilling your wish and letting your family rest in peace!"

Leo's emotions surged wildly inside him.

Many people knew the tragedy that had befallen the Henry family years ago.

He clenched his fists tightly.

"But... what about you?" Leo asked, voice trembling slightly.

"This is your opportunity. If you give it to me, what will you do?"

Ben smiled lightly and said:

"I'll find another way."

He didn't elaborate further.

Leo was struck silent, staring at the boy in front of him.

Everyone thought Ben was crazy.

Only Ben knew—he wasn't giving up his future.

He was paving the road for an even brighter one.
