"Are you willing to give up on all the results that you've worked so hard for, all so you could start anew but with proper technique?"
Theo kept his stare locked in on Lukas, knowing full well how there was quite a lot more depth to his question than it would appear to anyone when they first heard it.
What he couldn't tell, though, was whether or not this kid would be able to see through it, to figure out all the potential dangers, roadblocks, and struggles that would follow.
A question that would decide whether or not Theo would actually be willing to teach him the proper way, something he would only allow to happen if that kid was fully prepared for the consequences of following in Theo's footsteps.
"That's…"
In the end, Lukas didn't reply right away. And that, all on its own, was already a good sign.
It was one thing to answer a simple question right away. What's the weather? What's for today's dinner? What did you do yesterday?
