Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Advancing into the Stock Market

Meanwhile.

After finishing his morning classes,

Xiao Fei didn't rush home but instead found a cool spot to sit down and opened the stock trading app on his phone.

He checked the time. There was still over half an hour before the market's midday closure.

He planned to use this time to study the stock market carefully.

To earn enough money to buy a house in a short period of time,

he had to rely on the stock market trends to score big!

After opening the stock trading app, Xiao Fei filled in the basic information and had a quick video chat with the account manager.

Soon, he successfully opened his account with the brokerage.

"Finally, I can get started!"

Xiao Fei took a deep breath and quickly tapped into the main interface.

The stock market trend chart worked like a passive skill. As long as he had this feature,

all the stocks he saw—along with their earnings trends for the next seven days—would unfold in front of him.

When the phone screen began displaying various stocks,

Xiao Fei noticed there were small lines of text beside them that only he could see.

[Taihao Technology (600590), forecasted earnings for the next seven days…]

[iFlytek (002230), forecasted earnings for the next seven days…]

[Lai'en Biological (002166), forecasted earnings for the next seven days…]

[…]

Seeing these little lines of text,

Xiao Fei couldn't help but let the corners of his mouth curl up!

This was incredible!

With these insights, wasn't this essentially an open-book exam?

If he still managed to lose money trading with this, it could only mean he was blind!

Xiao Fei tapped one of the stocks.

Soon, the small text beside it disappeared.

What followed was the stock's projected trend chart for the next week.

This chart was even considerate enough to mark the optimal points for buying low and selling high over the next seven days for Xiao Fei!

With a cheat like this, it was harder not to make money!

However…

He needed money urgently now.

The 1 million he had on hand would be almost entirely gone after a house down payment.

On top of that, he still needed to handle the baby's household registration, process the birth certificate, cover daily expenses, and deal with a myriad of other issues.

So Xiao Fei had no choice now; he had to make quick money!

The more he could earn in the shortest time, the better!

Xiao Fei began scanning the stock market board, looking for the one stock with the most volatile trends in the coming days.

Before long, he locked in on a target stock and invested the full 1 million.

Based on the current timeline, buying in now,

the stock would peak in two days, but soon after, it would plummet again.

All Xiao Fei had to do was sell it off before the crash.

Investing 1 million now,

it wouldn't be surprising if he earned several million by the time he cashed out!

After completing the purchase,

Xiao Fei pocketed his phone and whistled as he walked toward the school gate.

When he arrived home, he was just in time to hear the sound of a baby crying from inside the house.

He quickly changed into his indoor slippers and headed into the bedroom.

There, he saw Auntie Wang holding one of the babies, trying to soothe them.

"Who's crying?"

Xiao Fei walked closer.

Auntie Wang was surprised to see him back and said, "Mr. Xiao, you're home early today?"

"Yeah…"

Xiao Fei nodded.

He didn't bother explaining that he was still a student. Instead, he reached out and took the baby from Auntie Wang's arms. "I just missed my kids, so I came home early to check on them."

"Mr. Xiao, you're truly a wonderful father!"

Auntie Wang didn't hold back her praise.

Xiao Fei smiled but didn't respond, lowering his head instead to look at the baby.

As expected, it was Er Bao who was crying.

Out of the three babies, Er Bao was the most prone to tears.

Compared to her, Da Bao and Sanbao were much tougher.

Especially Da Bao—perhaps because he was a boy—but after all this time, Xiao Fei hadn't seen him shed a single tear!

But Er Bao? She cried at least once every day, without fail.

"I just fed the babies their milk," Auntie Wang said.

"And I checked their diapers—nothing there."

"I have no idea why Er Bao's crying…"

Auntie Wang explained softly.

Xiao Fei nodded, cradling Er Bao gently and soothing her.

The moment Er Bao saw her father, she stopped crying. Her big, wide eyes stared at him with a pitiful expression, as if accusing him: "Why are you only back now?"

"It's okay, Er Bao. Don't cry."

Xiao Fei tenderly touched Er Bao's soft, rosy cheeks.

At that moment, Da Bao and Sanbao noticed Xiao Fei was home too. They waved their chubby little hands at him excitedly.

After placing Er Bao back on the bed, Xiao Fei picked up Da Bao and Sanbao in turn, giving each of them a kiss on the cheek.

Only then did Xiao Fei head into the kitchen to prepare lunch.

Soon, a delicious aroma wafted out from the kitchen.

Auntie Wang, who was looking after the kids, couldn't help swallowing her saliva as the scent reached her nose.

"Auntie Wang, come join us for lunch," Xiao Fei invited.

"Oh, Mr. Xiao, this… I couldn't possibly!"

Auntie Wang protested verbally but, in reality, made her way over without hesitation.

Originally, she planned to make do with some instant noodles, but Xiao Fei's cooking was simply irresistible!

Once anyone had a taste of his culinary skills, they couldn't help being drawn in.

After lunch,

Xiao Fei spent some time playing with the three little ones.

Then, he retreated to his room, pulled out his computer, and began researching the stock market trends.

Time flew by in the blink of an eye.

At 5 PM, Tang Yuxin returned home right on time.

"Babies~"

"Mommy's home!"

As soon as she walked into the house, Tang Yuxin called out cheerfully.

She didn't even notice Xiao Fei at first, sitting on the living room sofa, holding one of the babies and smiling at her.

Auntie Wang sat nearby with another baby in her arms.

In the middle of the sofa, tough little Da Bao was playing by himself.

When Tang Yuxin caught sight of this heartwarming scene, a long-lost smile crept across her face.

"Yuxin, you're back."

"Mm~"

Seeing Xiao Fei, Tang Yuxin's cheeks flushed.

She quickly switched into slippers and hurried into the room, scooping up Da Bao, who was the only one not being held.

"Oh, Da Bao, you poor thing."

"Everyone else is being cuddled but you. Come, let Mommy hold you~"

As Tang Yuxin cradled Da Bao, he grabbed her shirt with his tiny hands, making cooing sounds.

Perhaps he was hungry because his round little head kept nuzzling against her chest.

This made Tang Yuxin's cheeks turn beet red—especially since Xiao Fei was right there.

"You little rascal…"

"Are you hungry?"

Saying this, Tang Yuxin set Da Bao down and went off to make him a bottle of formula.

Seeing the time, Xiao Fei realized dinner time was approaching and headed off to the kitchen.

Before long, the sounds of cooking filled the house.

As Tang Yuxin fed Da Bao his formula, she glanced toward the kitchen where Xiao Fei was busying himself.

She couldn't help but recall what had happened at lunch earlier. Her lips curved into a warm smile.

"Miss Tang, what's put you in such a good mood?"

"Oh… just thinking about lunch…"

Tang Yuxin recounted the lunchtime events to Auntie Wang.

She even mimicked Jiang Yu's exaggerated expressions perfectly, causing Auntie Wang to burst out laughing.

"Mr. Xiao really is an incredible cook," Auntie Wang said.

"I couldn't resist having several extra bowls of rice at lunch today!"

"Miss Tang, your husband is truly exceptional…"

Husband?

Well… sort of.

Tang Yuxin glanced again toward Xiao Fei in the kitchen, unsure of what exactly was running through her mind.
