Chapter 149 - Chapter 149: Qiu Xue Reappears

Qiu Bai entered his room, yawned and immediately collapsed onto the bed, falling asleep.

The next morning, Qiu Bai body flashed with spiritual light, instantly restoring his hair and removing any dust from his body.

He stretched lazily and walked out.

Descending to the lower floor, he saw Qiu Yue sitting in a chair, still flipping through that light novel.

Qiu Bai mouth twitched involuntarily.

Zhongli sat in a chair drinking tea, carefully examining an object.

Hu Tao was sprawled on a chair, yawning. Azhdaha was studying a piece of stone.

"What material of stone would be shiny, smooth, and heavy?"

Azhdaha stroked his chin, looking at the stone in his hand, deep in thought.

"Azhdaha, have you figured it out yet?"

Hu Tao yawned, dark circles under her eyes.

"This Director hasn't slept for a day. By the time we returned yesterday, it was almost daybreak."

"I'm thinking about it, Director Hu."

Azhdaha replied seriously, examining the stone in his hand.

"You said the same thing two hours ago."

Hu Tao sighed.

"Forget it, this Director is going to sleep."

Hu Tao yawned and walked toward the loft, coincidentally encountering Qiu Bai coming down.

"Well, if it isn't Consultant Qiu Bai."

Hu Tao smiled despite her dark circles.

"How was your sleep?"

"I slept well."

Qiu Bai replied, his mouth twitching as he noticed Hu Tao tired state.

"Director Hu should get some rest too."

"You're right. This Director will go rest now."

Hu Tao yawned again.

"A day without sleep is killing me."

She headed up to the loft while Qiu Yue, seeing Qiu Bai come down, gave a strange look, glancing between him and Zhongli who was studying an object nearby.

"What's with that expression, Qiu Yue?"

Qiu Bai asked, noticing her odd look.

"What's wrong?"

"N-nothing."

Qiu Yue hastily hid the light novel behind her back.

"Brother, you're awake."

"You look strange, what's that behind you?"

Qiu Bai said curiously.

"N-nothing, I was just studying a book."

Qiu Yue replied nervously.

"A book? What book?"

Qiu Bai tried to peek behind her.

But every time Qiu Bai tried to look, Qiu Yue would quickly turn away, avoiding his gaze.

Seeing his sister like this, Qiu Bai couldn't help but twitch his mouth.

"Fine, fine, I won't look."

Qiu Bai said with a smile.

"Phew~"

Hearing Qiu Bai say this, Qiu Yue immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

Just as Qiu Bai was about to snatch the light novel from his sister momentary lapse in vigilance, the Yin-Yang jade stone in his clothes suddenly began to beep.

"Hmm?"

Qiu Bai took out the jade stone, puzzled.

"Ningguang?"

He placed the jade stone against his ear and changed his tone of voice.

"What is it, Ningguang?"

Qiu Bai asked curiously.

"I'm sorry to disturb you suddenly, Immortal Lord."

Ningguang's voice came through.

"The Fatui Harbinger, Il Dottore, has left a research facility in Liyue used to study Ruin Guards."

"Recently, many Ruin Guards have been appearing around Lingju Pass, and many Liyue citizens passing by have been injured."

"After the battle with the ancient god and the dragon king incident, we're short on manpower."

"I've stationed some Millelith there to warn people not to get too close. I suspect that's where the research facility is located. Could you please go and investigate?"

Ningguang sounded troubled as she spoke through the jade stone.

These Fatui had caused so many problems in Liyue and during the previous battle with the ancient god, giving her quite a headache.

"Yes, I have nothing particular to do, I'll go take a look."

Qiu Bai replied with a smile.

Hearing Qiu Bai gentle tone from the other end of the jade stone, Ningguang breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank you, Immortal Lord."

Ningguang said gratefully.

"Hehe, it's nothing, it's my duty."

Qiu Bai waved his hand, the jade stone against his ear.

With that, Qiu Bai ended the call.

"Brother, are you going out?"

Qiu Yue asked curiously.

"Yes, I need to go to Lingju Pass."

"Many Ruin Guards have been appearing there, so I'll go check it out."

Qiu Bai explained with a smile to his obedient sister.

"Can you take Qiu Yue with you?"

Qiu Yue eyes were filled with curiosity.

"I've been staying at the funeral parlor and haven't properly seen Liyue yet."

"Alright, let's go together."

Qiu Bai smiled, seeing his sister expression.

Come to think of it, he had never properly taken his sister to see the sights of Liyue.

"Yes! Wait for Qiu Yue, I'll be down in a moment."

Qiu Yue said happily, before running up to the loft.

After a while, Qiu Yue came out wearing a white dress.

"Let's go, brother."

Qiu Yue said happily.

Seeing his sister appearance, Qiu Bai smiled slightly.

Then his form flashed with light, transforming into Qiu Xue.

The heavenly beautiful pair of sisters stood together, creating a stunning scene within the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.

There were still differences between Qiu Xue and Qiu Yue appearances.

First, their clothes were different. Qiu Xue had black hair secured with an ink-white hairband, while her sister Qiu Yue hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall.

Qiu Xue wore gradient black and white stockings on her legs, while Qiu Yue jade-like legs were bare.

"I didn't expect you to take this form again."

Zhongli said, sensing the flash of white light and turning his gaze toward Qiu Xue and Qiu Yue.

"For me, Qiu Xue is also a form of my existence."

Qiu Xue replied, her beautiful eyes looking at Zhongli as she placed her hands over her abdomen.

"Brother?"

Qiu Yue looked at Qiu Xue.

"No, sister, let's go."

"Certainly."

Qiu Xue took her sister hand gently.

"By the way, sister, I have something for you."

Qiu Xue said mysteriously to Qiu Yue.

"What is it?"

Qiu Yue asked curiously, one hand pressed against her red lips.

A pair of black and white gradient stockings appeared in Qiu Xue hand.

At the same time, the stockings on Qiu Xue legs disappeared.

Frowning slightly with her beautiful brows, the stockings in her hand seemed to burn, enveloped in black and white flames.

After a moment, the stockings transformed into two pairs—one black and one white.
