Chapter 84: Reunion with Victoria Housekeeping
More than ten years had passed, yet the scene unfolded just like before.
A red knight leapt forward and, with just a few moves, defeated the Ethereals and saved the director from their claws.
The director looked up.
Through the blinding sunlight, he saw a red figure reach out a hand to him.
"Yo, you okay?"
That familiar voice stirred old memories in his mind.
Gradually, the red knight from his memories began to overlap with the figure standing before him.
A tall knight.
A proud, upright stance.
Even though he couldn't see the knight's face in the glare of the sun, the director already knew the answer. After more than ten years of searching, he had finally found the great knight once again.
"Who… are you really?"
Afraid the figure would disappear, the director reached out with all his strength and grabbed the knight's arm, desperate to confirm his suspicion.
Startled by the sudden grab, Billy jumped.
"Hey, hey, hey! Don't grab my arm—what if someone sees us? Come on, you forgot me already? It's me, Billy—your agent!"
At that moment, the truth became clear to the director.
The great knight he had long sought wasn't some distant legend—it was Billy, the professional agent from Hare's House. The same robot kid he had mocked so many times.
The director looked at Billy, eyes welling up with emotion.
"Robot kid—no, Star Emblem Knight… I've finally found you. Thank you… for saving me again."
It was hard for him to believe.
The knight he had searched for all these years was a robot, and had been right beside him this whole time—yet he'd failed to recognize him.
After so long, his memory of the knight had faded.
If Billy hadn't saved him again, he might never have remembered.
Seeing the director's overwhelmed expression, Billy quickly waved it off.
"What are you saying? I don't get it at all! So? How was my performance just now as the Star Emblem Knight? Pretty cool, right? Same lines, same moves—wasn't it a perfect match to your memory?"
He struck another exaggerated pose, spinning and dancing around.
"Hahaha! I'm a born actor! Seriously, I think you should ditch Sam Li and let me take over the role of the Star Emblem Knight."
The director's face went dark.
"..."
He started to wonder—was his memory playing tricks on him? Could this flamboyant robot really be the same great knight?
Over the years, he had imagined their reunion so many times.
In his mind, the knight was noble, gentlemanly, refined—a perfect hero.
But reality had slapped him awake.
That ideal knight didn't exist.
The Star Emblem Knight he'd clung to all these years was just wishful thinking. The film he'd been trying to make was all wrong.
The director took a deep breath, wiped his eyes, and said solemnly, "You really are a born actor. Even I was fooled. Billy, I'm officially inviting you to play the Star Emblem Knight in the rest of the shoot."
Billy agreed instantly. "It's a deal—you better not back out!"
The director chuckled. "Deal."
Letting the real Star Emblem Knight play the role… that was his greatest wish, finally fulfilled.
Just as the director was about to say more, Billy suddenly turned and left.
"You stay put and don't run off—I'm going to grab the treasure I found."
The director: "..."
Watching Billy disappear from view, the director was left with a strange mix of emotions.
He had found the real Star Emblem Knight—yet he also felt oddly empty inside.
The knight wasn't perfect like he had imagined.
But he was still a great knight.
At least… to the director, he was.
...
While Sam Li and Nekomata were busy unearthing a golden toilet, and Billy and the director had found a stash of firearms and bullets...
At the farthest and final warehouse...
Nicole and Anby had circled through alleyways, taken a wrong turn, and doubled back before finally arriving.
Seeing the warehouse door, Nicole, exhausted and out of breath, let out a sigh of relief.
"At least we didn't take the wrong path this time. Anby, you should've spoken up earlier."
Anby stayed silent.
She had tried to—Nicole just hadn't listened.
They approached the door—only to discover it was wide open, with clear signs it had been pried.
Nicole's heart sank.
"Damn it, someone beat us to it. Anby, let's go check inside!"
No time to rest.
Nicole rushed in and immediately saw that the back wall had collapsed. Even a locked front door wouldn't have stopped scavengers.
Inside was chaos—actor props, broken wall debris, even human bones...
It was pretty creepy at first glance.
Anby asked seriously, "Nicole, what now?"
Nicole scanned the mess, took a deep breath, and replied, "We're already here. Let's search inside. These kinds of warehouses usually have multiple rooms. If there's treasure, it's hidden somewhere else."
They pressed on.
Soon, they noticed a trail of footprints across the dusty floor.
Definitely beaten to it.
Anby quickly spotted something. "Nicole, there's a room up ahead."
Nicole hurried over. "Let's take a look."
Just as they were about to enter—
A long shark tail slid out from the room.
A moment later...
A shark-girl in a maid outfit slowly stepped into view.
Nicole and Anby froze in surprise.
At the same time, Ellen saw them and furrowed her brow. "Huh?"
Voices echoed from inside the room.
"Corin, saw that safe open."
"Yes, Lord Lycaon."
The sound of a buzz saw whirring filled the air.
Startled, Nicole and Anby quickly drew their weapons and took a defensive stance.
The shark girl crunched her lollipop and groaned, "Boss, looks like the prey came right to us. Want me to take care of them first?"
