"BOO HOO!!! VERENA!! WE MISSED YOU!" Cassian wailed, his voice cracking, joined by Elara and their treasurer, who were both equally dramatic in their sobbing.
Raphael stood frozen, unsure of what to say or do. He glanced around, looking more uncomfortable than ever. The other girls, meanwhile, were busy shouting at Verena for being a "playgirl" while simultaneously crying as if their hearts had been broken.
God, this is exhausting...
An hour later, after everyone else had finally left, Clarina remained inside at Verena's request.
"Yes, m'lady?" she asked, stepping forward and kneeling beside the bed.
"Tell me... what really happened?" Verena's voice was calm, but there was an edge of urgency in it.
