Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Learning instant transmission and fusion

"My name is Son Goku! If you really want to thank me, then teach me that teleporting skill you used earlier! And I'm also really interested in that fusion technique you two performed!"

Using two Senzu Beans wasn't just for fun—it was all for the sake of learning their Instant Transmission and Fusion techniques!

Goku was quite surprised by the power level of the Yardrats. When the two warriors had just recovered, he could clearly sense that their battle power was only around ten thousand. But after they fused, their power level skyrocketed to over a hundred thousand! That was truly astonishing!

According to what Goku had heard in the original story, the Yardrats weren't supposed to have strong combat abilities. But these two had a power level of at least ten thousand, and even ordinary Yardrats had battle powers in the hundreds. Perhaps, to the Super Saiyan Goku from the original series, the Yardrats weren't particularly strong. However, if they had no power at all, how could they have possibly developed such incredible techniques?

"You want to learn my Instant Transmission?" Zamu hesitated. "I'd love to teach you, but it's a secret technique of our tribe. Only warriors recognized by our people are allowed to learn it…"

Risha thought for a moment and said, "But you did kill that giant gorilla and saved us all. I think the elder will agree."

Just then, a large group of people approached. Leading them was an elderly man who walked up to Goku with a grateful expression.

"Brave warrior, we cannot thank you enough! Not only have you saved our tribe, but you've also rescued the others as well! I am Zada, the elder of this village. On behalf of all our people, I offer you our deepest gratitude!"

"Grandfather, Goku wants to learn our Instant Transmission and Fusion techniques. Can I…" Zamu hurriedly chimed in, revealing that the elder was his grandfather.

"Of course! He is the hero who saved our entire tribe! Not only Instant Transmission, but any other technique he can learn—we will teach him!" Zada said heartily. The Yardrats were clearly a generous and grateful people.

"Goku, you're amazing! Even that terrifying giant gorilla was no match for you! I admire you so much!" Angel suddenly ran up to Goku, her face full of admiration.

"Angel, I was nearly taken out by that gorilla! Shouldn't you be comforting me instead?" Zamu said sourly from the side.

"But you're fine now, aren't you?!" Angel rolled her eyes at him, completely ignoring his complaint.

Goku chuckled and said, "You two seem to have a good relationship!"

Zamu let out an awkward laugh, while Angel's face turned bright red. Elder Zada smiled and explained, "These two were betrothed as children. They've been bickering ever since!"

"Oh? A childhood engagement? Congratulations!" Goku laughed. As for Angel, he only had the kind of fondness an older brother would have for a little sister. He was only interested in the famous and exceptionally beautiful women of the anime world—anyone else just didn't catch his eye.

Hearing Goku's words, Angel suddenly felt a sense of loss. She had developed a strong liking for Goku. Meanwhile, Zamu, seeing her reaction, felt a pang of jealousy. He looked at Goku, torn between gratitude and frustration—on one hand, his fiancée; on the other, his savior. It was a tough situation!

Noticing the tension, Goku pretended to sigh regretfully. "Too bad your planet's environment is different from ours. My wife wouldn't be able to adapt. Otherwise, I'd call her over to meet you all!"

"What? Goku, you already have a wife? Where is she?" Angel was both shocked and disheartened. In contrast, Zamu's face lit up with joy, and his attitude toward Goku immediately became much friendlier.

Goku focused for a moment, and a glowing ring suddenly flew out from his chest. Catching it, he said, "She's inside this ring!"

"A ring? You can store people inside it?" Angel and the others looked at the ring in astonishment.

"A spatial ring? So your planet's technology has advanced to this level?" Zada was equally amazed. The Yardrats focused on developing strange and unique techniques, but they weren't particularly skilled in technology.

Goku simply smiled without explaining further. That night, he accepted the Yardrats' warm hospitality and, first thing the next morning, Zamu taught him the method for practicing Instant Transmission.

In just one day, Goku had fully mastered it. This was a huge blow to Zamu, who had taken years to learn the technique!

In reality, Goku also felt a bit frustrated. After all, in the original series, characters like Cell and Majin Buu had learned Instant Transmission just by watching him use it a few times!

"I guess a human's learning ability really can't compare to that of artificial beings," Goku sighed.

With Instant Transmission mastered, Goku moved on to Fusion. He had high hopes for this technique—even more so than for Instant Transmission. If his idea worked, his power would increase infinitely, and he would fear no one in this universe!

Fusion was actually much easier to learn. As long as one remembered the key points and poses, it was simple to perform. Goku quickly picked it up, but since he had no equal partner, he couldn't test its full potential.

Afterward, he learned another technique—an energy barrier, which could generate a powerful shield using Ki to neutralize enemy attacks. It was an extremely practical defensive move.

As for other skills, most of them were odd and impractical, so Goku wasn't interested in learning them.

With everything he wanted to learn completed, it was time to leave. The Yardrats were reluctant to see him go, especially Angel, who clung to his sleeve, begging to travel the universe with him.

Unable to refuse her outright, Goku gave her his spaceship as a gift. Now that he had mastered Instant Transmission, the ship was unnecessary to him. This also fulfilled his earlier promise to take Angel on a journey through space. Only then did she finally let him go.

After learning that Goku was already married, Angel gradually let go of her feelings and began accepting Zamu. Since they were childhood friends and had an engagement, their relationship naturally deepened after the misunderstanding was cleared up.

With everything settled, Goku's next destination was the planet where Frieza resided. When his World Ring shattered in battle against Frieza, causing the deaths of all the women inside, he had vowed to destroy his entire race. And that was no empty threat.

On a wide street, Goku turned to the gathered Yardrats and waved. "This is far enough! Time to go!" He placed two fingers on his forehead, sensing Frieza's energy. Looking northwest, he muttered, "That way? It's far, but the energy feels just like Frieza's…"

SWOOSH!

Goku vanished.

Zamu stared at the empty space where Goku had been and said in awe, "I never imagined that with our Instant Transmission, he could travel freely through the universe! That's incredible! I wonder if I'll ever reach that level?"

Zada smiled. "That will depend on your hard work. Once your power reaches Goku's level, you'll naturally be able to do the same."

"I'll get there!" Zamu declared with determination.

Meanwhile, in deep space, a massive spaceship sped through the void. Inside, various alien creatures moved about. In a luxurious hall, a tall man resembling Frieza sat at the head of a table. Next to him sat a smaller figure who bore an uncanny resemblance to Frieza.

"How much longer until we reach Planet Yardrat?" the tall man asked lazily, sipping red wine.

"King Cold, at our current speed, we should arrive in about five days," a wrinkled, short alien reported.

"Five days? That's far too long! By the time we arrive, I'm afraid the one who killed my brother will have already fled!"

The speaker, a tall and imposing figure sitting just below the head seat, frowned. This man was none other than Cooler, the older brother of Frieza, while the one seated at the head was their father, King Cold.

King Cold had specially summoned Cooler, who ruled over another domain, to travel to Planet Yardrat in order to avenge Frieza's death.

"Escape? Hmph, it's just a matter of time," King Cold said nonchalantly, waving a dismissive hand.

SWOOSH!

Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of King Cold and Cooler.

Goku, recognizing the familiar faces before him, looked at Cooler in surprise. "Frieza? No… I already killed him. That must mean you're his brother, Cooler. And that makes you King Cold, his father, doesn't it?"

"Who is this?! How did he just appear here?"

"Intruder alert! We have an enemy on board!"

Immediately, the soldiers aboard the spaceship sprang into action, rushing in and surrounding Goku.

Cooler glanced at the display screen, confirming the intruder's identity. His expression darkened as he turned to his father and shouted, "Father! This is him! He's the one who killed Frieza—Son Goku!"

King Cold took a sip of his wine, regarding Goku with an air of calm indifference. "Oh? So this is Son Goku? He doesn't look that strong. Is he really the so-called Super Saiyan of legend?"

He let out a low chuckle. "Well, well… we were looking for you, and yet you came straight to us. Overconfidence? Or just a lack of intelligence?"

Goku smirked. "I have to admit, I wasn't expecting to run into the both of you. What a coincidence! Since we're all here, I might as well send you two to reunite with Frieza."

"Hah! Arrogant!" Cooler scoffed, stepping forward. "Let's see just how strong this so-called Super Saiyan really is!"

Without hesitation, he charged at Goku.

Goku met his attack head-on. In mere moments, the two exchanged dozens of blows, their speed and power causing the once-sturdy spaceship to shake violently and sustain heavy damage.

However, without transforming into a Super Saiyan, Goku found himself at a disadvantage against Cooler, who had already entered his third transformation stage. With a powerful tail whip, Cooler sent Goku flying through multiple thick metal walls before he finally came to a stop.

"So this is the strength of a Super Saiyan? How disappointing!" Cooler sneered.

Dusting himself off, Goku stood up, his expression calm. "I'll admit, you're stronger than Frieza. But if you think that's enough to beat me, you're in for a rude awakening!"

"HAAA!!"

With a thunderous roar, Goku unleashed his power, instantly transforming into a Super Saiyan. A golden aura erupted around him, filling the spaceship with an overwhelming energy. The entire vessel shook violently, lights flickering on and off, while sparks flew from damaged systems.

"Now… let's begin the real battle!"

In a flash, Goku vanished from sight. An instant later—

BAM!

A single powerful kick sent Cooler smashing through the walls of the spaceship and hurtling into the vastness of space…

"So this is the form of a legendary Super Saiyan? Impressive," King Cold remarked, still seated as he observed the spectacle with interest. He didn't seem the least bit concerned that his son had just been sent flying.

"Tell me, Goku… Would you be interested in working for me?" he asked casually. "With a Super Saiyan like you under my command, conquering the universe would be effortless."
