The event ended with a bitter sweet feeling, as Yugi and Sam had mingled, chatted and conversed for the remainder of the evening. The two outside on the balcony, as Yugi told Sam briefly about what transpired.
Although he didn't tell Sam the full story about what happened in the bathroom. He only told Sam that Yami had came inside and the two talked about what happened between them.
He also informed Sam about how Yami had invited him to his place so the two could speak more in depth of the ordeal. After hearing everything that Yugi had discussed Sammy closed his eyes as if he was in a deep ponder.
" ... Well— this is quite the story, Yug. " Sammy replied opening his orbs once more to look at Yugi.
Yugi was holding a glass of wine, as he hadn't bothered to sip it not once. His eyes gazing at the beautiful garden the owner of the house had.
" I know... " he replied back in a soft voice, as if he wasn't really listening.
" I mean, I won't tell you what you should or shouldn't do. I can only give advice as your best friend. " Sam begin to explain.
" How much do you trust him? " Sam questioned staring over at Yugi to see his expression.
Yugi kept a calm demeanor, and even in the inside he felt that way. For once in his life he didn't feel no anxiety, or frustrations.
It was as if Yami had completely erased those emotions he once had when the two split in New England. A form of a grin appeared against Yugi's lips, which made Sam eyes widened a bit.
" Not even a bit. " Yugi responded confidently.
Sam listening to Yugi's statement gave a puzzled expression, as he shrugged his shoulders and replied back.
" Okay... so then why would you go to his house if you don't trust him? " Sammy asked. Yugi hearing Sam's question already knew his friend would ask that.
It only made the male laugh a bit, as he turned his face to Sammy and responded.
" ... Because I have nothing to lose. " Yugi remarked as Sam continued to keep his gaze on his friend, still giving a confusing look.
" Look, Sammy I don't expect you to understand, when I told you Yami and I finally had sex, you were so happy. Then when I told you what happened after that you immediately told me to leave him alone. " Yugi explained.
The male's eyes narrowing down a bit as he started to remember.
" Ever since I took your advice .... I have been nothing but miserable. I thought I could move on and build back with Austin, but I found Austin and I weren't compatible. " Yugi continued to tell his friend.
Sammy listening intensely towards Yugi's words.
" I even started drinking heavily, having restless nights, crying myself to sleep, and when I spent those moments alone, all I could think about —- was how much I missed Yami... "
" .... Yugi... " Sammy softly whispered.
" I know it sounds crazy, and even toxic but I can't shake the feeling that Yami regrets what happened as well. You didn't see how he was towards me... the emotions I saw, were nothing but pain... and something much more deeper.. " Yugi told Sammy looking up at him.
Sammy hearing Yugi continued to watch how Yugi was speaking. His tone didn't sound at all hurt by what Yami had said or done to him. It was more on the side of understanding and remorseful.
" So— I don't expect you to comprehend how I'm feeling about Yami. I don't trust him because I'm scared, confused myself and also troubled. Although, I feel open to keep trying to see if I can be there for him, knowing I know now— he's lonely... "
" Really? But he's a billionaire... " Sammy said.
Yugi hearing his friend looked back up at the garden and smiled, as he responded.
" Yeah.... He's also highly intelligent, adventurous, mysterious, defensive and painfully ignorant at times. But even with all of that— he's lonely. No one has been able to test him the way he wants or give him what he desires most.. "
" ... and what's that... " Sammy said arching a brow as Yugi turned back to his friend and shrugged.
" I'm not sure myself, but I only have a hunch, so I won't tell you in case I'm wrong. Though, I'm too curious myself not to find out if I am. "
" I see.... " Sammy said softly as he looked at the garden.
Both men quiet as they stood on the balcony together enjoying the moonlight and the breeze. Sammy breaking the silence with a bit of laughter as Yugi glanced over at him.
" Ahaha... sorry. It's just— this whole time I thought you hated Yami. But— hearing you say all those things about him just now. I mean.. wow.. " Sammy remarked.
Yugi blinked multiple times, as he saw Sammy forming a grin with his mouth closed. Yugi couldn't help but do the same.
" .. Thanks Sammy. "
" Huh? For what. "
" For always having my back. " Yugi replied, as he nudged Sammy a bit with his shoulder.
Sammy feeling the nudge did so back to Yugi, as the two laughed a bit.
" Come on. Let's leave. I got a blunt I need to smoke. " Sammy told Yugi, as he started to turn heel and move inside.
Yugi nodded at his friend's remark as he followed behind Sammy and the two headed back inside the mansion. Walking down the hallways, and heading for the entrance as the party was coming to an end.
Yugi looked around and noticed Yami was gone, he didn't know precisely when Yami had left, but he knew he must've went home. Both Sam and Yugi headed down the steps together, as Sammy looked at Yugi.
" Well, I guess you'll be heading over to his place huh? This late in the hour it's already 11pm. " Sam told him.
" Yeah, I know— but I don't want him changing his mind about us talking. So it's best I go now before that happens. He can be impatient I've noticed. " Yugi replied back.
" Alright. Just be safe, and be careful. Don't make me come looking for you, yeah? " Sam said with a smile.
Yugi smiled back, as he hugged Sammy tightly, as the two closed their eyes in unison. Yugi slowly released Sammy, as Sammy headed to his car while waving goodbye at Yugi.
Yugi waved back as he watched Sammy head to his vehicle, while Yugi started to do the same. He was grateful for Sammy's understanding, as he didn't think he would be.
He knew this was going to be a challenge getting to know Yami well. He didn't think it was going to be an easy task, but considering he knew how he truly felt about Yami it was this or nothing.
Yugi had returned to his car, and started the car up while checking his phone. Seeing Yami's address in his phone. His heart began to race, as he contemplated all the possibilities.
Of what could transpire when he got there, but he refused to back out now. Yugi sighed with some exhaled air, as he put his seat belt on and typed in the address in GPS.
The male had driven out of the parking lot and headed for Yami's house, as he couldn't wait to arrive there.
