Chapter -2: I Have Powers!

------

A/N: Since you liked the first chapter

I had undeniably obtained a lot of good things, and I really couldn't complain. But still, there were many beings in this universe who could slap me to death without breaking a sweat.

At least I wasn't going to die to some junkie in an alley… or worse, to someone like Skidmar. That would've been a truly pathetic way to go, considering how low on the food chain he was in this city.

The Merchants were a plague that needed to be wiped out early on. Maybe they should be my first real target to test out my new powers.

After all, nothing is truly useless to me—at least, that's what I thought at first… until I took a closer look at some of the Gacha's details.

Blind Dominator was a power from an old manga series that, from what I remember, was never that popular. The ability was born from a person's wishes and transformed those desires into a powerful ability—it basically functioned like a Stand.

With this power, the protagonist had even managed to control a godlike being (the will of the mental world), whose mere presence was pushing the world toward destruction.

Unfortunately, I couldn't use it.

All that hype I built up? Completely useless… because I didn't have the card for Hoshimiya Eiji—or his sister, for that matter. The ability was originally hers, but it was stolen from her along with her memories, so she wouldn't have to deal with the trauma of nearly destroying the world.

It all came down to compatibility between cards. So, if I obtained unique powers, I'd also need their corresponding characters. That didn't sit right with me, especially when I was this close to getting a power that ranked on a planetary scale.

At least that restriction didn't apply to powers tied to genetics. Bloodlines? Basically all mine for the taking.

That thought led me to a theory: if I obtained a weak or partially awakened bloodline, couldn't I theoretically push it to its full potential using Amy's powers?

For example—the Byakugan. Technically, couldn't it already evolve into the Tenseigan? It was a question I left for "future me," but definitely something worth keeping in mind even now.

Especially considering Amy, who went out of her way to avoid using her powers, just so she wouldn't be forced to work in a hospital or heal every injured person who crossed her path.

…That's how it would've been, at least, if it weren't for me and Vicky. The two of us were really good at getting her to change her mind—whether she liked it or not.

I really did love my sister, especially when she worried about and took care of Amy. We all had our flaws in the family, but I wouldn't trade them for anything.

I was lucky to have gotten Giorno Giovanna—especially since I won his full package. His Stand (unfortunately not the Requiem version, since I'd still need the Arrow card), his clothes—which honestly looked too good, and I wasn't just saying that because he's one of my favorite characters.

I could use Golden Experience with no issue thanks to the Gacha, and that alone brought me a huge sense of relief. It's an incredibly versatile power, and being able to rely on it right from the start gave me a solid advantage. Especially considering how useful it can be in combat, survival, or even support situations.

And no—I'm not going to use the Soo'unga. Not because I can't, but because I'm not that much of a suicidal maniac. That sword can literally open a rift to hell, and I have no clue what kind of supernatural abominations or demons might crawl into this world if I recklessly swing that damn thing around.

Until I become stronger and get used to my powers, I'll try not to make any mistakes that could accidentally lead to the end of the world — there are already enough people trying to do that anyway.

The Lexus LC 500 – Black Panther edition will appear beside me, so I'll use the card later and just store it in my inventory to have it with me at all times.

In total, I have six characters and one pet — SCP-999. Honestly, I'm still debating whether to summon it or assimilate its powers. They're incredibly useful, and I'd basically have the world in the palm of my hand without even needing to fight.

It even managed to make a goddamn killing machine smile — yes, I'm talking about SCP-682, the immortal lizard infamous for its hatred of all life. Even that thing couldn't resist SCP-999's charm.

Back to the characters I got from the Gacha, I need to decide which ones to assimilate right away and which ones to save for a later summon, since I currently have zero intention of using them all just yet.

The reasons are several, but the main one is simple: I'm too weak. I still lack the strength and preparation to handle the power of certain characters, and trying to summon something I can't control would be a fatal mistake.

I have five characters: Adam, Giorno Giovanna, Loid Forger, Chromastone, and Macht. All incredibly solid choices, each with unique abilities and immense potential.

The issue is, I can only assimilate two at a time, and I'm not exactly sure how long the entire assimilation process takes.

From what I've gathered so far, the stronger the character, the longer and more complex the assimilation becomes. Also, the bigger the gap between me and the character — in terms of strength, compatibility, or even will — the harder it is to complete the process.

So, as a human, it'll take me time to assimilate Chromastone and Macht, but there's no rush. I'm not going to be easy to kill anyway, thanks to other powers.

I should think carefully before making a choice like this… or at least I should've, if the decision wasn't already so obviously the right one.

Out of all the characters I can choose, assimilating Adam and Giorno Giovanna with his Golden Experience is basically the no-brainer move. It's a decision that offers insane potential, and if you don't pick it, you're straight-up ignoring one of the most powerful combos I could possibly get.

Not only are both characters incredibly powerful, but their abilities complement each other perfectly: Adam's adaptability and combat efficiency, combined with Golden Experience's life manipulation and heightened perception, create a synergy too good to waste.

Better to play it safe.

As for Peni Parker and Stocking — jokes aside about "thinking with my dick" — the truth is that I had no intention of assimilating them.

Not because they were completely useless, but because they didn't offer anything particularly helpful for my current situation. In fact, they might've brought more problems than advantages.

Starting with Peni, my biggest issue was the Web of Life and Destiny. Honestly, I wanted nothing to do with that mystical web until I was ready to protect myself from the side effects.

Because connecting someone to the Web could bring insane benefits… but thanks to resonance, everyone tied to it ends up living a life full of tragedy.

For those who don't know, the Web of Life is what lies behind the constant highs and lows of every Spider-Man across the multiverse — betrayals from friends, girlfriends dying (either emotionally or physically), clones, confused identities, gut-wrenching losses… and a lot more.

I wasn't ready for that.

Not yet.

As for Stocking, her card description calls her an angel. But I wanted to dig deeper, especially because of the troll-ish twist ending of her show.

In the post-credits scene of the final episode, Stocking suddenly kills her sister Panty, slicing her into 666 pieces, and it's revealed that she's actually a demon — not an angel.

Such an extreme act obviously generated a wave of fan theories. The most popular one? That Stocking was under mind control. And honestly, watching the entire series with that theory in mind… it kind of holds up. But in the end, it wasn't even that important.

As for her power… well, to be honest, it wasn't something I really cared about, considering she can transform her stockings into a pair of katanas, known as Stripes I and Stripes II.

These swords can be joined at the base of the hilt for greater versatility. Considering the variety of weapons her sister Panty can create from underwear, it's plausible that Stocking could also generate other types of weapons — though it was never fully confirmed.

In any case, the only truly useful thing was the fact that her swords are particularly effective against spiritual entities — like angels, demons, and ghosts — which, in some ways, makes them powerful.

However, despite their effectiveness, I had no intention of obtaining that kind of power. It just wasn't for me, especially considering I had way better things I could use.

Thinking about this, I begin by summoning the various cards. The first one is the Vongola Hyper Intuition Card: it shows a beautiful flame, alive and pulsing.

The text on the card says that I will gain much more than just heightened perception: I will develop an intuition capable of sensing threats invisible to others and discerning truths that no one else can see. Moreover, with training, I could achieve abilities never shown even in the original manga.

I use it without further hesitation.

The card glows for a moment, then disappears, dissolving into the air like dust made of light. Suddenly, I feel warmth in my chest — not the kind that burns, but the kind that comforts.

It's a subtle presence, but clear — as if someone were quietly filling me with courage. And yet, I don't feel different. At least, not in any obvious way.

Almost at the same time, I activate the Inventory card. After a few seconds, a screen appears before me — an interface that looks like it came straight out of an RPG, layered over the other Gacha system screens.

I observe it, curious. Then I take the other cards: Alex Mercer's jacket, the martial arts manual, and the cloak of invisibility. I drag them (mentally?) into the inventory. And with a soft sound, like a digital swish, they vanish from my hand and appear in the list on the interface.

Now it's time for the most important card.

I use the Giorno Giovanna card. When it vanishes, something truly changes. It's not just a sensation… it's as if I've just formed a bond. A mental connection, maybe even spiritual, with something I can now call to me.

The assimilation progress number had increased significantly just by using the card, and most likely, it had to do with the race of the card I used and the fact that, in the end, we were quite similar even in terms of personality.

So, I shouldn't have too many problems assimilating Adam, even though, theoretically, he was made from copies of gods.

I try to call my new Stand: "Golden Experience." In response, a humanoid spectral figure appears behind me. It is entirely golden, with the top of its head resembling the helmet of a soldier, embellished with a ladybug-shaped design. From the eye cavities, two curved marks descend, resembling the letter "J," one on each side.

I immediately feel a connection between us — strange, intense, but not uncomfortable. It's like I suddenly have a second body that I can control with my thoughts.

I just need to get used to it.

Golden Experience is a close-combat Stand, with an effective range limited to about two meters around me. It doesn't have its own personality: it executes every command of mine with precision, without hesitation or independent will.

Compared to other Stands in the same category, like Star Platinum or Crazy Diamond, Golden Experience doesn't shine for its raw strength. Its blows aren't devastating, at least not based on pure physical power: its strength is comparable to that of a well-trained human being, nothing more.

But its true strength lies elsewhere. Its unique ability is extremely versatile. If used intelligently, it can completely turn the tide in a disadvantageous situation.

"MUDA!" Golden Experience delivers a quick punch to a pen on my desk. The punch doesn't shatter the pen, as another Stand would — no.

Something different happens.

Before my eyes, the pen starts to change. It reshapes, grows, takes form… and within seconds, at my feet, there's a small golden bird.

It flaps its wings, chirps softly, and looks at me with large, curious eyes, as if it has just come into the world. Then, with a light, precise flap, it takes flight and gently lands on my ear — almost as if it instinctively knew that's exactly where I wanted it to be.

I stand still, still somewhat incredulous, trying to get used to the surreal sensation of having just created a living creature… from a simple object.

With a thought, I wish for it to return to its original form. And immediately, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, its little body starts to gracefully deform.

The feathers retract, the beak vanishes, the wings fold back onto itself, and in an instant, it's a pen again. Still there, resting on my ear, as if nothing had ever happened.

This was just a small taste of Golden Experience's power: the ability to give life to inanimate matter.

One day, I might be able to create an intelligent creature, a completely new form of life. Maybe I could even reach what Kars achieved, or perhaps… surpass it.

I smile, wide. Now I have powers of my own — real, tangible — and this is just the beginning, considering there's still so much more I can do, so much more to discover from all the things I've gotten from the Gacha.

I decide to test something else — my new inventory, and with a thought, I summon the interface. Immediately, a floating screen materializes before me, resembling that of a classic video game.

My character's icon appears in the center, stylized but detailed, and I select one of the items obtained from the Gacha: Alex Mercer's jacket.

With a simple tap, I confirm the equipment, and the jacket appears directly on me, as if it had always been there without any difficulty, no over-the-top special effects — just absolute efficiency.

The jacket is black leather, with a dark red interior visible under the raised collar. Two white horizontal lines run down both sleeves, and on the back, prominently displayed, is the iconic blood-red winged ring symbol.

Looking at myself in the mirror, I see a young guy, lean but with well-defined muscles. My platinum blonde hair gently sweeps across my forehead, almost shining under the light. My blue eyes are large and clear, with a gaze that seems to capture everything around me.

To be honest, I almost look like the male version of Vicky. Or is it more accurate to say she's the female version of me? In that case, it sounds less strange, at least to me.

If she was the dream girl of every guy in town, then I represented her opposite. Not that I minded, but it became truly annoying every time we were compared, as if we were somehow destined to be in competition.

And that's why it was amusing, almost ironic, that the Gacha assigned me Adam's model. Considering the traits I share with him, I can only say that this system has a strange sense of humor.

Now, I'm curious to see what kind of changes Adam will bring me in the long run. According to the description, it should take me well beyond human limits, given that he was able to stand up to Zeus without much difficulty.

Plus, it seems that I'll get a ton of extra advantages from being a copy of a "god" — or something like that. The Gacha wasn't too clear, but it mentioned "authority over humans," which didn't really clarify how it worked.

I take the card and use it without a moment of hesitation, as the decision had already been made the moment I first read it. No doubt, no uncertainty: this power was what I wanted.

As soon as I use the card, it glows with an intense, almost blinding light before dissolving into the air like dust made of light, vanishing without a trace.

Now I can say it without any doubt, right? I'm true Adam.

Pfft. A bit too perfect, right? But hey, I'm not complaining
