Chapter 2 - Pure of heart

The first thing I noticed was the hum a low, resonant vibration that thrummed through the cold metal chair I was strapped to. My wrists ached from the zip ties, but the sound... it was familiar. A frequency I'd chased for years in dimly lit forums and clandestine meetups. Electro-cute. My obsession. My undoing.

He stood in the corner, silhouetted by the flickering glow of a dozen modified tasers and frayed wires snaking across the floor. His hands moved deftly, adjusting dials on a homemade control panel. I should've been terrified- was terrified-but my pulse spiked in a way that had nothing to do with fear.

'' You're awake,' he said, not turning around. His voice was softer than I'd imagined. Online, he'd gone by Voltage, a legend in circles not known... creativity, we'd exchange messages for months, dissecting diagrams and trading stories of near-lethal mishaps. I'd fantasized about meeting him Just not like this.

He finally faced me; His eyes were the blue framed by a mess of ash-blond hair. A jagged scar ran from his temple to his jawline-a souvenir from a botched experiment, beautiful ruined.

'' You stopped responding,'' he said tilting his head. After I shared the schematics of our life. You ghosted me but I knew you still wanted it. The real thing. Not those baby shocks you've been playing with.

The first jolt tore thought me like a comet, white-hot and primal. I screamed, muscles seizing, but beneath the pain bloomed something euphoric, a high no drug could replicate, He watched, transfixed, as I screamed. '' See?" he whispered, crouching to brush sweat-soaked hair from my face. '' You're sublime like this. Pure no lies, no mask HIs fingers trailed down my arm, lingering on the pulse point. '' I'm giving you what you really want. What you're afraid to take''.

Days blurred. The shocks came in waves punishment and sacrament. He would sing apologies and poetry as he soldered new scares to my skin, his touch feverish. I learned his world and explored his mind. Explosion, two students hospitalized. He'd been watching me long before, together my desires cryptic posts from beyond.

I hate him. I craved him. The line between captor and lover dissolved like a fuse in a surge. When he unshackled me to bathe, I tried to run. I traced the scar on his face instead and he trembled-like i was holding the live wire. I thrust my power upon him in a surge of sexuality that binds us to the circuit forever inside one another I ask for forgiveness from his DeVine greatness.
