He wasn't just excited—he was genuinely happy. Children were perceptive. He could sense Elena's sincerity and kindness.

His joyful laughter and bright expressions lifted Elena's spirits more than she expected. For a while, she completely forgot about Damian Blackwell in the hospital.

That night, after giving Oliver a bath, Elena realized there was only one bed in the house. Given how small he was, it would be fine for them to share for now.

Oliver was delighted. He climbed into bed, hugged Elena's arm, and sighed in contentment. "Big Sister, you smell so nice."

"Olly," Elena said with mock sternness. "You're always teasing me, aren't you?"

Oliver giggled, then his smile faded slightly. His voice turned quiet. "Big Sister… now I have a soft bed and you to care for me. But I miss my brother. I don't know if he's eating enough, if he's safe or being bullied. I just really, really miss him."

Tears welled in his eyes as he spoke. He missed his brother terribly.
