Chapter 50 - Yang Chen exposes Wang Meng's bribery and arrests him.

Yang Chen's orders were executed with remarkable efficiency by Luo Bin, who quickly gathered all the necessary information.

"The audacity of this woman! She's just a small-time department supervisor, yet she's taken so many bribes and even leaked confidential information from Sanhe Group," Yang Chen muttered as he sat at his desk, reviewing the documents Luo Bin had provided. His eyes narrowed slightly. "With this evidence, she should be looking at a solid ten years behind bars, right?"

"Chairman, should we hand these over to the police now?" Luo Bin stood respectfully before the desk, speaking cautiously.

Yang Chen tossed the file into the trash bin. "Didn't you say she just received a departmental award today? And tonight, she's treating her colleagues to a celebratory dinner while publicly humiliating Qin Xi. Given that, how do you think we should use this evidence?"

Luo Bin paused briefly before understanding Yang Chen's intent. "I see. You want to let her climb to the highest point before bringing her crashing down."

A faint smile curled at Yang Chen's lips. "Go ahead."

---

At Sanhe Group, Wang Meng was buzzing with excitement all day after receiving the company's 100,000-yuan bonus.

Other supervisors flocked to congratulate her, fueling her delusions of soon being promoted to deputy department manager.

Meanwhile, Qin Xi, after sending that message earlier, seemed like a completely different person. She set aside all her current tasks and began preparing for her upcoming role as general manager.

As the founder of Sanhe Group, even though the company had been wrested from her by her family, she had spent years working there and was intimately familiar with its operations. Now, she was drafting plans and arrangements, confident that the general manager position would soon be hers—especially since she knew Yang Chen was the one who had bought Sanhe Group.

Originally, she had intended to climb the corporate ladder from the ground up, believing she could earn the promotion through hard work. But she hadn't anticipated the company's flawed promotion system.

With someone like Wang Meng standing in her way, no amount of effort would secure her a fair promotion.

So why not take the position directly? Once in charge, she could fix these systemic flaws herself.

---

"Manager Wang, have you heard? Headquarters has already appointed a new general manager for Sanhe Group. Rumor has it the official announcement will come before the end of the day," said the heavily made-up woman who had delivered the "flowing red flag" award to Wang Meng that morning.

Wang Meng's eyes widened. "Really?"

The woman nodded, grinning. "Manager Wang, your luck is just incredible. Last month, you won first place in the company evaluation and got a personal bonus of 100,000 yuan—just as you're at the peak of your success, the new general manager is arriving. You're bound to make a great first impression."

Wang Meng clenched her fists excitedly. "If I can really catch the general manager's eye, that would be amazing."

"I've got high hopes for you!" The woman swayed her hips as she walked away.

News of the impending appointment spread like wildfire through the company, stirring excitement among the employees—as if they themselves were up for promotion.

Only Qin Xi remained calm, quietly working at her desk, absorbed in her tasks.

At this moment, she felt the same drive she'd had when founding Sanhe Group. She was mapping out the company's future development strategies and personnel adjustments, drawing on her recent experience as a frontline employee.

She was certain that once she took the helm, she could lead the company to even greater heights.

---

"That bitch, what could she possibly be busy with all day?" Wang Meng sneered to a colleague.

"Probably just wasting time. She used to be the company's chairwoman, and now she's stuck at the bottom. Must be eating her up inside," the colleague remarked, glancing in Qin Xi's direction.

Wang Meng smirked. "Let's go see what she's up to."

As Qin Xi finished organizing her files, she noticed Wang Meng approaching.

"Qin Xi, you must have heard the news, right?" Wang Meng asked, eyes glinting.

Qin Xi frowned. "What news?"

"Seriously, what have you been doing all day? You haven't even heard about the new general manager's appointment?" the colleague mocked.

"Even if she had, she'd probably pretend she didn't. If there's anyone who'd be most upset about the new appointment, it's Qin Xi—after all, she used to be the chairwoman," Wang Meng added with a smirk.

"Yeah, what a tragic fall from grace."

"And let's not forget the saddest part—she married a useless man, had a kid, and then he just vanished."

"Wait, really? I had no idea!"

Laughter erupted around them as others joined in, eager to curry favor with Wang Meng by mocking Qin Xi.

Qin Xi remained silent, her cold gaze sweeping over the crowd. These people were willing to step on others just to flatter their superiors—how repulsive.

---

Time flew by, and soon it was the end of the workday. The general manager's appointment still hadn't been announced, leaving employees somewhat disappointed.

Wang Meng stepped forward, announcing cheerfully, "Tonight, I've reserved a private room at Beiyuanchun Restaurant. Everyone's invited!"

"Long live Manager Wang!" The crowd cheered.

Just then, a black Audi A8 pulled up at the company entrance. A middle-aged man in a formal suit hurried out, clutching a document folder.

The deputy general manager of Sanhe Group rushed to greet him. "Secretary Chen, welcome!"

Chen nodded. "Deputy Manager Niu, good to see you. Traffic was terrible—is the staff still here?"

"Everyone's present. Please, come inside!" Niu said respectfully.

As the deputy general manager, he was privy to some inside information—but without authorization, he couldn't breathe a word of it.

"Deputy Manager Niu is here! Everyone, back to the office!"

Wang Meng, about to lead her colleagues out, froze when she saw Niu accompanying the unfamiliar man. She quickly ducked into her office.

"Notify all employees to assemble in the main conference room immediately!" Niu instructed his secretary before escorting Chen inside.

"Who's that man Deputy Manager Niu is treating so respectfully? Must be a top executive from headquarters. But if this is about the general manager appointment, where's the new GM?"

"Maybe Deputy Manager Niu is getting promoted?"

"Doubt it. We'd have heard rumors by now."

As speculation ran rampant, no one noticed Qin Xi slipping away.

Soon, everyone gathered in the main conference room. Secretary Chen took the central seat, with Deputy Manager Niu on his right. To Chen's left was another seat, labeled "General Manager."

After a brief introduction, Niu announced solemnly, "Now, Secretary Chen will read the official appointment letter. Let's give him a warm welcome!"

Chen stood, holding the document, and declared, "To meet the company's operational development needs, following deliberations by the management committee, Qin Xi is hereby appointed as General Manager of Sanhe Group, responsible for its daily operations."

"This decision takes effect immediately upon issuance."

"Now, let's welcome General Manager Qin to say a few words!"

The room erupted in shock. The name "Qin Xi" was all too familiar.

"No way! This can't be happening!" Wang Meng muttered, her face pale.

"It must be someone else with the same name. Don't panic—the new GM is about to walk in," someone beside her reassured, though her own voice trembled with unease.

"Right, it's just a coincidence. It can't be *her*!" Wang Meng stared fixedly at the door.

Then, the crisp sound of high heels echoed through the hallway.

Under the collective gaze of the room, Qin Xi strode in—wearing a sharp professional suit—and took her seat at the leadership table.

**Boom!**

Wang Meng's mind went blank. She felt as though her soul had left her body. "Impossible… This can't be real…"

Qin Xi didn't spare her a single glance. Sitting in the general manager's seat, she began her speech with poise and confidence.

To the company's veterans, it was like witnessing the return of Qin Xi in her prime.

Some were thrilled. Others were devastated.

---

"The meeting is adjourned!"

By the time it ended, many were still in shock.

"General Manager Qin, wait!" Wang Meng scrambled after her.

The crowd watched with amusement. They all knew how she'd treated Qin Xi before.

Qin Xi turned, her gaze icy. "What is it?"

"General Manager Qin, I—I've booked a dinner tonight at Beiyuanchun for the team. I'd love for you to join us. Consider it a welcome celebration in your honor," Wang Meng said with forced cheer, as if their past conflicts had never happened.

Qin Xi smirked. "Oh? I thought only the most *esteemed* were worthy of Manager Wang's invitations. I'd better go home and let my 'good-for-nothing' husband cook for me instead."

She threw Wang Meng's own words back in her face.

**Click, click, click.** **单击,单击,单击.**

With that, she walked away, leaving Wang Meng standing there, her smile more grotesque than a grimace. 这样,她走开了,让王孟站在那儿,她的笑容比鬼脸更怪异.

Desperate to save face, Wang Meng turned to her colleagues. "Well, since it's the end of the day, how about I treat everyone to Beiyuanchun?" 渴望拯救脸,王孟转向她的同事. "好吧,由于这是一天的结束,我如何对待所有人beiyuanchun?"

"Sorry, my husband's waiting for me at home. Rain check?" "对不起,我丈夫在家等我.雨检查吗?"

"My parents are visiting. Can't make it." "我的父母正在拜访.无法做到."

"Gotta pick up my kid from daycare. Maybe next time." "必须从日托那里接我的孩子.也许下次."

Not a single person who'd been eager to join her that afternoon was willing to go now. 没有一个人渴望那天下午加入她的人现在愿意去.

Suddenly, the blare of a siren cut through the air. A police car pulled up outside, and two officers marched in, stopping in front of Wang Meng. 突然,警笛丝从空中割断.一辆警车驶向外面,两名警察进来,停在王孟前.

One produced a warrant. "We've received verified reports that you stole confidential information from Sanhe Group, compromised company interests, and accepted bribes. You're under arrest."一个人生产了逮捕令. "我们已经收到了经过验证的报告,您从Sanhe集团窃取了机密信息,受到公司利益的损害,并接受了贿赂.您正在被捕."
