Inside the student council office, Ishizaki and the others had already explained the situation to Horikita Manabu.
In short, the three of them had gotten into an argument with Sudou, but they never expected him to be so hot-tempered. The moment things got heated, he resorted to violence, leaving Ishizaki and two other Class C students beaten up like this.
Horikita Manabu's expression remained unchanged after hearing this. Tachibana Akane, who had already been informed earlier, looked calm as well. Hikigaya, on the other hand, seemed puzzled.
Even though Hikigaya had doubts, this wasn't the right time for him to speak. After thinking for a moment, he turned to Tachibana Akane.
"Tachibana-senpai, since this involves my class, I think I should step away from this matter."
Since this case involved his own class, Hikigaya believed he should avoid getting involved for the sake of fairness in the student council.
Tachibana Akane immediately understood his reasoning and was about to nod in agreement when Horikita Manabu, who had been silent until now, suddenly spoke.
"Hikigaya, stay. I trust you to handle this matter fairly."
Ishizaki, who was just about to smile, froze. To an outsider, it almost looked like his swollen face was twitching from the beating, making the scene unintentionally funny.
Hikigaya glanced at Horikita Manabu in confusion, but the latter's face revealed nothing. After a brief pause, Hikigaya nodded in acknowledgment.
"The student council has accepted your complaint, Class C. To ensure fairness, I will personally oversee this case. Do you have any objections?"
Horikita Manabu spoke in a serious and impartial tone.
Ishizaki and the other two exchanged glances before shaking their heads. In fact, having the student council president handle this case was exactly what they wanted.
After a short discussion between Horikita Manabu and Tachibana Akane, Tachibana turned to Ishizaki and the others.
"The hearing will be held tomorrow after school. Both parties involved will need to provide testimony before an initial decision is made. Make sure you attend. If you don't, the consequences will be on you."
After officially stating the necessary details, Tachibana Akane wasted no time in urging Ishizaki and the others to head to the infirmary for treatment.
Ishizaki quickly thanked her before leaving with his two classmates. However, just as he was about to step out, he instinctively glanced at Hikigaya—only to realize that Hikigaya was already looking at him.
Startled, Ishizaki stumbled and nearly fell.

The next day, July 1st, everyone in Class D was excited.
Today was the day they would receive the results of last month's class points. While Class D had performed somewhat decently in June, the main reason for their anticipation was simple—they had been stuck at zero points for two months straight. Surely, this month would be different.
Among them, Hirata was the most nervous, followed closely by Horikita. If their class points remained at zero for three months in a row, the complaints Hirata had managed to suppress would resurface, and the class would fall into chaos again.
Meanwhile, Horikita was still trying to figure out how class points increased and decreased. While the rules for losing points were somewhat clear, she was more interested in finding ways to *increase* them—after all, that was the key to reaching Class A.
But in all of Class D, Horikita was probably the only one with such an "unrealistic" goal. Even Hirata and the others were only hoping for a small increase this month.
So, when Chabashira-sensei entered the classroom carrying a poster with the updated class points, everyone held their breath.
And when they saw the number "87" under Class D, the entire class erupted in cheers.
Hirata let out a deep sigh of relief, while Horikita simply sighed.
Hikigaya immediately understood the reason for Horikita's reaction.
Looking beyond Class D's 87 points, the other classes had all seen increases as well—most notably, Class A had soared to 1004 points.
The sheer difference was like an insurmountable gap, crushing the lower-ranked classes.
Of course, most of Class D didn't care about that. They were more focused on the fact that they would finally receive 8,700 private points this month—desperately needed money, especially for those who had been living on the cheapest meals for two months straight.
"Wait, why haven't the private points been deposited yet?"
Ike, who had been ecstatic, quickly checked his phone—only to find that his private point balance was still at zero.
The realization hit him like a brick, and he let out a wail.
More students noticed the same thing, and a sense of unease spread through the room.
"Uh, sensei… what's going on?"
Hirata immediately asked Chabashira-sensei, his voice laced with anxiety—something he probably didn't even notice himself.
"Because of a certain dispute, your private points have been temporarily delayed."
As she answered, Chabashira-sensei's gaze instinctively landed on Hikigaya.
Hikigaya glanced at his phone and confirmed that Class C's private points hadn't been transferred either.
In other words, it wasn't just Class D—Class C was affected too.
Seeing how his classmates relaxed slightly after hearing Chabashira's explanation, Hikigaya's expression became somewhat unreadable.
After class, just as Sudou was about to slump onto his desk for a nap, Chabashira-sensei called out to him.
"Sudou, come to the faculty student council office after school."
"What? But I've got basketball practice after school!"
Sudou was clearly upset.
"I've already said my piece. Whether you go or not is up to you… of course, only if you can handle the consequences."
Chabashira-sensei gave Sudou a cold look before turning to leave.
Sudou slammed his hands on the desk and stood up angrily, immediately drawing the attention of the whole class. When he noticed Horikita's disapproving stare, he clicked his tongue in frustration and reluctantly sat back down.
"Hikigaya, do you know something?"
Horikita suddenly turned to Hikigaya as if she had picked up on something.
Hikigaya glanced at her in surprise. Since when did this ice queen become so good at reading the mood?
"You'll find out by tonight at the latest," he answered vaguely.
That afternoon, after school, Hikigaya packed up his things and headed to the student council office. Inside, Ishizaki, Komiya, and Kondou were already waiting, along with a bespectacled teacher who had a rather gloomy aura—Sakagami-sensei, the homeroom teacher of Class C.
As soon as Hikigaya entered, Sakagami-sensei's sharp, almost predatory gaze locked onto him, sizing him up.
Hikigaya, unfazed by the hostility, simply nodded in greeting before walking over to stand beside Tachibana Akane.
Not long after, the office door opened again. Chabashira-sensei walked in first, her face as emotionless as ever, followed by a clearly irritated and impatient Sudou.
